I believe it is Sid but nothing like it used to be years ago you could pick up some really interesting stuff I haven’t visited in years. The famous Bagel shop is still doing a roaring trade I believe GL has put up some good food pics from there in the past. Edited to say they used to have a really popular plants and flower market Columbia Road flower market I don’t know if it’s still going. I just looked it is still going http://www.columbiaroad.info/ http://www.bricklanemarket.com/

Amazing pictures I was down there every Sunday my grandad used to trap birds over the Mudchute on the Isle of Dogs and he used to sell them in the Bird Cage Pub, I remember it being a very busy market until the latter years early eighties maybe, people were fighting the animal rights mob there was some fantastic punch ups people rolling around in the gutter knocking the shit out of them. A perfect Sunday was down the lane buy a load of shit you didn’t need or want lol, me mates used to call me Arthur Neagus then down the pub for roast potatoes on the bar and get hammered in a lock in.
  5. I got a message from my wife today to say that her 84/85 year old parents carer said she couldn’t get bog rolls anywhere she had been to 3 different supermarkets, so I thought I’d pop into B&Ms to see if I could get to the bottom of it see what I done there lol they had stacks of them packets of 18 chest high I picked one up and you could see and feel people glaring at me like I was a bog roll hoarder, on my way out some geezer said to me watch out mate you might get mugged never did I ever expect bog rolls to be such a sought after commodity strange times......

  8. I used to own a four track fieldman 2.8 was the best 4x4 I’ve owned and would pull an house down if I asked but then I bought my present 4x4 a Land Cruiser and I’m in love I would never own anything else. Just too add £8000 is silly money you could get two mint ones for that or a really nice Land Cruiser.
  9. It’s great to look back at your past some good memories to say you was there I used to collect all my old tickets but they have disappeared over time I had loads. As to where does time go a really good mate of mine said to me recently that he had more of a past than he does a future I thought shit he’s right I better get out and make some more memories ?
  10. Wow that’s almost an antique I see them at Glastonbury in 1980 when they were doing all that teapot business poor old Daevid Allen the lead man died not so long ago here’s a little reminder of how great they are and was.
  11. I’ve listened to Zappa for years he’s let say a bit experimental showing your age their Arry Empire Pool lol. Ive always liked the unusual stuff Gong Steve Hillage and the older Hawkwind stuff where Lemmy done his thing when younger.

    Check Up

I’ve just been looking into it Katch and for a good package that covers me and my wife it was about £76 per month for me aged 56 and my wife £79 per month aged 57 so just over £150ish a month that was with Bupa you obviously can’t take any existing problems when you join up, if you go on the website fill in what suits you and you get a quote at the end of it smoking obviously knocks it right up. If I could opt out of the NI contributions I would and put that money towards private health care, our health service is swamped by the immigrants and health tourism you’ve only got to walk in any
  16. BC British Columbia Canada I believe he’s been appearing on series 8 of Mountain Men chasing lions lol he’s taken over from the old boy Rick. On a serious note though he is a great traveller and has been around a bit when he done his Burma trip very interesting and he put me on a few pointers when I travelled to Sri Lanka I’m sure he will pop up again people seem to come and go on this site.
  17. I always say your only as good as your last meal I don’t seem to suffer from colds at all I’m an outdoor worker which seems to help but I remember when I was young I had the usual colds that you get and I was dared to eat a cooking onion like you would an apple which I did after that I never had a cold that I could remember, Mr Sausage eat a big raw onion or Socks will be writing some nice words about you lol....
  18. I’ve never read anything so boring and repetitive but how stupid was I reading all 40 long and detailed pages life that I will never get back ?.
  19. Thumbs up for Stihl again it’s the weapon of choice for the off track lads on the railway and the amount of cables and small pieces of rail and rail clips they smash into and they still keep going buy once cry once is a motto I live by it saves in the long run.
  20. I’ve got a AYA No 4 double trigger and I bought it because it looked lovely I love the old fashioned SxS look but can I hit anything with it no, I’ve often thought of getting rid and getting something else I was looking at a Baikal MP153 it’s getting time to have a look to see what’s about.
  21. Great Info Comanche it’s interesting because going by the link I found there are others with a CB prefix although rare so like you say they must have been a special order of sorts. Edited to say Ilford is a stones throw from Dagenham where my father in law was born and raised so yes it ties up he probably purchased it from Ajax toy shop.
