  8. one of mine... about 9 months here...
  9. You forgot to add- PRE BAN - Kay And GEM Yes I hunt rats with the ferrets if their small enough and want to do it... had some great success in the past, but none of the ferrets ive got today would be small enough to be any good in most rat holes.
  10. howay,, it was harmless banter in my eyes! like has been said cupcake, you seem an honest lad, and thats something to be proud of, well done on the bunny and good hunting in the future!
  11. feck that is a monster, what a fish!
  12. Ive had my son out with me from very young, had no choise lol, he would be on my back in a carrier when checking traps from just a couple of months.. hes always loved it.. hes just turned 2 years and is coming along well. I teach him everything I can about wildlife and nature and it seams to interest him... hes a bit noisey nowadays when ferreting and shooting but I can live with that as he enjoys it.
  13. The reason behind opting for the trap rather than the gun, is simple... guns are fine if the oppertunity arises, but this is no guarantee. So for serious mink control, traps are the way to do it.
  14. Chimp...I always make sure gluts of fruit or veg that cant all be eaten fresh are made into produce that can be stored or preserved for future use. I love home made tomato soups, spag bol, chutneys... Hope your freezer has plenty of space
  15. Im with you on that mate, everyone goes after foxes, and brand them as vermin that need to be kept in check, but the stoat often gets a free ride? I dont get it... I was killing 200- 300 stoats and weasels per year and there were always plenty about, they are serious predators, and if you want to preserve gamebird and rabbit numbers then they should to be controlled. My dogs have marked tons for me over the years, all mine will mark predatory vermin.
  16. Hiya Mal, I put both, I dont use my terriers for rabbiting, but if I did id expect them to mark occupied sets. I keep lurchers for rabbits and they are good markers, the terriers and bull lurchers are solid markers on fox.
  17. Credit where its due, that lurcher looks the part, hope it works as well as it looks . well done whin and good luck border lad.
  18. do you hunt boar erik? could you send me a link to a site that does these bulletproof dog vests please?
  19. If you liked your beddy/whippet so much, it would seem wise to go down that route again, plus it will be able to catch a rabbit, unlike a terrier? which seems to me like quite a handy attribute for a ferreting dog, but hey what do I know? good luck mate
