  1. I don't have any particular problem with Police in general, no need to, but come on, it's NEVER "just a job" to them and I for one would rather scratch a living as I do than get paid to enforce this countries laws these days. your so right ITS NEVER JUST A JOB , obbsession maybe or to enforce todays laws one could say its an illness cause im fecked if id sit there and agree when told " right boys gona nab a few dog men today" knowin there is phedophiles and drug dealers peddlin DEATH to families amongst us . Thats easy, going after dog lads [ running dogs. pit bull
  2. Like most hunters on here, try to go out with things in the dogs favour [ not a full moon]. I have been out in the past with a F.M and caught stuff, but feck me you make it hard for you dog, they can see+ hear you coming a feckin mile away With lamping you after take the good+bad, a F.M is ok for them things in the trees

    .

The place you want to work them ie the country, most of the people that live there dont want them there. If you own a lurcher, in there eyes you a poacher, it doesnt matter if you are or not.?? It will never change, it was the same in 82 as it is now. A lurcher in the town is just another dog.
  4. They use them in OZZ, maybe the lads from there can let you know about them.? But i dont think they would be peds?, might be deerhoundX wolfhound hybrid's. Same as there Stags, 100 years line bred deerhoundX greyhound dogs.??
  5. in my eyes to many people are using these...... soon as the training of a dog goes a bit wrong its lets shock the b*****d, whats happened to ironing a dogs faults out the proper way with more training?????? True, this is the prob when you some times get a older pup [12 months] is still a pup. that you buy ?? just keep on with the recall [ day+night]. Ive had a few like that, over the last 25 years+ . when you go lamping again, do your recall right then, start with just a few yards then build up. Do it with say 6-7 recall 's to the lamp [spot ] then try another field for r
  6. Well ive had colliexs, bullxs, bitzaxs, and all were good dogs. But if ive pick one x, i would say a well bred colliex grey.If you can get a good one, they have good feet+coat, good stamina, good nose, a fair pace, agile, a strong tough old dog , you get from a 1x collie grey. The down side to them is that they can be very hiper, so they need a ton of work. The terrier xs [bull ] were good honest workers, that would try to catch what was in front of them the down side for me is there agilty, both were 70-77lb dogs they did well for there size. Ive had colliexgrey the
  7. yes i noticed there's not so much as 3 or 4 years ago , and yet you still have people with 2 or more lurchers, have they really got enough work for all there dogs.????
  8. Agreed that a lot of retired greys have come from the NGRC,but once they've been adopted they are not under any NGRC rules. It is then up to the new owner wether they muzzle them/it or not. As someone who has owned and trained greyhounds for over 20 years I would fully agree with you that when they "start" they can take some stopping. I had one that was extremely firey,if when he was out a walk and saw a cat, rabbit or small dog and obviously couldn't get to it he would attack the dog next to him.He had to be muzzled everytime he was walked with other dogs, also the other dogs had to be muzzl
  9. unbelievable it seems to be the only thing there good at waisting money WANKERS
  10. As Max has already said it's an NGRC rule that greyhounds must be muzzled in a public place and only applies to NGRC trained dogs. Kay you were in the right your dog was on a lead and stationary, the other dog which was obviously not under control approached you. With this in mind I'm struggling to understand why some of the members are pointing the finger at you. Most greys that go as pets [ are NGRC trained dogs] that have been raced at one time or other.? As i said i helped a bloke who 45 greys, and YES they make great pets. But if they start fighting it dont matter wh
  11. I could be wrong, but greys have to where a muzzle in a public place.? If they are loose and they went for another dog, more so a small dog . You would have alot of shit, from owners and if it got back to the greyhound kennels, because they are trying to promote them as good pets, and its the last thing they want . If i was you keep him on the lead+muzzel, its what they are used to. I helped a bloke with greys [45], and if a 65lb greyhound kicked off, it can do a lot of feckin damage its not worth it
  12. Spot on, and if they have to deal with guard dogs, they will shoot+poison them

    what a fight

Just watched it , a great fight , you dont see many like that today.
  14. dont think dave has ever been in it for the money. i have known him since i was a nipper over 30 years when he used to go coursing with my dad so he would let me use one of his dogs regardless and is one of the best dogmen i have ever known. he could make a good dog out of a street mutt, the bitch has been tested as would a bullx lurcher would and by the time she is bred from probably a lot more than most. there is only one true test of a bulls gameness amd how many that produce the best bull crosses have been. probably 10% i would bet. Yes he knows is stuff, but he did say bullxs
  15. Why not use his other stud dog [ blue ], it is got whippet in it , and he as worked it on most stuff, and size wise i think its 23-24ins 40lb, just right for your bull bitch. Ask him
  16. If it's shape, size and muscle you want in the cross wouldn't a pure greyhound or a 3/4 greyhound 1/4 bull be a better option. The reason you cross a greyhound with another breed for a lurcher is for drive and hunting ability / instinct. A doberman possess neither. As for collies and pit bulls, they're full of drive and hunting instinct. Silly crosses are one of the reasons dogs homes are full of lurchers, JMHO. And Temp= nervousness, my sister-in-law had one. A good guard, good with family, but very nervous with any body else . Its a big prob with the breed, i know you can n
  17. Spot on, Great Dogs you would'nt need bullxs with them feckers
  18. Well the first thing i would, is move the spaniel bitch [ thats in heat] from him . Let a mate have it till it comes out of season.? Next give it PLENTY of EXCISE, and when you get back , give it plenty of good Beef Bones.
  19. strong stuff on ere mate hell sort ut cheap as chips made how you wnt S.S are spot on, ive used leather ones before, but S.S slip leads work just as good , and will last you longer+ and cheap as well
  20. A New Back+Hands, mine are fecked up through 40 years of Heavy Work+ misuse .
  21. Ive had lurchers 25 years+ , and in that time i must have seen most x's work. We all know what x is best for Certain quarry, but to me a Well Bred colliex grey is a real good lurcher. Ive had and seen collie xs catch all game in the UK, on a Regular Basis. They really are [ jack of all trade's and a master of none . ] I love lurchers , and every x can do a job, but if there is such a thing as a alrounder , a well bred collix grey must come close.
