  1. I'm aware of the ways of calves and weaning them. IMO fighting for terrierwork is a serious issue and if a club is going to be formed to fight against any dangers it must be formed by a serious mature person. When a club is being formed the first thing done is to hold a meeting. At this meeting firstly a commitee is formed. Out of this commitee comes a chairperson, a secretary and a treasurer. Then a name is decided upon. Then if a logo etc. is needed then this will be decided upon. But as Stop End has already decided himself upon a few of these things then I presume he's going to run the
  2. Every one who keeps dogs should be aware of lungworm. It's not nice to see what it's capable of to a healthy pup .
  3. Stop End, your post was going OK untill you made references of having oral sex with a calf. Is this the sort of posts made by someone who's trying to do something about saving an entire sport and way of life in a country? I don't think so. If you can't even write a serious post on a serious subject how do you think people will take you serious?
  4. no mate, the breeding is something like this grey/welsh collliexgrey/welsh foxhound...and if you dig deep enough there a dash of saluki somewhere....lol Oh, ok.
  5. Dunkanon, are you saying that lurcher is 1/4 greyhound ? If it is it came very racey indeed.
  6. I'd just like to say that firstly IMO a 32 county working terrier club wouldn't work because of different laws etc. But it's a nice idea. Secondly I'll join and support any club that fights for my way of life no matter who's involved and I think everyone should but for personal reasons could never get involved in the running of one.
  7. I agree 100% Barrie. But who ever will be to the front of any club that's representing terrier work either North or South of the border will be the face and voice that represents their fellow sportsman. Now if that person or persons hasn't the ability to argue the cause and has in the past posted content that will in any way will add fuel to the Anti fire then the Antis will tear him or her to shreds. Also, will other fieldsports embrace terrier work if terrier work looks shabby. A new club has to have the ability to pack a punch from the word GO. When the last Federation was up and runnin
  8. Thanks for clearing some things up Stop End. And your right, it wasn't you who asked me about a club or federation. I'll repeat what I said and I hope it happens. I said that hopefully anyone who represents the terrier men and terrier work here in Ireland is someone who hasn't contributed in anyway to giving terrier work a bad name, has the ability to speak in an intelligent way on the subject and can get the message through. It would also help if they could write a letter or two in a proper manner. So hopefully the likes of yourself will be able to find someone who fits the bill.
  9. Well, what's the opinions now? Great training performance by Mr Nicholls and poor ol' Synchronised and Pete. What a brilliant ride by Miss Walsh, Seabass could win next year and Hello Bud was brilliant at 14 years of age. And what about the photo finish ? A friend of mine who concentrates on handicaps told me weeks ago to back the winner, of course, I knew better. I backed Treacle. He got 33's.
  10. Any club being formed to fight for the survival of terrier work will have to get the Master of Foxhounds assc. and the CA on their side. Simple as that. With the exception of laws regarding baiting and fighting all laws regarding terrier work are written up with Hunt Terrier work in mind. Stop End while I say well done on your recent work in getting a club in the North of Ireland up and running I sincerly hope that a commitee will be given the chance to elect a chairperson and a secretary and that you wont just elect yourself to the Chair. It's not too long ago you were putting up pictures
  11. The antis are indeed milking this story. They will be saying that they're coursing greyhounds. Also there are rumours doing the rounds that Phillpott up North has said that when he's finished with the terriers (his current campaign) he's going after the greyhounds.
  12. Folk, to read some posts you'd think some lads wanted to be left alone to dig or "bait" badgers. The badger is protected and always will be. Both in Britain and Ireland. Our arguement is programmes such as Countryfile make it look like that anyone who's out in the countryside with a terrier is a BB. We have to get it through to the public that there's a very legal side to terrier work. So don't make your arguement sound like "I want to be left in peace while I look for badgers." This is what some posts look like, JMHO.
  13. Ok Rabbiting man, your aware of the law. Then why did you suggest that the lad who got a visit has broke the law with his lurchers ? This is excactly what's wrong with the inter-net. People write badly worded posts that incriminate themselves and others. Some idiots put up graphic photos. Some write graphis details. Let's face it. The antis etc. don't even have to get their hands or feet dirty anymore. They just have to sit beside a computor and the fools who keep terriers and lurchers do their work for them. I'm not saying every poor fellow who get's a visit is on the WWW but in the last f
  14. Good job Albert. New laws aside, micro-chipping has in the past helped people get their stolen dogs back, which can only be good.
  15. Stop End I'm not sure I understand you. Are you saying that the majority of decent terrier folk are on here ? Rubbish.
  16. Earth, I disagree. There's lads on here and other websites that give a lot of information about themselves and when this is combined with the lies that the antis and media make up it get's them lads in trouble. What gets lads in trouble in the first place is their wannabe egos. BUT, history has shown that when these lads get arrested within a short space of time there's more knocks on doors. Sadly law abiding lads then loose their beloved dogs, much to the delight of the antis.
  17. Which is also illegal in England, think before you post. I've seen dogs with plenty of marks on them from rats, briars and barbed wire.
  18. This evening's report was a load of rubbish but will result in a few phone calls being made which will result in some folk getting attention drawn to them. And don't you know it will probably be some decent law abiding lads who'll get a visit. But hopefully it will also make the idiots think twice about some of the idiotic post's and photos that they put on the net that harms everyone.
  19. Imagine the session he's having now with Luke and Ronnie, R.I.P.
  20. Sad to see angling suffers the same idiots other fieldsports do. Tough men (in their own minds) but IMO they were all afraid of that little Pike.
  21. JMHO but it's a big pity when such rubbish is spoken about a working breed. Pity some folk wouldn't stick to there Poodles and I never seen a fox yet that wouldn't bolt because a terrier had pricked ears or a pink nose. Sad.
  22. There's a lad with a Jack Russell at stud in the terrier section and someone asked "what size". It reminds me of the old advert, JACK RUSSELL at stud. 12 inches.
