  3. Is generally a good show that mate, usually take the Lurcher and Terrier, but might take the Lab as well this year. Cheers Dave.

  5. Sorry to hear that allydog, shame when things dont work out mate, hes a cracking looking Springer as well. Good luck getting him a good working home. Dave.
  6. I agree with the above. Chocs tend to have mainly show blood in them and so traditionally not been used for work. This is starting to change as more working strains have been introduced, but if you look back a few generations show lines will probably still be found, but the Chocs are moving in the right direction. Like Alison has said, Do your homework. Good Luck Dave.
  7. I can understand why allot of lads dont use there dogs on crows, but i do and had no problems. My Lab dosnt mind a peck or two and like hily says, if i have my terrier with me i send him as he likes to shred them, the more they peck him the more he likes it. Dave.
  8. Not being funny mate but you should of had this sorted weeks ago (before you got her lined really). Good luck getting her sorted. Dave.
  9. Hey Swampy, the dogs grown up smart mate. and BS i always thought that rule of thumb the WHV likes hunting thick cover, its what sets them apart from the smooths, or am i mistake? Dave.
  10. There was a few threads kicking about last year mate, if you search Pointer x Lab in this section. Dave.
  11. Depends on what you want to do ? If you go to a field trial you will not see the handlers with a gun. I have a dog with load of FTCH in her pedigree and to be honest she is good, BUT she was a BA***** to train, she did and still is on full throttle ALL the time . I use her for beating and it was the only way to channel her energy without driving me mad. When i come to breed from her i will use a dog with very little FTCH in it as i want a calmer springer not another whirlwind !!! So i would say a good Working background is as good if not better than a pedigree full of FTCH for mos
  12. How old are the Terriers, some are a little cover shy when young, get them out with a more experienced dog and they will soon get the hang of it. Dave.

  21. I had the same problem last season, the geese came in and settled on the lake to breed and the duck disappeared over night, a couple of pair came and went over the summer but never really settled. Like you say you dont mind during the season and these geese will return to your fed pond then, but if you are putting down duck the chances are the geese will disrupt them. Let me know how you get on mate. ATB Dave.
  22. My Lab bitch was the same last year only she was loose all the time as well, i tried a few different foods (wagg being one of them)until i found one that suited her, she is on DR John Gold now, putting a little weight on, not too much like cause i like them fit and her stools have firmed right up. Best of luck with him. Dave.
  23. Cracking looking dog mate, sounds like he is coming on well for you ATB Dave.
  24. Cracking pups mate, good luck with them. Dave.
