  1. Buy a filter kit. And a tripod. And a release. In winter I often use a graduating filter with a touch of blue tint to the top 50%, and it looks awesome. Couple this with a polarisor and there's nothing you can't capture IMO. Polarising filters are the most under rated thing in photography... It doesn't matter about what your camera settings are, it's about the light that comes through the lens.
  2. I use a different tactic..... if I want to do 'brooding' landscapes......
  3. Looks good enough to me.....if they squabble you could always retro-fit a partition...
  4. Looks good to me. make sure you can remove it to clean and it may be worth using a thick stain to tighten up any cracks that might harbour mites.
  5. How are the foxes causing a nuisance? are they taking stock/poultry?
  6. I just love that noise when they are pairing up and the male is drumming. First time I heard it I was coming off the mountain at dusk, put the willies up me, I was only about 12. https://youtu.be/LuDZVc5agFU TC Nope......
  7. Its a Lackey moth, they make a tent and feed all around it before moving to another. I have bred these a few times. very nice caterpillar, but the moth isn't anything too spesh to look at. They feed mainly on hawthorn and blackthorn, but i have also used plum to rear them....nice find.
  8. Just a guess.........Oystercatcher....

    Peacocks

OK, I will stand corrected here, but, if a wild/feral bird/animal is not named on the schedule list of quarry/vermin species then it legally cannot be shot. You can only legally shoot quarry species and vermin as per the statutes. However, on the flip side, the peacock will not be protected, per se, and there is nothing to stop a person catching one in a cage trap/feeder trap and killing it. However, the peacock may belong to someone so then you'd have to hand it back over to them or it could be construed as theft. It is a grey area of the law and, I believe it would pivot on location of
  10. IMO the lens looks 'soft'. This is not a focus issue, but a lens quality issue. To freeze water drops you'll have to crank the speed up to 1000, or go the other way and get it on a tripod and shoot at 1/2 sec with a deep dof to create a liquid effect of the water....
  11. In what way do you want to improve the shots? make them crisper?
  12. I think the Tv license should now be scrapped also.....that will quieten the BBC down somewhat.
  13. I'd have thought someone would have gotten it after my 'oriental' clue........ I'll give you a clue, there's more over here than in their native homeland......
  14. Nope the clues in the box Is it a type of duck..... Aromatic crispy, or some other oriental variety...

  16. I used to make sure mine had oyster grit and a bit of conditioning seed too. I always left the cock with the hen, never had any problems. Not with the canaries anyway, but had plenty of problems with the british! lol
  17. When there is 'white' bluebells around they are generally seen as hybrids with the spanish bluebell. Having looked at the pic closely, I think that all the bluebells in the pic, both colours, are Spanish. But I will stand corrected. The stems are a bit of a give away... A harebell is different. But that's only my opinion..... Keep the pics coming....
  18. IMO for small lines, such as #3 and#4 then I think the WF is best as you can shoot it a little better. Thats JMHO.
  19. The problem with SNP, as soon as they are truly in charge of Scotland, they will ruin all countrysports. Maybe fishing might be ok, but the rest will be squeezed and squeezed til they cannot exist. I think there there will be another referendum within 18 months, and they'll keep on having them until they win. I know it might sound idylic to have independance, but I think there's going to be a hell of a lot in shock once the dust of euphoria settles and suddenly the country starts filling up with people who will work for £30 a day, then there will be no jobs for scottish people....the cry then
