No i didn't bother with thermals i hadn't realised it was as cold as it was. I didn't get too cold to be honest as i was only out a couple of hours and my jumper and coat are quite warm although my legs where feeling it a bit.

I have had a cold or something similar for the past week but as i am on the back end of it now i had a yearning to get out tonight. The ex next door neighbour of mine has been baiting a fox for several weeks now. He has a collection of fancy ducks and geese and doesn't want old Reynard getting amongst them. So he baits them to a spot just the other side of his garden hedge on a field belonging to an old dear down the road from him. She gave him permission for me to kill them on there. I have had a trail cam up but it wasn't coming at any particular time, it varied from six thirty pm to seven a

Good shooting, but the thread is worth f/a without pics, stop being bone idle and take pics. ?

I don't think they are so bad, certainly not as heavy as my Extrema.

I'll tell you what is a good auto and very much underrated, the Baikal mp153. My son has one and it hasn't missed a beat in ten years. Have a look on youtube at the bloke testing it in ice and pouring buckets of sludge on it.

I have three semi autos here. A Berretta Extrema two, A Winchester sx3 and a Hatsan. The Berretta is a good quality auto albeit a bit heavy and i use it for the marsh 31/2" cartridges for geese. The Winchester is a very good lightish auto that can be used pigeoning etc even on the geese as it is chambered 31/2". I never use the Hatsan it is just there in case i am going with someone who needs a gun. The Winchesters are good value for money and the sx3 is better than the sx4.

If you are thinking of an upgrade look at the Black ENV10 . A proper 10x optical magnification instead of "Lego fox" digital magnification. It has the best near eye display available on digital units and the best camera and sensor. It is simply leagues apart from the Pulsar stuff. More expensive but you will not need to upgrade in the future because ( A) it will always be capable of killing foxes at extended ranges if required with a second to none picture quality and (B) It has been the top digital scope for years now and there is nothing better to upgrade to. . It can also be used to shoot i

Awesome!

That damage is caused by leaving a mod on. I know a gamekeeper that did that and eventually the mod seized on and it sprayed bullets everywhere. Walk away there are plenty of T3s and you needn't buy trouble.

FAC airguns have a place in the cabinet for when using a rimfire is too dangerous. One example is controlling rabbits in a caravan park, far too dangerous for a rimfire. I do agree however that the price of air rifles is extortionate and i believe that is because of the hassle people have to go through to get a FAC. Most cannot be bothered with it and so choose the 12ftlb route, manufacturers and importers know this and consequently bump the prices up. My FAC air rifle was seven hundred pounds new, it is a BSA R10 and does everything i need it to do. The quality of a Howa is

It was foggy here on Sunday so i didn't bother with the usual duck flighting on the pits. Yes Monday was very low cloud all day so we just got that constant dampness in the air, thankfully it cleared about tea time.

I think i have mentioned before that once a month or so i go with a chap in our syndicate to one or the other of his two shoots to control foxes. Well that's where i was headed for on Monday night. The farmer had seen one about and said it was "bold as brass". This particular shoot consists of three farms together and we went to the one which had seen the fox first. The ground at the moment is particularly wet, sodden in fact so we would be sticking to the tracks. The first place we tried was the track that leads to the farm, there is a place on this track that overlooks the farm/buildings and

Every single one i have tried and they are numerous, has jammed. Maybe i am just unlucky but i wouldn't even consider one now, especially with subs.

Yes please Stav.

Excessive oil is definately what you don't need on a guns working bits.

I think 20g is my favourite calibre. I have two, a side by side AYA no4 and a McNab Highlander o/u. I regularly shoot them on game shooting days and pigeon and crow decoying. I also think they kill better than a twelve bore probably because they have a longer shot string.

Good shooting! you'll never shoot owt sat in front of the fire.

I had an N750 for three years and killed a lot of foxes with it. I have only really two gripes with them. (1) They can white out with a lot of i/r so you need an adjustable mount that you can alter quickly with your fingertips, so that you are shooting in the edge of the light. (2) The magnification is only four times and fitting doublers is very problamatic. If you fit a doubler you will have poi issues. The only person i know who hasn't had such problems is a toolmaker who manufactured a whole new front end for his scope out of alloy and it took him two days on a lathe and milling machine.

Well you are wrong so be quiet! ? -
My mate has one on a .204 and has had no issues with it.

Anyone selling a cheap .17 HMR ?

Be careful buying second hand it may be shot out. Edgar Bros say the czs are only good for 7,000 rounds. The powder in the cartridges are very corrosive and when shot the hot air in the moderator cools and forms a liquid that is corrosive to the barrel. -
protruding through the aperture in the roof. A bit like Rommel i would imagine. On the third stop to scan with the thermal i spotted a faint glow coming from a depression in the ground. I had no idea what it was but readied the rifle in case. I gave a lip squeak and two fox heads appeared out of the ground, aiming straight at the left hand one i got a shot off quickly and not only saw it drop but the noise was confirmation of a hit. After quickly recycling the bolt i found the second one had only gone about ten yards and was looking straight at me. I set the trigger and got another shot off wi
