  1. I'm sensing a lot of exaggeration in that story.
  2. That's sheep for you, their one aim in life is to commit suicide. In saying that, you've probably left yourself wide open for a massive piss take from the dirty minded b*****ds on here who'll want to know why you were taking pictures of a sheep from that angle.
  3. I have a tattoo of a fox being chased by 16 and a half couple of hounds and behind the hounds there's a field of 20 horses jumping hedges. But I see that it's forbidden on here to put up pics of body private parts you's will just have to take my word for it, .
  4. Have done a lot of digging on my own over the years Liam and with the odd exception most of it went smoothly. Also had a few experiences on my own that I regretted not have a witness because of unusual experiences, ie. digging a pure white specimen that I released confident I'd meet it again, but never did. But a solo dig a couple of weeks ago made me realize I'm not up to it like I used to be. It caused me to miss two days hunting and has pissed me off realizing I've to be careful from now on.
  5. I've been listening to stories from my father since I could walk about him digging badgers and foxes with their Jack Russells when he was young. I got ferrets when I was around 13 and a local greyhound man asked me for a rabbit. When I went to his yard he had his own line of Jack Russells, 3 or 4 fell terriers, 8 or 9 lurchers, all Deerhound hybrids, 5 or 6 pit bulls and around 70 greyhounds. That yard became my school after that, LOL. Had my first worker at 15 and thats nearly 32 years ago now. Never been out of them for a single day since.
  6. Am I right Dido in saying , Staghounds, Fell Hounds and obviously a French pack ? Are they your pics ? If so what was the French quarry ? Any good ?
  7. It could have been worse, it could have ended in murder. Ireland doesn't need anymore ferret gang related killings. Drive bys, car bombs and torture all over ferrets. It's all getting out of hand here in rural Ireland.
  8. Was on a farm the other day that had snowdrops well up on the avenue. This morning everywhere is frozen solid after a severe frost and the same farmer's after ringing me to tell me there's a Red Deer in his hayshed eating hay. Must be starving.
  9. That's interesting Gnipper because I don't want something that would take time away from my other animals but I do like a practical side to the animals I keep. I've always fancied some Rollers.
  10. But would you not have to be letting Rollers out everyday ?
  11. I was thinking strongly about getting some Birmingham Rollers but like anything I do I get into it in to big so time spent flying them would take away from time with the dogs and fowl. After seeing my friends Figuritas that are small, beautiful and without the exaggerations you see on some fancy pigeons I took a fancy to them.
  12. Thanks Peter. Getting a few birds shouldn't be a problem. Does your friend allow them out to bring in his racers as I'm led to believe the Figuritas have bad homing instincts. I was just wondering were they highly strung etc. as a lot of ornamental birds can be and I don't want that.
  13. Anyone ever kept them ? I have a spare shed I could easily turn into a flight for them and a friend has some nice ones and said he'd give me some. Anyone got experiences with them ?
  14. The oldest one in the book "In my defense it was a cold day."
  15. That snowman sure is happy to see you Blackdog. But he's got a dick but snowballs.
  16. What you do is get a greyhound bitch that's in heat. Tie her to a tree in the area the Wolf is and BINGO in 9 weeks time you can tell the wife yer going to be rich.
  17. Maybe he drank his own piss ?? Or cut off a couple of fingers and ate them. Any way, at the end of the day it's all down to global warming
  18. Always said it, terrierwork is the only fieldsport apart from live trapping (where an animal might be 12 or 24 hours caught) where the hunter can assess the animals condition and decide whether to release or cull or as they did in the old days relocate.
  19. No doubt they are an amazing animal and the snow tells no lies. The last week while shooting or hunting I've seen a few travelling dog foxes all looking for love. Yesterday hounds put a fine dog fox out of covert and he ran for about a mile, turned left and left again before going to ground near where they found him. But close to the mark the pack split and they ended up all marking a couple of hundred yards apart. I'll bet the other mark was the vixen ?
  20. All these rough tough hunting men of THL saying they woke up with a few inches or they hoped to have a few inches and one lad said he was getting some tonight must have the ladies of THL giggling to themselves
  21. No tracks of him coming back either, did you get him ????
  22. I'm the same preferring to see the mouth closed as long as it's well done like Rob has done justice to that mask.
  23. Thanks Eddie and fair play for sharing. Two things that I found surprising was the deer nets and the cockerel comb covers. I got the impression the nets were for catching deer and not for keeping them in. But then again Carted Staghunting was common years ago and a cover to put on your cocks comb to stop it flopping over shows they took their poultry showing seriously years ago. A good insight to a forgotten age.
