  1. Mine are around five foot mark. If there is anything, and i mean anything, they can climb up they will do. Once they find a purchase they can get to work knawing through the wire. It doesn't take long for then chisel-like teeth to get through 0.7 seven strand wire! And anyone who has done any amount of squirrel snaring will have had chew-offs, it's just the nature of the beast. there's lots to be learned from watching videos of squirrels reactions to snares. the height they run the pole always varies and i have to say that some of the heights to the bottom of the wire need to be taken with a
  2. This is one of mine....way before I got the set-up nailed on. It was a bit of a proto-type, but nowhere near the finished article...still, it caught. but it didn't catch good enough. The next set up really nailed 'em. Simple and very very effective.
  3. So, you're saying the squirrel doesn't grab hold of the branches, instead it jumps straight down? It's remarkable because in practically all the instances I've filmed squirrel snaring, if theres any branches at all below the pole the squirrels will grab onto these. Then they can chew through the snare. How come the squirrels on your pole don't grab those lower branches? I'm intrigued...
  4. The pegs holding the name are very lightly set so once the snare closes the squirrel falls ... There is enough wire to hang the squirrel below the branch so it's all good ... I have never had a chewed wire on this set ....... I would have thought the squirrel would have just grabbed hold of the branches below the snare 'pole'.....in fact, the 'pole' itself looks a bit too wide. You must surely suffer from knocked snares??? I use a much narrower pole and funnel the squirrel into the middle of that with wire.....even then, there's still knocked wires.....
  5. Socks, in your 'snare' set-up, it looks like Mr Squirrel would be able to reach the other branches enough to bite his way through the wire. how have you been finding it?
  6. Socks I believe that kania set-up is not legal. There has to be a 'tunnel' leading into it to avoid non-target species. Just saying.
  7. I have a bushnell and rate it. I am looking at getting another one, ideally a camera that records for 180 seconds and that will take stills at the same time.
  8. I don't think its 'very unlikely' UKIP will be in power. I wonder what odds the bookies will give...? I think British Politics are going to be in for a shock in the coming year.... :victory:
  9. The opposite more like! I was just about to say that! Nothing attracts a fox like another fox...
  10. So who do you support now then Gnash? and who did you vote for in the last election?
  11. Not to be rude....but im just curious as to why you believe him ?.....do you think you are a better judge of character than people who dont believe him ? after all said and done most of us want pretty much the same thing so to put every bit of faith in this man as you clearly do what is it about him as a human being that gives you such confidence in his words ? No i don't think I'm better than anyone at anything. But he comes across totally different than all the others. You know where you stand with him, he doesn't waltz around in the grey areas desperate not to upset anyone. He is black
  12. Farage is BY FAR the most down to earth leader of any of our main political parties. He talks the most common sense and I actually believe him. The fact that he is not afraid to speak his mind gives hope that he will be honest. I hope that the next election UKIP get in and change this country.
  13. Spread out its flight feathers, on them will be the name and address of it's owner, together with the phone number.
  14. You're not getting it 'that' much lower than a coni IMO, and the way that's set has a very real chance of a foul catch of the animals hind quarters. I will see if i can find them for sale anywhere, but it looks a bit fiddley.... JMHO.
  15. Yea seen these before, easy install, but like timber, used in conjunction with the trap wires, they sit up an inch or more high from the base of the trap when set! I'm looking for a pan which sits closer to ground level! IMO it should reduce trap avoidance! Jesus im a Choosey f****r! Lol Anyway, sorry for drifting off OP As far as i'm aware the metal coni-pans will be the lowest you can get. To get any lower you'd have to bend the triggers back on themselves. What exactly are you after? I don't think you're going to find what you're looking for....the coni-pans work well, but they

  17. Critters? You turning yank, when you getting your crocket hat Stop messing with shite traps lol Ha ha , well you want to prize yourself from under your lass's thumb and get out you big-nosed messer. You stick to your daft guns ha ha ha   amateur.
  18. I've bought traps from all over Us and into canada and never been asked for a license.
  19. It's not cheap..i've shipped a few over and they work out bloody expensive in the end....
  20. Not really matey, on the BG the arms come together , on the koro there is only one arm. I have all the koro sizes and whilst they are a powerful trap they have flaws that can/could result in foul catches.
  21. The critter steps on the plate and that closes the jaws with power. This is not a legal trap in the UK, obviously.
