  1. you got a cybershot by any chance? thats what ive got, good camera's fora mobile, canny pics... ive never seen a lizard like that before, how big was it, its hard to get the scale from the pics.
  2. Hi Bobo, didnt know you kept rollers, I used to keep tumblers on a hobby level, and would love to get back into pigeons when I move into a larger place. So il likely be pestering you for advice in the near future all the best M
  3. Woods, they look like smashing pups mate, I hope they hunt as well as I think they will, all the very best with them
  4. This is not entirely true, as even very good quality birds will likely undergo stress when they are transported to your pens from the farm, if the weather happens to take a change for the worse, or they are harried by predators, these high levels of stress can lead to the birds immune systems kind of shutting down, allowing illnesses to effect them more. Therefore it is a very wise precaution to have a general madication added to the feed for about the first 10 days. I never bothered with the flubenvet, as I treated my birds with a much cheaper but very effective alternative.
  5. Looking forward to picking mine up mate, they look great!
  6. I only had reds in my area until about 5 years ago, I caught the first greys in the area, but the reds soon succumbed to the pox disease. However I still do my bit, as I work in the red squirrel reserves and get payed to cull the greys. My feelings are, that unless your protecting a large pine block, your wasting your time trying to save the reds, ive seen many keepers down the valley try and fail, but if your like me, you will try anyway. Like has been said, contact the wildlife trust, and possibly a call to the forestry commision may pay off too.
  7. Ive also found top entry the best all-round. And if trapping crows in the past ive sat the trap on a square bale with good success, I also use eggs as bait and always crack one on top of the trap. Placing the trap next to a fence or small tree will also help get them on top. But I forget about using the larsen for the corvids once it has captured the breeding pairs on the land, (usually april for me) Any that are left(or that turn up after) are quicker killed using other methods, as they are not territorial enough to be tempted into the larsen.
  8. A friend of mine had one... he got rid as it was pure and simply a very fast foxhound in its working style, awesome nose... would have suited me, but not him, as he does far more lamping than hunting. Saying that, there can be differences in working style even within the same litter with crosses like this, so id play it by ear, and work with your dogs best qualities. all the best DnN
  9. another one bites the dust.... good lad brock!
  10. Do you mean the D1? I was thinking about a D3 unit, seems a bit better http://www.undergroundterriers.com/products.php
  11. hope it does the job well for you, he looks a topper
  12. From what ive seen, with enough work, some can become very good efficient killers.. but they sometimes have a grind getting there.
  13. Hello mate, my friend had a quadzilla, but it was trouble from the word go, and didnt last long. I took it out a few times and found it to lack any guts, and struggled with a trailer. And just felt cheap and nasty. I dare say in different hands it could have faired a bit better, but when asked to do some graft it couldnt hack it.
  14. thought it was just me! But I can vouch for Jamie2004's russels, dug to them plenty, and if i had space, id have a pup out of that litter, seen them at 3 weeks and they were looking very well, credit to Jamie.
  15. Cracking thread gents, and good pics too...... keep 'em coming!
  16. I wouldnt have sold a 150 bird duck shoot for less than 2000... so for a team of 8 guns this would be £250 each.
  17. Also, you can order the fox grids ready made, i think they are about 60 quid for 10.
  18. This may help mate I find that the wee bit of mesh on the inside of the pen, that is there to prevent birds from getting into the funnel from the pen isnt really needed if its narrow enough. ATB DnN
  19. Thats bad news mate Hopefully she will turn up, you have done all the right things.... at least she has been seen, so you know she wasn't stolen. When my old terrier was out on a walkabout he was picked up and dumped at a local vets, its lucky id rang earlier, as they would have sent him to a shelter. Best of luck with the search, let me know if I can be of any further assistance. ATB DnN
  20. Very well done mate, happy for you! And a cracking write up too.
