  1. Well i would say, colliexgrey, or a salukixgrey. A working collie as to handle all kinds of terrain, from rugged mountain's , flint, in the U.K. Collies work all over the world, in hot country as well. The saluki x, they have good feet as well. For me i would go for the colliex, its more of a rugged type of lurcher, especially the 1x collie grey. BIRD
  2. Very nice pics, my son is 21 now. My wife spoils him rotton BIRD
  3. Its not a natural thing for any lurcher to do, dont forget if its 1/2,1/4, [running dog] its instinct is to chase and kill. Ive had lurchers 25 years+ , and some will bring back right to you and some wont. Now they have all been trained the same way, its down to each dog. You can train a dog to do most things, but you can NOT make it retrieve if it does not want to. BIRD
  4. When you go to a commerical breeder like that, you have more chance of a crap pup. 1, you wont get a socialised pup, because he has that many pups . 2, the place is like a shit hole. 3, Any pup you buy, you want the best start for it. If you are going to spend £175, why not go to a person who works there dogs, and breeds only when they need a pup them selves. With all lurchers pups you take a risk, but why not put the odds in your favour. BIRD
  5. Having seen a doc on pumas, males can weigh in at 168lb. If they wanted they could kill a full grown man easy. We are lucky that they are shy animals and doint get seen, because if they bumped in to a solitary lamper and attacked, you would be in serious shit. BIRD
  6. 99 times better than rope mate True, they are very good BIRD
  7. Well done D.S, i think some times we all lack a bit of patience+understanding. BIRD

Its because the animal like foxes, as eye appeal. If it were like a rat , T.B or no T.B they would have done years ago. BIRD
  9. depends on what you will be hunting but you wouldnt go far wrong with a colliexgrey Spot on or bullxgreyxcollie grey both good xs BIRD
  10. She looks like a useful dog. BIRD
  11. Sad day, hope you can get another one just like him. BIRD
  12. just like any dog ,if they are brought up right and socialized well then there shouldnt be a a problem.when you keep more than one dog of any breed you will have disagreements, bulls are no worse really contrary to what some might say.if brought up right you should"nt have any problems. Spot on BIRD
  13. Bad luck mate, these things happen . BIRD
  14. What can you say, money talks. BIRD
  15. It wont hurt the odd run now and then, but i would not do it every day. When its about 10 months try it on a couple 1/2grown rabbits on the lamp. With your kind of x it should be agile and quick, it should be ok just take it easy with it. BIRD
  16. Alot of lads where you live use stags or bullxgreys, they should help you out. BIRD
  17. I like him , he is good TV. BIRD
  18. True, but [big cats ] bring back live prey for the cubs to pratice on, the cubs are left at the den. [wolves+wild dogs] regurgitate the catch for them, they doint go on the hunt till they can keep up with the pack, they are left at the den till ther are about 9 or 10 months old. Yes its good for them to learn there fieldcraft at a young age, but if a rabbit does get up you want it to have a good chance of getting it. Which it will have at 9 months old , Not 4months old. With lurchers its all about CONFIDENCE. Thats what think after 25+years in the game
  19. When the time is right, why not go for a colliexgreyxbullgrey. You will get a good a nose from the collie and maybe a good coat, and from the bull plenty of determination. It would do most jobs you need. BIRD
