  1. Aye , it's a work of art made from Lichen, Moss and cobwebs. They are unbelievable and take many weeks to make. The LTT isn't actually a tit, it is a branch off from the group of birds collectively known as babblers. I have a great fondness for them, hand reared a clutch about 2005 i think....
  2. I take all my hare shots and action dog shots with 7D's. I could go full frame with the 5D mk2 or 3, BUT, and it's a bit BUT, I'd lose 40% focal length and that is a hell of a big downfall. I had this conversation with someone a few years back. They said that it wouldn't matter as the pic can be cropped and the pixels would take it. So we both went out, took our cameras and took shots of exactly the same runs the dogs had. I think I might have been using a 40D or 50D at that time, but anyway, I got the greater % of shots and the other photographer only had usable pics when the action was very
  3. But then Labour will just form a govt with the SNP and we will be royally up the creek without a paddle. If that's the case I think I will pack work in move to Scotland and live off benifits that will be the best way to get on, that is if I can get a house before the flood gates are wedged open and all the houses are taken by EU migrants.. Not neccesarily, I think the labour vote will be diluted in their usual strongholds of areas of scotland.
  4. snp will really hit labour hard......
  5. I've been trying these for the last couple of days. terrible, they are not water repellant.....avoid!
  6. Warblers wouldn't be singing this early mate I wouldn't think..... that bird is a dunnock, without a shadow of a doubt.
  7. It's 100% a Dunnock. You wouldn't see a Garden Warbler this early.....
  8. Aye....they are actually one of the later birds to lay, due to the fact that they only have one clutch but it tends to be a big one and their timing has to be spot on due to the reliance on caterpillars and larvae needed to feed a ravenous brood. They'll be checking the holes out now, maybe thinking about doing a bit of spring cleaning.
  9. I would be surprised if a blue tit has young at this time of year. There is no food for the young. In fact, I'd go further and say that I would be surprised to see a blue tit on eggs even. The way to tell if the wren is using the nest is to look for a feathered lining....and fresh moss to the entrance hole.... Cock nests are always bare.
  10. Good pics mate....IMO you should get a better lens, that will sharpen them up and make them even better....
  11. Not bad for £230.... You got yourself a bargain there...I hope you thanked the guy who you bought it off...
  12. sealand is crap gear mate...hope you get a refund..... I bought some leggings from duck-dri last year. They have lasted me well, all season so far. Still waterproof.
  13. and very cheap @ £300 Less than that i bet
  14. Somethings odd here....how does the dog know to run the beam when it's never been out before.....
  15. On the lamp 50 yards is a hell of a long way. 30 yards on the lamp looks like 50 yards in the light. I would imagine that the distance was much closer than 50 yards. IMO, forget hunting now, start up again in August when the rabbits are young and green.
  16. HHmmm...what about when the RSPB are shooting 'predators' to try and help breeding birds.
  17. then why replace it with a 70-200mm f2.8 L is usm then Because the 55mm isn't really long enough for some of the shots. In actual fact, I got the 70-200 for a wedding. It is not a good lens, and I would never recommend it to anyone. Mine is far too soft and has focus issues, despite being back to Canon. It's going back again soon....
  18. Paulus, If i had your camera and you had mine, who do you think would take the best wildlife pics..... My best pic ever was taken with a 18-55 kit lense....

I think this case is so stomach-turning that it should really get onto the telly.....
  20. It doesn't look like a stoat to me.....
