I'll tell ye one thing ye Cork hoor. It's true what they say, there's all of Ireland and then there's Cork. The stabbings happened in DUNDALK. Google Dundalk Jigsaw, a republican town near the border. Ye being from Cork probably didn't even know that Eire has a border with the North.

It's always a big shame when politics get in the way of common sense because when they're lost they're lost forever. The benefit of the line should always be the number one priority.
-
It would be a pity if no one kept his line going. Would I be right in saying there's probably more of his JRT blood around today in some black lines then ?
-
Shouldn't be different no matter where Blaise, they way you described is 100% and is the proper way no matter the quarry or whether there's 1 man digging or 10 men digging or the tools used, .

JMHO but you have to say it as you've seen it and not start rumours etc. BUT, Plummer wrote an article in an Irish Fieldsports Magazine about the type of people who keep black working terriers and for example he wrote in the article that the owners of such terriers are on the same I.Q. as Chimpanzees. That's one example of the abuse he dished out to those who kept a terrier type he helped glorify. He made a nice penny writing about those he despised, the hunting man. Also, Plummer wasn't only ridiculed after his death but several good down to earth working dogmen told him in life wha

Poor ol' hound and his owner probably spent many's a day searching for him.

Yep, Rob the place you've exercised terriers 100 times a year without incident will some day have a fox in a shitty little rabbit burrow you didn't know was there and then you're in trouble. Sticking finding collars on terriers for exercise is not practical and most of us once or twice a year have to get the shovel and bar and look for one who's gone to ground, or in my case, a half a dozen times a year. So IMO by leaving a collar on them you're adding to the risk our terriers have.
-
Come on Rob, I think you know the answer to that one. It even kills me to have a collar on them for a dig but there's no other modern day alternative. Even the most inexperienced of terriers might be curious enough to go 6 or 7 foot into a hole and get hung up. At least with a finder you'd find it but with a collar on it for no other reason other than the owner was too lazy to undo it could cause the suffering or death of a terrier. Maybe I'm wrong but IMO it's common sense. Another bit of common sense is that if bushing was your thing a collar on a dog WILL hinder it in thick cover.

Todays scumbag was Egyptian, 18 year old carrying two knives, it's looking like he was refused a visa to live in Britain. So we'll blame the Brits, LOL. The poor unfortunate he killed was a Japanese chap and then injured two more with a fence post. I'll tell ye one thing, 20 years ago he wouldn't have got the knife out of his pocket in Dundalk and he'd have been sorted. As for Balbriggan ? That's a case of spot the white man this many years. Ireland's been f****d this many years but it's probably a better place to live than a lot of other places.

Nice site and keep up the good work but you've repeated Part 1 in Part 2. -
We might hunt different quarry in different terrains all over the world but it looks like the poor old working terrier will always have the cancer within of the puppy peddler. Such is life.

JMHO and not being funny but unless it's a locator collar I hate to see any terrier loose with a collar on it. Nice pup, .

Thank you.

You have the title of first fox of 2017 and for the next 12 months if anyone on here puts up a report of a fox they've caught you have the divine right to say "Big Deal, it wasn't the first." . -
That's a bit harsh Shane, he was only admiring your terrier.
-
No, it tends to be black terriers that deaf you out when they're on a line. It's the breeders of white terriers that are deaf when you tell them that if they don't get their house in order the good proper working Jack Russell will be gone forever . JMHO.

Will that be beaten RH..........................................? You might have had the first. -
It wouldn't surprise me if some folk exaggerated the truth because IMO the Author not only tried to cover every county but every parish within those counties and that might have been too much . But I do know that what he wrote about the rabbit men in my area was accurate. I started rabbiting in the 80s and hunted with those men who made a living out of the rabbit up 'till the 60s even after the myxy. Some of them are still alive.

Definitely a contender AT but I do know a couple of lads who had 4 dug this morning and were at a meet for 12.30 so it's close, BUT, they mightn't add to this thread so I'd say you're leading so far. LOL. No doubt someone will say they put a terrier to ground yesterday and got it out at 12.05 AM this morning.................fair play if they do ,LOL. -

Well done Scar Face and very well done to the terrier, but that took an hour or two so some fecker probably had a 12 inch dig that bet you, LOL, but a great way to start a new year. -
