  1. A well bred 3/8 collie 5/8 grey , i had one 26ins 70lb he would tackle anything. Not a hare dog, but still had a few. If you get a good one, a real good alrounder BIRD
  2. I had a Agro last week, walking my 1x collie grey pup [ 11 months old] . I was on a public path by this farm, when a big feckin lab came out and went right for my pup. My pup was on the lead all the time, i always carry a strong stick [ broom ]. When it came to grab the pup, i just fend it off by ramming it in the neck and shoulder . This twat came out and said, hit my dog with that again and i will break it on your head. I said just get your FECKIN DOG OFF , Now you got two things here, [1] start fighting with this wanker, and is dog would still be loose to get my pup
  3. And how big will they be [ height+weight]?? BIRD
  4. It comes down to the word GRADE, it can meen differnt things to all people. If you want a dog to take rabbits and the odd fox most lurchers can do that. But if more of a one type quarry, then the word GRADE does come in. Dont forget even top dog+bitch, can still have pups that dont make the GRADE. . i think with all lurchers you need that bit of LUCK. if they dont make it , pet first if not ptsp BIRD
  5. Dogs [ lurchers] for me day or night. BIRD
  6. I had colliex that did that, i caught loads like that , he done the same on a fox. He was 3/8 collie 5/8 grey 26 ins 70lb, a very clever dog. BIRD

  9. My kind of dog . power+ brains BIRD
  10. No mate, the same as you would use a bullx for, BIRD
  11. It sounds like a good x, a ridgeback is a very powerful dog if you can use the right one, you should have a good nose+ strong jaw, good stamina , a good hunting dog. I wonder why you dont see more about.??????????? BIRD
  12. Yes sounds spot on, ive had bullxs and colliexs, and both were good dogs. So a colliexgreyx bull grey could make a reall good lurcher , with a bit of luck BIRD
  13. Yes with the above, but to get the best out of any pup. All ways take pup on its own, [1] in the day a pup will follow other dogs, and it will not use its nose as much as if on its own. [2] Retrieveing, day or night its all ways going to be a big test on live game for any pup. So you want a one to one, with no other dog there. Ive had lurchers 25 years+ , and for me one to one to bring out the best. I know its a pain when you have other dogs as well, but it is worth the effort in the end BIRD
  14. Yes my health ,because when thats gone you have got feck all BIRD
  15. Great pics, i like them stags, they look a reall good huntihg dog. What they like on the pigs.?, are the big heavy dogs better.?[ dane,mastiff,bull.]xs. BIRD
  16. A woman asked me , when i was walking the dog. The car was 1/4 mile past her house, when i got to the car her son who was [20] was standing there. He didnt have clue what to do . I done it for them, i said my wife+ son could do it as well, but they all ways ask feckin me. The next day, she came to my house with a bottle whisky so i should not moan really BIRD
  17. Here a link to watch the first episode. Send In The Dogs - Episode 1 Thanks mate, BIRD
  18. I missed the first one, any good???? BIRD
  19. Nope dont think so! but wont make any diff you enter your pup correctly he/she will take fox whether or not parents have took fox dogs are not born with any antipathy toward foxes...thats something you need to instill in them. Regards fox dogs, its got to be in the dog. As you say start it correctly, but if its not in there it will never do it. Ive had lurchers 25years+, bullxs, colliexs, bitza,. My best fox dog, was a bitza bitch she was colliexgreyx whippetxgreyx ? , 25ins 55lb. She was born a nasty fecker, she would tackle anything with 4 legs. As i said its down each
  20. If you mean my pup, he is 10months old. I will start him on the lamp in sep, he will be 1 then just about right for a daft rabbit He is 24ins 57lb, so he is agood size young dog. BIRD
  21. Well done mate, my pup only caught mixy [3] rabbits ,or should i say found them. So he as yet ,he as got to catch a healthy rabbit.I think it will hard for him as well, as like most pups he runs at 100 mph on anthing he sees. . BIRD
