  1. Biggest one I've ever taken I think. I'm going to get him weighed if i can find my fishing scales. Proper chunky lad he is....
  2. where's it say they were guttedThey look gutted to me, if that buck wasn't gutted it would have a paunch like it had swallowed a space hopper...deer don't take long to swell up IMO.See I thought the does next to the buck had started to swell? I see what you mean but i think that's her ribcage from the front angle..... when they've been laid for a while their stomachs will swell so that they're bigger than the ribcage. But thats JMo.....

  4. well.....the fact that they've been gutted suggests to me they were hardly 'dumped'...... Every year at about this time they wheel the same old crap out about crackdowns...
  5. Brings back a few memories, used to be a ton of bunnies there, but now they're all but gone... ,....just a tech thing; if you up your ISO a bit you'd be able to up the shutter speed and the shots would be a tad crisper.....
  6. It's gone into the freezer with the other four coloured ones i've caught...i want to get them taxidermied, but on the cheap..lol..
  7. Today............. Nice, but the holy grail would be a white one in each side of the barrel traps...
  8. Eddie I do similar to you, but my trigger wires are much longer and i have some 22 gauge brass wire stretched taut between them. The animals actually trip the trap by standing on the wire i often think......in single ended cubbys i really like the coni-pans for head strike kills.
  9. Here's a rat that's living on borrowed time......anyone got any good trailcam photo's?
  10. A dog should learn that its not his right to run everytime and when its not his turn he needs to behave until his turn comes around. Ive been out with lads whos dogs start yapping when my dogs running because they have always been used to being slipped every time. I used to run two dogs. One on and one off the slip, taking it in turn to run a rabbit, and so getting lots more runs in a night. Hi Jeemes, you are correct about a dog's manners, but I think that they should have those manners before they even start lamping. We each do things our own little way and as long as you're happy then tha
  11. But what is it 'learning'? IMO it's learning nothing and getting frustrated to boot............ solo all the way for me, until they're running the beam well......but it's each to their own...
  12. He line bred saluki greyhound lurcher for many generations.....tramp, nipper etc...
  13. some meat on them back legs for a saluki, j darcy Aye....he's at the gym regular...
  14. did you not write a book on the strong dogs of ireland ? No, my company published a book of historical photos. I personally do not need, or agree, that there is a place for 'draw dogs' in today's terrierwork. I just don't. But, like I say, that's just my personal opinion.
  15. Your dog will not learn anything from watching another dog matey.
  16. I would imagine the french have got too much respect for the quarry to use such a dog......
  17. Well, put it this way, I wouldn't be wanting to take a chance with a few branches being legal. I'm sure the 'tunnel' would have to be substantial or you'd run foul of the law. But, it's each to their own....
  18. Why not try making it from the previous weeks birds/ game...? rabbit/pheasant/pigeon etc?
  19. Helly Hanson......IMO best you can get for the price.....if price is no option then Gill.
