  1. Dont think you need anything that big and clumsy mate, a good pure Lab will do it just fine. Go for a bigger wildfowling type and you wont go wrong ATB Dave.

  4. Think its a 8ft locator box, but i have lost the collar and carnt find another one.

  11. Been out 3 times over Xmas, a Walk 1 / Stand 1, a rough day and a rake around with my son for a few hours. Here are a few pics Is hard going beating through there i can tell you The forbidden land Was dark when we got back but Fern had her head lights on. Had some cracking days and some good dog work. The best one was picking a bird in the woods after a drive, dogs were struggleing to find it as it was a runner, fern started marking a rabbit hole well away from where the bird droped (thought i had been using her too much ferreting) but i was proud as punch when i p

  14. Lad on our shoot trials Cockers, he only works his retired dogs, his youngest retired dog is 6 and a cracking hunting machine. But he did say it took him a full season to learn to slow down and pace himself for a full days work, when he first retired and started working he about needed carrying home at the end of the day, so i suppose he retired at 5-6 years.   16. There is different strains in both breeds mate and the Springer may speed up as its hunting confidence grows. Well done in its training so far, you will have a machine by the end of the season. ATB Dave.
  17. All excellent dogs in there own right pal, but depends what you want them for, horses for courses and that. Dave.

  19. I normally hang my Pheasants for about a week then eat or freeze them, but after cleaning / preparing them i put them in the fridge and forgot about them, how long can they be left in the fridge after being hung 1 week? Cheers Dave.
