  1. Council tax certainly pays for the services i have quoted.
  2. The debt is going up at £5000 a second by the way........(true!) so enjoy, enjoy ! Lol None of which is anything to do with travellers not paying taxes or NI. All the above is politics, if you don't like it change it, stand for parliament or lobby your MP etc. Everything in society needs paying for roads, street lighting, everything,. It is impossible to live in this country and not benefit from what tax has paid for, so everyone should pay tax.
  3. I don't agree with you on that. Taxes pay for everything in society education, GP surgeries, hospitals etc, police, defence etc. Now if travellers or anyone else that doesn't pay taxes didn't benefit from anything taxes pay for then fine they would have a case for not paying in. However that isn't the case, all of society benefits from the services that tax pays for.
  4. From your picture it looks like Slinky has not cubbed this year so the cub is most likely a rival vixens. Whether it was dead when she came across it or she has killed it we will never know but if she did it is unusual for a vixen to kill cubs. I have known another barren vixen take up the feeding of cubs when their mother met with mishap on more than one occasion.
  5. Yes there is always another but will it be as good as Slinky?
  6. Very interesting to see pictures of the process. How do you cut the slot for the blade?
  7. Those Opinels look really good, you have done an excellent job on them.
  8. Well done getting on terms with your nemesis. Whenever i have succeeded in killing a particularly good adversary i feel both elated at my success and a twinge of regret that i no longer have a worthy foe, if that makes sense.
  9. What have crows etc got to do with the virus??
  10. Wherever travellers go there is a trail of grief and always has been long before drugs became a thing. They turned up at a council owned set of sports fields not too far from here last year and in the two days they where there caused destruction. Mounds of crap tipped off tipper trucks and the football pitches etc ripped up by riding quad bikes on them whilst the ground was wet. It cost the council a fortune to pick up and dispose of the rubbish and to returf the playing fields. The kids who played there had to find alternative grounds for twelve months.
  11. Be careful of thinking a scope is good by watching a video through it. Some scopes recording facilities bypass what your actually seeing so can make a poor scope look much better than it is. A mate of mine has a tendency to buy all sorts of night vision gear that people hype up just to see if they are any good. To date he still will only use his Drone pro for foxing. He also has an ATN 4k which neither of us was particularly impressed with. However he has now downloaded it with the latest firmware from ATN and he says it has improved it tremendously. He currently has it sat on his latest
  12. There is a chap on youtube called Peter Nobes who does fox shooting vids in Australia. There are plenty to go at as he has been doing them for a few years. He always uses ATN scopes because i think they are about the easiest to get hold of in Australia. He does shoot a lot of foxes and is worth a watch whilst we are in Lockdown.
  13. I know a bloke who runs a shoot on a large expanse of agricultural land and he spotted a big white van parked up near a wood one night just before dark. He set off to try to get to it before they left but didn't manage to. He had suspicions of someone dumping foxes for a while so he went home and got his lamp and rifle. He finished up shooting eleven in less than an hour.
  14. There will quite likely be more to it than what has been reported or what you have heard.
  15. The first week of our enforced lockdown i got a call from a good friends son. A fox was visiting him every night and taking chickens from around the yard. He has several stables and horses, a cattery and his own personal dog kennels on this yard. He also owns the field directly behind the yard and the one to the right of that one. I have shot foxes for him here before and it is a good little spot, easy access and the fields rise up in front of you. I entered his farthest field through a metal gate and turned immediately left. I had stopped in a gate hole with a hedge running away from me separ
  16. I have had them run in and bite the foxpro once or twice. One even ran in and jumped up to the caller whilst it was on a hide pole and bit it.
  17. Simple solution, Bring in the army and shoot a few stone dead, they won't be so keen on gathering then.
  18. If the idiots took the time to watch the news every night and saw the poor people fighting for their lives on ventilators surrounded by doctors and nurses, they might have a different opinion than congregating as if nothing is happening.
  19. Au contraire SD, that dastardly swine that stole your dog strongly resembles a ferret looking through a Brillo pad in that beard.?
  20. That woodcock was unlucky flying into the fence post.?
  21. I have one of those Hatsan things here, i just keep it to lend people who haven't got a gun if i take them pigeoning or something. To be honest it hasn't missed a beat yet but i couldn't shoot it because the fore end and stock are quite big and i don't like that.
  22. Just loaded eighty .204 rounds and am in the process of loading another hundred or so, might as well use the time wisely.
  23. Forget the sx4 and look for a new or newish sx3. I have one here that my daughter shoots with, we bought it new last year. The sx3 is fully adjustable but the sx4 isn't. I like the sx3 it's a nice gun to shoot and cycles well.
