  1. Yes i think thats it, my mate seen it and said it was good. Its all day stuff, where the dogs have to find+ catch, and catching a fox in the day is 100% harder than in the night. They use two dogs, so what, most lamping foxes dvd's ive seen are two dogs. Its in natural form, getin out there and having some sport, and thats what its all about . And if he thinks colliexs are crap for finding+catching, apart from [staghounds ]whats he got any better.???? dont say [kelpie ACD] xs because they no worse or better than good border colliex
  2. Spot on, all my lurchers jump, from 70lb bullxs to 20lb whippets that ive had in 25 years+. My pup now a 1x collie grey, Bryn he is a great jumper. Every thing he clears easy, he is 24ins and 57lb, if you are lamping with a dozen rabbits on your back, it does make life a bit more easy when your dog can jump. BIRD
  3. My brother got bit by a dalmatian, it got him in the hand. Now i tell you what, he said it was like having your hand hit with a feckin lump hammer All dogs cant hurt, lets be honest here there a some breeds , that if they do attack you are in deep Trouble . I grew up with staff's, and had lurchers 25 years+, and we all know what they are capable of. So if you had asked my brother, what worse a 12lb Jack Russell or 50lb Dalmatian having a go at you, i know what my brother would feckin tell you. BIRD
  4. A good read, plus if ever you were looking for a good working dog, its a good place to have look BIRD
  5. I would have said bullx, but as above its down to each dog, what as the heart for it. I had 3/8 collie 5/8 grey, he was 26ins 70lb. He would tackle anything do a fox, he would take a feckin lion on. BIRD
  6. I dont drink much these days, with beer iam OK , but whisky it makes me Aggressive iam 55 now , dont need the shit at my age. BIRD
  7. Yes there seem to be a few pups of that x about at the moment. BIRD
  8. If you could get a colliexgreyx deerhoundxgreyhound, that could be just right for you. With this x you should have good feet+ coat, and good pace and stamina ,plus it be strong enough to tackle anthing that bite's back. This x dogs = 24 26ins+ 50 65lb , bitchs bit smaller. BIRD
  9. Hope the dog is ok , but when you run them in the summer this is what can happen . If you have to do pest control use a gun, i try to run mine from sep , barbwire is a b*****d any time of the year , but atleast you can see it in the winter. Lurchers are a tough old dog he should be ok. BIRD
  10. The best ive ever seen, a 1x staff grey [ tug] he was 26ins 70lb, he took no prisoners BIRD
  11. Gaz, why dont you try a GSD. If you get a well bred one, from working lines[not this country] A male of say 80lbs, would stop any fecker. Dont forget it would be alot sharper, than alot of the bigger guard dogs. A well bred GSD, are brave and will tackle anthing, thats why the cops use them. You dont see many of the big breed's do you.??? BIRD
  12. Well ive had lurchers 25years+, ive had bullxs, colliexs, whippet[none ped] and bitza lurcher. In all xs you can get shit, so if bred well. A 2x collie grey, or a 2x bull grey[ not to heavy] will catch rabbits, fox, hare, these xs will catch the odd hare's, but they are not hare dogs. My best lurcher was the bitza, she was colliexwhippetxgreyxgreyx?. She was 25 ins and 55lb, she was a great catch dog, good stamina, and tackle anything She lived till she was 14 years old, a really top dog. With all lurchers, you got to have that bit of luck, and drop on a good'un, o
  13. Who needs a big dog, when you have them 65lb of muscle and teeth, and hit like a rocket. They would be a burglar worst nightmare BIRD
  14. Spot on, and a nice pup aswell BIRD
  15. just watched them, still got it feckin great. BIRD
  16. Hope you find it mate, its about time these twats had whats coming to um BIRD
  17. You want to keep taking it everyday, try some training by the sheep, with the dog on the lead first. If the dog is ok, just a couple of short recall's, keep doing this . When you are happy with this, try longer recalls if still ok good. You want to train , throw a ball all by the sheep. As i said the dog as got to be interested in you and nothing else. I have been taking my pup by stock, for the last 7 months. You want to be 100% sure, its the only way. BIRD
  18. Its just her age, from now till say 14months old they will try it on. Just go back to basic training for a week, and do your recall a small area. Once it knows it carnt get away with it, then you are back on track BIRD
  19. It sounds a nice x, just ready for this season coming BIRD
  20. she is 8 monts. thnks ebo Whats the recall like,? if ok . Then start in a confine area [kitchen or a hall way] with a ball or its toy. as i said its got to be a game, it should all come together if your recall is a 100%. Thats what i do , and ive had lurchers 25years+, it works for me. When pups catch there first rabbit or 6 rabbits they might feck about, its no big deal its just a rabbit. My best retriever was a fecker as pup , but when caught a couple dozen. He would jump 5 bar gates, ditches , with a rabbit right back to hand. just give it time.
