Well had another look out for some Pheasants on the same land as 2 weeks ago but they had all gone, i was out on a small farm mid week and had the same trouble, looks like i am going to have to invest in some Feeders to try to hold some birds on my land. Well it was first day of my season, so i got a flyer from work and couldn't wait to get going, And guess what it was absolutely Pouring down Well it was just me having a walk round one of my farms i shoot on, so what the heck and Fern my young Lab bitch wouldn't mind. Second nettle field we hunted and she flushed 2 Hens, i cliped one with each barrel and both were runners, she retrieved the first no problem but the other must have gone along the hedge the whole length of the field, i thought we had lost it but she tracked it well and got it in the end, i was well chuffed.     Try her on cold game mate, at 12 months she may be a bit board with the dummy and something with a bit of scent will get her blood up a bit so she wont even notice the thickest cover. ATB Dave.

  21. George and his Shadowbrae kennel have an excellent reputation hear in the North East of England for trialing and breeding Labs. My young bitch Fern was sired by his Cardykeas of Shadowbrae and i couldnt be more pleased with her. Look forward to watching his dvd. ATB Dave.

  23. why not just get a well bred gwp/dd, why bother with a cross bred which could for the most part be a lottery, contary to popular belief a gwp does not need calming down, ya just need to find good deer lines, stay clear of the trials bred shit as they have been bred to run. Of the GWP's ive seen, they like a lot of space to work, and rightly so, by using the wind they quarter wide, shame its a bit too wide for the beating lines here in the UK, and so many keepers have found that the lab crosses are far better dogs in the beating line than most pures, in fact every pure ive seen beating has
