  1. I have been thinking about that, with Hibbard in I think it will be front ball and drives, at least there is a chance of him hitting front jumpers. TC
  2. About the only problem I see is as SoB is not an out and out jackler, who is going to turn over the ball when Lydiate ankle chops them? It might have made more sense to start withTips then brought SOB on for his carrying later in the game? TC
  3. Just been looking at the team and the thought struck me that, this team may bring something that the two others have not had. Cohesion, you have a team that has played together and know each other. The bench is full of good impact players, looking at the teams it seems Gats has gone back to what he knows, up the jumper and down the middle, trouble is, that has never worked against the Aussies, they seem to be able to soak that up all day. We will see come Saturday. TC
  4. The team for Saturday. 1. Corbisiero, 2. Hibbard, 3. A Jones, 4. A W Jones ©, 5. Parling, 6. Lydiate, 7. O'Brien, 8. Faletau 9. Phillips 10. Sexton 11. North 12. Roberts 13. Davis 14. Bowe 15. Halfpenny Bench - T Youngs, Vunipola, Cole, Gray, Tipuric, Murray, Farrell, Tuilagi. To be honest I like the look of it. TC
  5. Fuji, I really look forward to the posts about your jaunts, although I have to admit it does make me a little jealous that you are able to make these walks in superb countryside. A man and his dogs who needs any other company? Please keep them coming. TC
  6. If the seller refuses to sell to you report him as a nonpreforming seller, if he makes a habbit of it he gets lower listing priority for his auctions, if he has a history of it he can get NARU'ed for it. he will also try and get his selling fee's back ebay will ask to to cancel the sale, refuse to do so and he will not get his FVF back. The minimum reserve on ebay is £50 so if there is a reserve on an item you know they want at least £50 for it. If the item is worth more than £50 and there is a reserve on it just email the seller and ask what the reserve is ( most sellers will tell you) th
  7. Some cracking picks there, I like the one with the gannet and the kittiwake behind it. We call the Razorbills and the Guillimots, Dic-dic birds here as when bass or mackerel are chasing the white bait to the surface, they land in the middle and pick off the whitebait with a short sharp pecking motion. Theres a saying here follow the dic-dic birds and they will lead you to the bass. TC
  8. Mal, believe it or not if your chopping worms in half your pushing the pump in too deep. Maros used to hold some big blacks in places and yellowtails in others. If there is a surf up (=Low pressure) The top 6" of the sand will be churned up and each wave will flatten the sand so you have a smooth beach, High pressure and the opposite occurs the beach becomes rippled as there is no surf to flatten it out and the sand packs down hard, if the high pressure persists you will even get a layer of silt over the sand as there is no surf to wash it under. Yellow tails and blacks live in vertica
  9. Good work Joe, personally I have never left a dog touch a rabbit in the net, however, if the rabbit gets out of the net then it is fair game. The idea to get a dog pushing the rabbits into a net is a good one, but what frequently happens, even with dogs that do not touch a rabbit in a net, is the dog chases the rabbit into the net, rabbit hits the net dog jumps over the net. The dog is now in front of the rabbit and the rabbit backs out of the net to get away from the dog. If the dog had stopped on the entry side of the net the rabbit would be pushing into the net. How you get a dog to do
  10. I used to pump blacks and yellow tails for a living. The object is to pump the worm into the pump not push the pump over the worm. Worms cast at set intervals get to know when they will cast and your more than half way there. When the worm casts they are at are at the top of their tunnel, therefore are easier to pump. Any cast that is dry looking without any sheen to it is an old cast and the worm has dropped back down it's tunnel. Look for casts that have a sheen on them, that are smooth with no pitting, that means the worm has just cast and is still at the top of it's tunnel. When the worms
  11. Thats intresting, vertical instead of the horizontal bag. I do like. TC
  12. One small animal vet here charges £23+vat another vet charges £12 including vat. TC
