  1. Does the stronghold do lungworm ? IMO nowadays you should be doseing for lungworm and drontal doesn't do it.
  2. Well Albert, I always pick up a copy of your magazine and used to subscribe but I'm after looking at your web-site and I see you still have the terrier article up stateing that if in Ireland you have a good working terrier then you can probably trace it's breeding back to the dogs of Seamus Erwin. Your magazine wont be taken seriously Albert when such rubbish is printed in it.
  3. Well Keith, I hear you've a right tally up already. How's the Munster air for you ???
  4. Could have been worse, could have been an Elephant or worse, one of the local women.
  5. Thanks for sharing Dytkos, looks like you's are having the same weather as ourselves.

  7. Re - slagging Stevie. have you read the first post on this thread ?

  9. I don't normally reply to "look, this year I dug a fox" type posts but your the one that mentioned me first in your one.
  10. You must be so proud ,LOL. Out only twice in a week ??? And when you say pit do you mean dig ? You'll learn in time it's called a dig. A pit is for a different sport.
  11. Joel I'd say the reason no one has replied yet to your question is because the answer would fill a large book. Fishing tackle nowadays is so specialised that it's very hard to get one rod or reel to do several types of fishing. So go to the places you plan on fishing and ask the locals what rods they use for different methods. Rods can be expensive so learn all you can before spending your hard earned and then realising your rod is not suitable.
  12. Your probably right IL and it's not a bad thing for football. But for fucks sake we have to listen to it for at least 12 months, LOL.
  13. I was with a fellow today who has a very good black labrador that suffers from this coat condition. He picks up on a big estate and has considered putting this dog down. The dog isn't suffering but he can't have people accussing him of neglect. He's spent 800 euro on tests and nothings worked. It must be a black dog thing. The only thing I could suggest was Aloe Vera oil like what the old dog fighters used to use to promote hair growth and he's going to rub it on some bald patches and not on others to see how it goes.
  14. No bullshit lads, but it's a very sad indication on the skill of Irish terriermen when they come out saying they can't / won't / scared to handle game. It also shows a lad who hasn't done much.
  15. boys like u are whats wrong with this game sitting on this site blowing his own trumpet i never met u but i would say ur a first class prick the sort of guy that when out on a days digging u be glad to get home and have a laugh with ur mate saying how much of a cock u are Well maybe it's time you did meet me. If I'm everything that's wrong with the game then I'd be a happy man.
  16. its simple if i go out an dig down 4 or 5 foot open the hole shovel in terrier out job done. im not diving in head first when there a lurcher standing there. and i would love to have a camcorder to see anybody sticking there hand down to lift a fox when theres no terrier on it do it here all the time bud.more ways to get one out then most think i no there is but neil is specially gifted Lazy, nearly every terrier man I meet over the course of a season handles game confidently and often. I would say there's a lot of terrier men looking at your posts and thinking your a novice.
  17. thanks for that neil iv just wasted 30 years of my life doing something i shouldnt have been doing any body want to buy a good fox dog and a bulldog spade ps il do a trade in for a ferret an nets I think you should have put that post in the buy and sell section. If your 30 years at the game and can't take a fox out (that's facing you) then IMO you haven't learned much and maybe the name you write under is very appropriate.
  18. Like I said before if you can't take a fox out of a dig whilst he's looking straight at you (terrier took away) then you shouldn't even be out trying to work a terrier. Anyone can put a collar on a terrier. A 5 year old child could operate a locator. Most able men can use a shovel to some degree. It's knowing what to do at the end that takes a terrierman. If some one want's to work a strong dog at the end because he thinks that's a strongdogs job and it will better the breed then that's his own buissness. But if someone sticks a 70 lb lurcher or a 40 lb strong dog in to get the game out
  19. Make the most of it, the twentys might keep coming but Sam wont be getting a Jackeen accent, LOL.
  20. its simple if i go out an dig down 4 or 5 foot open the hole shovel in terrier out job done. im not diving in head first when there a lurcher standing there. and i would love to have a camcorder to see anybody sticking there hand down to lift a fox when theres no terrier on it I hope your joking Lazy. I've done it 4 times in the last week alone. IMO it's a sad day when there's lads working terriers who can't handle game.
  21. There's a lot of lads feel that way Lazy, but what's wrong with using your hands and save on the lurcher and the quarry. It's not being macho it's being part of working terriers. As someone said earlier if you can't handle one then you shouldn't even be using a shovel.
  22. Thanks Whitehackle, well then it looks like you've a good brood cock there.
  23. Do all of the above remedies and I'll guarentee the hair will grow back. Then in a few months the hair will fall out again. It's a problem with the black terriers that the vets can't seem to solve. I know of several terriermen who've had terriers with this problem and after blood tests and expensive cures the hair grows back only for it to fall out again. Stress, diet, mites, blood, hormones and mange have all been blamed and investigated and no solution found. My advice is get something from a vet to say you tried to cure it in case your accussed of neglect. Personally I think it's genet
