  1. Finally! I agree with something you say haha, yeah I give mine fish now and then, different types, or whatever I can catch, or buy cheaply.
  2. The only terrier ive had of his breeding was the only rough'un in the litter, and she was very border looking! Decent bitch too.
  3. I used to keeper a hill that was rife with adders in summer. The first season a labrador was bitten while picking up ducks, he was taken to the vets with a large swolen leg. Next day given all clear, but then suddenly died of kidney/liver failiour couple of days later. My sisters patt was bitten and she had to do mouth to mouth 5 times till she got anti-venom into it, but shes a vet and wasnt far from her practice. My old terrier killed a few, and luckily never got bitten. The last to die was the shepherds collie from a neighbouring farm, was simply found dead in the morning after being out l
  4. cracking pups them lads, credit where its due
  5. so if a farmer rings mid winter and says he has 2000 acres of mole infested fell ground, your going to come and trap them all for nothing?
  6. Thats a beauty, well done! I had a good'un from the [bANNED TEXT] in wensleydale, few years back, didnt weigh it but it was a hell of a lump and il always have a soft spot for those rivers... dont get fish like that where I live, not that im complaining like but its just game fishing here, had a few really nice chub as well. I remember watching an absolute monster barbel feeding from the kilgram lane bridge, near jervaulx thought it was a carp at first must have been well into double figures!
  7. whos slagging him off im just saying you shouldnt promisse people and dont end up doin it which is shit because i was looking forward to goin out with him i phoned him a couple of times and he said he hasent forgot ill phone you dont worry because i promisse ill take you out i lyk the fella hes good crack but ive learned not to rely on him which is probly the same with most people these days but theres just NO NEED to bring it up on a public forum, what happens between you and him is between you and him, not everyone on the hunting life ffs, plus its totally off topic as well...
  8. I suppose the main things are, that it holds a good shape when placed on a tealer, and that it can hold the right tension. Is the wire similar to the standard fox snare wire? It looks quite thick, but might be the pics...cheers
  9. Gotta agree SIMO that all sounds fecking delicious to me! Id also like to add a roast teal supper with roast veggies, and also got to agree with TIFF, love fruit, wild strawberries being the cream of the crop!
  10. They left an exemption in the law for cases of dogs catching game by accident, they need to prove that there was INTENT on your part.... if you did not intend for your dog to catch it, you did NOT commit an offence under the hunting act. BUT like has been said, there may be local by-laws relating to control of dogs in certain areas.
  11. nothing hard about it, you havent a clue what your talking about, yet you come on the thread telling experienced people what they can and cant do... maybe you can learn something from this? Maybe not
  12. I thought the topic was supposed to be about his DOGS breeding not a f*****g character breakdown, bunch of tits
  13. google 'mink trap' you will see tons of pics on there... as for bait, some things that have worked for me are fish, rabbit, game, tinned sardine, another thing that worked well for me is that potted meat paste(fishy type) you get in the wee jars... leave opened in a warm place for a couple days or so, you will smell when its ripened lol, then hey presto mink bait, just smear on back of trap and a bit on the back of footplate. Cover trap with either natural materials or make a wooden cover, so that it looks dark and inviting and easily accesible from the riverbank . good luck and good on you f
  14. well said mate, I find it hard to belive some folk can argue blindly about something the know jack shit about, this sites full of em. keep up the good work lads. All The Best DnN
  15. Ive once bred a litter about 7 years ago, in it were albino's, polecats, sandy's and light brown ferrets.... id call the ferrets in the original post a light polecat, not sandy. But who gives a shit really. My faves are albino as they are more visable in a hedge bottom.
  16. sounds great, wish I had done it when I was a kid, would have probably kept me out of a lot of trouble lol... he is a bundle of energy so it will do him the world of good to focus it into a sport like this. thanks and a big well done to golfinch junior! DnN
  17. I agree, just feed when your back from lamping, if they are fit enough they will be fine. I never feed mine before any work, theres just no need, no point risking your dogs life having guts full of food. Dogs run better with an empty gut, no huntsman would ever dream of feeding a pack of hounds before a hunt, and most tend to feed in the morning the day before the hunt, so they get near 24 hours to empty out.... you dont see hounds packing in half way through the day with lack of energy do you! take care DnN
  18. Hi Goldie, My son is only a toddler still, but im wanting to get him into kickboxing or similar when hes old enough... what age would they be able to start in your opinion? Thanks in advance.. DnN
  19. Had almost the exact same call myself, and it was an otter in my case.
