So you're left handed as well eh! Life can be cruel! If you shoot a Tikka now i don't think you would of been happy with any of the others, you would always be comparing them and none of them have Tikka build quality.

I have always thought that the Hornets are the rifles that the hmr wanted to be and never was. I cured the poor ammo issues with my hmr when i got rid of it and bought a hornet instead. I had the 17Hornet but eventually sold it and bought another .204 instead. I might at some point get a .22 Hornet.

Velocity, the faster you go the flatter the trajectory. Be careful with that damn mouse gun make sure every shot has exited the barrel. They are still turning up at my RFDs having had ammo issues.

I usually take the bladder out of vixens at this time of year and empty the contents into a small plastic tub with a secure lid. I do this especially with ones in heat then use it to attract dogs to the spot where i want to kill them. It works a treat, always have disposable latex gloves with me.

From what i am told by a mate who uses one, the sidewinder should work really well with the 007.
-
If you have a 007 that isn't as good as your photon then you have a defective 007 or it is on a scope that isn't compatible with the 007.
-
I haven't used the 007 but i agree about the Drone/ENV10 . However i haven't seen a s/h Drone at 1k they have all been £1300/£1400 and a new one at £2140. It all depends how serious you are at killing foxes, i personally wouldn't have anything less than my Drone. I can be out 4/5 nights a week foxing and is really the shooting i do most of but if you are only going once in a blue moon is it really worth the investment. The pard 008 is a handy little cost effective unit and Pulsar have nothing as good for three times the price.
-
The pard 008 is a good little unit for the money, especially when used in conjunction with a solaris srx laser. I wouldn't bother with the lrf if you are using a flat shooting calibre, the chances of using it would be limited as well if the foxes are anything like they are around here.

I don't like shooting hares, i have done but instantly regretted it. Probably down to the fact i think hare selection for breeding should be done with a decent lurcher.

This is another option and albeit on the surface looks like a cheap one it is probably more expensive. Quality quick release mounts are not cheap and you need quality ones to have repeatability. Then what do you change your quality day scope for? Another day scope but of a lot less quality so that it will work with an add on, and add on's are only ever a compromise imho. Or a decent dedicated scope which will be circa 2k. It requires a lot of thinking about before an expensive mistake is made. I personally opted for two completely different set ups , daytime Tikka T3 superv

Nissan micras are cheap to run but I wouldn't have one of those f*****s either!

Absolutely!

For what it's worth I would avoid a .223, been there done that didn't like it one bit. Consider a .204 as a dedicated foxing rifle or if you must go for the 22.250.

I use a spray bottle full of water that has been used to boil horse hoof trimmings to attract them to a bait spot initially. I have to boil it outside and you don't ever want to spill it on yourself, it stinks horrible but is irresistible to foxes .

After my pigeon shooting session last week i gave my mate a bag of them to use as fox bait. He told me that after the first night of baiting the pigeon was going every night. The weather being as it was put a dampener on proceedings though, literally. It has been wet every night for weeks but Tuesday night was dry at last. I rang him to see if he fancied having a look about to see what we could find and yes he would be ready for eight forty five. The land we were headed for is big open ground with no livestock barring some chickens belonging to one of the land owners, it is all arable land

You don't even need to change the spring you can just dremmel a couple of coils off it to lighten it.

Never used h4895 but i have used BL-C2 in .243 very successfully. I can download the 204 to replicate 17 rem by using barnes varmint grenades at 26grn and i have done so in the past but my go to load for 204 remains h322 with 32grn hornadys. I tried 223 years ago but didn't like it, no good for round here it's not flat enough.

To be honest if you are checking the teeth as i was , it would be obvious, perhaps not to Stevie Wonder though.?

I decided to go out foxing tonight in pursuit of a chicken killer. Despite all the bangs and flashing in the distance from fireworks the fox was mooching about, much to my surprise. It came flying in to "vixen on heat" and due to my mate flapping about because he wasn't ready it exited the field sharpish. It crossed a single track lane and entered the field opposite. I could see the gate was open and decided to drive into the gate hole to see if i could find it again. It didn't take long to find it in the thermal but it knew we where there aswell. It made it's way at a fast trot across the fie

My rifle is a Tikka T3 supervarmint in .204. I homeload using Hornady brass, Hornady 32grn vmax bullets, Federal 205 match primers and Hodgdon h322 powder. Velocity from the 20" barrel is just over 4,200fps. I have a Drone pro x10 fitted on a neil McKillop mount and for illumination a Solaris SRX 500mw laser infrared. I am zeroed at two hundred and thirty yards which is approx one inch high at one hundred yards and two inches low at three hundred and twenty yards. I rarely if ever have to use any holdover. I use a Pulsar Helion XQ50 thermal spotter and the Drone can positively id well beyond s

If you want a good trigger for a Tikka then consider Tikka's own set trigger. I have them on my supervarmints and they are superb, they are set to 8oz.

I am probably a bit slow because i still don't understand, why would anyone hate the likes of your daughter?
