    It's your choice, but you are missing out by not adding a selvedge, not from the wear angle ( I have nets that are over 20 years old here and no sign of wear at all) but from the net sitting right on the lines. By adding a selvedge you get a more uniform spread of meshes. Because of the way the hand made nets are made the knots run horizontally when made into a long net, when you just add a running line to the edge of the net, the net still retains the memory of the way the knots lie so it naturally stretches out along the lines.     Funnily enough no, we caught very few turbot with them, as this area has a few on the Helwick bank but they only run to a pound or so. At the begining of the year Feb March we would catch Ray, the odd big Cod, and oddly enough small codling that would be caught by the teeth on the knots. big Angler fish, big Flounders 3lb plus after spawning, and depending on the type of ground lobsters and crab.     When I made ray nets they were rigged with a 6mm double polypropylene head rope. But they were fished on neap tides where there was hardly any run of tide. I take it you will be fishing it off the beach. If so just use the wash balls and stays on the up tide side of the net one about every 15 to 20 yards would be enough to keep the bag open. The problem is when it comes to fixed nets it all depends what the run of tide is in your area. on the 8 metre + tides here you have mooring buoys being dragged under so trying to guage what amount of bouyancy is needed in your area is near on impossib

    Crystal or pressed glass? If they are chippendale pressed glass the smaller pieces are a couple of quid and the larger pieces are a bit more. You seem to know how to do completed listings on ebay do some homework. Some of the designer glass esspecially the Scandernavian stuff fetches tidy money. Murano is a waste of time. TC

    Just has a little shock, Sunday morning I was haveing the last walk around the local booty, when I spotted a large glass jug that had the emblems of Smirinoff, Pimms etc on it, so picked it up and it was a cocktail jug with measures and different recipies and the quantities etched in to the jug.     Numorous allegations in the 12 years he was in the job. That in it's self does not mean that he is automatucally guilty, but given the video evidence together with the past alligations it does not look good. In all honesty I feel he should be brought to trial. Nothing more nothing less. TC

    Don't bother with the boots as they will not last a couple of weeks. I bought some last year and wore them on a frozen morning and the soles split. Took them back and had a new pair and the same happened. Once the soles get cold they crack when they bend. TC

So what if he did give the police some lip, he obviously got told to dissapear and was in the proccess of doing so when the hard nut pushed him to the ground and with his hands in his pockets could not break the fall.     Saturday morning I bought a load of old coins in a basket for a fiver. Among the coins were £17.50 in old large 50p pieces, a 1797 britannia penny, a 1734 george ll half penny, 2 george lll halfpennys, 5 half crowns that went for scrap 925 silver, a gothic florin, a couple of normal florins, 3 silver threepenny bits and a groat (silver 4 penny piece) a nice little earner. When I took the old 50's into the bank they told me you can even exchange pre decimal coins as long as you make the value up to a pound. Not a bad little earner. TC
