  1. Hi, you can shoot pigeons at night, as long as you do not use an artificial light.
  2. To be honest, from what I've seen the MK4 is a bit inhumane......I'm sure there'll be another trap being invented that will take over from it....
  3. Hi Mr Wilkes, do you ever ring on an island on a river? Get a few pics put up mate...
  4. What book? news to me....I don't know enough to do one....maybe in 30 years time..lol
  5. This is pathetic....money should be put into the wildlife we still have rather than introducing another apex predator. It's a theme park to make money, no more, no less.
  6. I picked one up and was applying for the licence but the taxidermist had a long waiting list so I didn't bother with it. I spoke to the relevant bodies and was told they HAD to be licensed. To have an otter or any part of an otter was a big no no, even if rta'd. Well, my mate took his otter i and it got done straight away. All legal and certified. Also people sell otter trophies all the time....even on ebay. But who know eh? It's confusing...
  7. I'm not sure, but I reckon moles go backward as well as forward, and IMO it is going backward how they get caught. Could it have been in an altercation with another mole at the time and backing away? TC It might have been practicing the moonwalk...who knows...
  8. Thats a shame......I thought that ivomec might have killed the mites......poor bird...I do love chaffys.
  9. I'd be thinking of catching that bird up and applying a spot of ivomec on it......
  10. Paulus, they are giving the holes a spring clean.......this is prior to them starting to build, using moss and then finishing with feather/hair.....like I said earlier, the blue tits have their chicks hatching to co-incide with the explosion of edible protein available...
  11. iv got pics of a robins on eggs and 2 longtail tits nests with eggs in so dont see why a blue tit wont be on eggs Trust me...they won't. Both robin and Ltt are early breeders, blue tits are not. You can easily prove me wrong pip, just check a few nest boxes out and see how many eggs you find.....
  12. I can see the topic on the horizon "Which cross is best for smashing moles"?....
  13. Unless game fish are the target, but then only specific baits may be used. These are generally flies, spinners (lures) and worm. This varies from one region to the next.
  14. Why would you need a dog? I can see no benefit?
  15. I think you can get otters done, as long as they are RTA's. A friend of mine got one done two years ago and everythings above board.
  16. I'm not sure, but I reckon moles go backward as well as forward, and IMO it is going backward how they get caught.
  17. Goshawking, that's a once in a lifetime catch...I'm envious!!! :notworthy:
  18. There's a nest just at the bottom of my road, They use the same place every year, right under an overhang...
  19. Aye, not only was it in backward it was also on its side. This is the second I've had this season like this. Well spotted.....
  20. Something not quite right....anyone guess what it is?
  21. I have had the same experiences when watching ltt nests. Magpies seem to get about 75% of them. Nothing nicer than seeing a band of ltt in the tree's, searching for tiny insects as a family....
