  1. Theres NO WAY id keep a dog that let go of its quarry for whatever reason. unless a total accident on dogs part. Vermin killing dogs should not f**k about with their catch. I read someone say its a long battle if a fox is caught by arse.. no its not if your dog is any good. And for other stuff, its gotta be ALL IN, no letting go all the time. breeding from dogs that mess about and still get classed as GOOD will only weaken the line, dramatically. keep high standards. If it dont work, fix it... put dog in hole... pet home, start over.
  2. nice pics kile, love the one of him leaping!
  3. Those pics are from his puppy days.. your right though you cant judge a dog from a picture. But il tell you that he was always a dog with more heart than sense. Not thick, in fact very smart, uncannily smart like he opens doors in the house like a person etc, but he is a real do-or-die merchant, and ive worked him to his advantages. A tool he is. thanks for the kind words
  4. get a lurcher. and if you want to feel safer, get a lurcher bred from dogs that do what you want them to do. If you dont know the parents or the folk that own them directly then its a gamble no matter what seperate breeds are in it, and to be honest you might as well forget thinking about exactly whats in there, as long as its worker/worker. good luck mate
  5. ok they updated the website, the box is 275 with charger....seems very robust too anyone else on here got one?
  6. I always got on ok with the old b+f box, so the new one is suposed to outshine it by a long shot, if its 400 quid though id rather hire a team of twenty polish chaps 3 days a week to do the dirty work, f**k not everyones J darcy rocking up to the earth in a hummer smoking a cuban, firing in a 'small dog with a big name'... and not even getting his brogues dirty in the process.
  7. In those pics: his age ranged between 7 and 14 months old,
  8. MY LURCHER AS A YOUNGSTER And like most good bull crosses they do seem to get very camera shy as they get through their first season, so its nice to get the baby album before hand.
  9. Ideal price.... £0 Once you have a good bunch of dogs between mates, you can take turns breeding to keep you all well dogged, using the best of the bunch to breed. You pay enough for the locators and all the gear etc and Im a working man so this talk of 5/6 hundred quid for a dog, is not something Ive ever had to resort to. But maybe if I was totally screwed for a dog I would consider paying a couple hundred if I knew the parents were decent tools.
  10. That bitch was very good blood.. chippers Nell, boy blue, dougie all there. Your right they would have been just the business for what you want. I will speak to Clive and see if he would let her rear a litter at some stage. He damaged his eye this day remember, he was bong eyed for a week after.... but it was a successful day for us

  12. cheers paddy. Got to ask, is that price with a collar? Ive already got the re-chargeable collar.
  13. Hi Kile, Long time no see, He's looking in good shape. just a note for anyone who is wanting to use him as a sire.. I've seen the dog work several times when Kile lived up by me, and the dog is everything Kile says he is. A keen hunter, fast, and a good taker of all stuff, no f*****g about. I also admired the dogs feet and all-round solid conformation, he is a tough dog that worked the rough fells and forest up my way like he had been born and raised here. I like to see dogs like this, especially ones that handle all quarry and all land with equal success, unfortunately there are not en
  14. ye stirring shite by any chance millet?
  15. i agree with this there to tall i recon the shorter bull or pitt would be best
  16. Whin, you sound even more crabbit than normal, who's pissed in your porridge? Werent you talking about putting together a book last year? And what happened about that ultimate fieldtrial for lurchers? Books are books, reading material thats all, and if your into dogs, then why not read about dogs? I've read a few darcy books and found them a decent read, nice pictures. I personally dont think there are enough fieldsports authors, considering that guys like YOU (whin), Halty, and thousands of others, have spent ther lifetimes in the game. . DnN
  17. Shame that could have been a nice site. Your dog looks in tip-top shape mate
