Take it easy mate, 5 month is a bit young really, if you damage the dogs organs too early he'll never work right for you!!! look after him in this first year and he'll pay you back ten fold!!!!!! Spot on, get him on young sep rabbits , just a couple run's. BIRD

When it gets to hot for the dog, get your self air rifle and leave the dog at home you can still take alot of daft rabbits, and keep the landowner happy. YOU doint want to feck is feet on hard now, you want the dog ready for sep. [ give it a break from game for a month] Dogs can get stale just give it plenty lead work, and when you are ready to start it will be like a new dog. BIRD

get a working border collie, have a look at it doing its job working sheep+cattle. Some of them border collies, can be nasty hard feckers. Pre Ban border colliex grey, will do a few foxes, but if you were going out 4 or 5 nights a week, get a bullx BIRD -

They are xs NOT pure Bulls, there is a massive differnce between the TWO Bullxs have been around for years, i saw somein 60s. I had two, good with kids+ dogs. Its just a name, there lurchers end of story. And lurchers of any x make good pets and ive had them 25+years , even if they work still good temperament's. To me a lurcher , what ever the x as to be the temp of all the breeds of dog known to man BIRD