  13. Right cooled down a little now. That game was lost because of the game plan nothing else. Watch the game, the wings did not come into the centre, I wonder why? The centres were set in defence mode all game, I wonder why? I think Gats was more intrested in the boot of 1/2p to win the game, with Jouber as ref. Hibbards throwing is getting worse, he did shore up the scrum when he came on and made a few carries but when you cannot get the ball on your own lineout, makes it bloody hard to get any parity. Australia played all the rugby today and IMHO deserved the win, just. A very negative d
  14. Good shot, I am yet to shoot at a live target, out of curiosity why did you not give the bird castings? TC
  15. The old pairing of Lidiate and Warburton could produce some turnovers, if they are allowed to compete for the ball this week? Youngs in theory should speed up delivery to Sexton and get JD2 /BOD in to the game closer to the gain line, giving us more momentum. Looking at the team it could work out well. TC
  16. Teams for the second test. British & Irish Lions 15 Leigh Halfpenny (Cardiff Blues, Wales) 14 George North (Scarlets, Wales) 13 Brian O'Driscoll (Leinster, Ireland) 12 Jonathan Davies Scarlets, Wales) 11 Tommy Bowe (Ulster, Ireland) 10 Jonathan Sexton (Leinster, Ireland) 9 Ben Youngs (Leicester Tigers, England) 8 Jamie Heaslip (Leinster, Ireland) 7 Sam Warburton (Cardiff Blues, Wales, Cap) 6 Dan Lydiate (Newport G Dragons, Wales) 5 Geoff Parling (Leicester Tigers, England) 4 Alun Wyn Jones (Ospreys, Wales) 3 Adam Jones (Ospreys, Wales) 2 Tom Youngs (Leicester Tigers, England) 1 Mako Vun
  17. Do you know you really are a breath of fresh air, you are not afraid of failing, you'll have a go if it does not work out, then you have tried and learnt from the experience . Brilliant. TC
  18. I do find it amusing that all the ney-sayers on this thread are working of supposition having never worked a HPR. You quote one instance where a dog did fail, and class all HPR the same? My opinion of the scenario you stated, was that the dog did fail on the retrieve by coming on point. Your assumtion was that the line of fall was visable, to a human maybe, but and this is just theory, perhaps it was not that visable to the dog being approx 3ft shorter than a human. Your assumtion is that HPR work the same as Labs they do not. In that scenario you quoted I would have done the same except b
  19. Fecking Morrisons went to buy new potatos there this week and they wanted £3 per kilo for Pembroke potatoes that were only £2 in Asda. All the veg is 20 to 30p dearer there compared to asda and most of it is class 2 Morrisons are fecking robbing barstewards. TC
  20. When I was a kid we had a sprocker, that would track down any escaped pet rabbit but would not touch them. TC
  21. your right I haven't shot over them but the times I have seen them out I honestly don't know how you would stop them from ranging to far other than keeping them at heal you say you havn't knocked other breeds that's not strictly true as you is it ? by stating (not do better than gwp!).as for qualified who is it's just my opinion giving in the reply to your post and by the way TC you must be as old as me a.t.b. That is the populer misconception about HPR you do not need to stop them ranging, in fact you should encourage it, even for rough shooting, as you will cover twice the ground in
  22. It's each to their own I suppose, in the fifty odd years I have been into field sports I have had most breeds of working dogs Labs, Spaniels, lurchers, terriers and of course the GWP's. The only dog I would chose out of that list as one dog scenario, would be the GWP. As a bye if you have never shot over them, how do you know they are not for you? How are you qualified to disagree "THAT A ROUGH SHOOTER COULD NOT DO BETTER THAN A GWP." You may not like the idea, thats fair enough, everybreed of dog has it's devotees, I have not knocked any other breed save to say that the GWP can do most ot
  23. Has the dog had his terrible teens yet? Around the thirteen months age they get a period where you could swear you had never trained the dog. It usually lasts a couple of months where the dog is constantly trying you. The first one I had it drove me nuts. Yet by the time he was fifteen months he had settled and was doing everything he should. You are right about the different working style, and then never stop learning they will take to almost any type of work just show them what you need them to do and they will do it. My first one was bought to use with the hawk and both his parents and
