  1. Given the right conditions, if a dog can take 10, it's decent. 20, it's good. Any more it's a cracker but it can only catch whats there. IMO. Cheers, D. Spot on

Great Fit dogs, put one of them to a greyhound, make reall good lurcher in the right hands.
  3. He is a 1x collie grey, all game was caught from 18 nights lamping. He caught every night, some nights more than others. As i said the main thing is catching, the more they catch ,the better they get He is 24 ins 58lb, i will try him on old red coat in sep, he will be 2 then.
  4. Well my young dog , as had 100 rabbits, 3 hares, in the lamp now . I took him last friday night, 4 from 4, not bad for a 17 month old dog. If he keeps it up for next season, i will very happy. As long as they catch, thats the main thing.?? Well done Bryn.
  5. Dogs for me, they can be bit more stubborn than bitchs , but you can work them all season, where bitchs break down twice year, and that can be when you really need a hunting dog.
  6. I like to see my dog work, so i would say lurcher. If i want to sell some rabbits, i would use my gun, as a head shot rabbit, is 100% better than any caught by a lurcher.Even the most softest mouth lurcher will bruise a rabbit.??
  7. With colliex greys [1x] they need alot of success early on at catching. Once they have, they make great rabbiting dogs[day-night]. My 1x collie grey Bryn, has had 95 rabbits,3 hares, in the lamp, he caught them at 16 months old, not bad for a young dog. With young dogs [especially] 1x collie grey ,TRY and pick your rabbits at first , say 15-20. As been said , you will go very slow now with each dog. Take them out on there own, 1 to 1 and try them on some daft summer time rabbits, this is prob some times when you take on a older dog. Some times it works, and some time doesnt. Stick with
  8. Yes SS makes good+tough collar's+lead's, pm he should come up with what you need
  9. colliexgrey, colliexgreyxbullgrey, dogs of about 24-25ins 50-60lb, will take anything in the lamp you put them on [ brain, power, speed] good lamp dogs.
  10. Ive had lurchers [colliexs, bullxs etc.....] and they will bring back rabbits, right to hand. And ive had lurchers that wont retrieve , and i have trained them all the same way, work than one out You get some lurchers that will bring back any dummy- ball no probs, but once they get a feckin live rabbit all that feckin training goes out of the window. It the x over to game, from dummy work, as i said ive had some and no probs, bring rabbits right to me. Then other feckers, will kill or hold but bring. My dog now is inconstant retrieving, some times right to you with a rabbit, and some time

  12. Just put it in big black bags, right in the wheel'e bin no probs
  13. mid to large dogs, will grow up to 12months old, large etc.... up to 18months old, what ever the breed
  14. Spot on, if you really need a guard dog that bad, get a good GSD or DS, easy to handle and a good brain on them.
  15. same here, maybe a bit more work on the rabbit, still good Tattoo.
  16. Spot on, any dog can bite, and it only takes a second. All bull terriers [staff, pit, english,] are great with kids, we had them when i was kid. Nice pic, as as above it would only take [second].

    best beer

Marstons Bitter, 8 of them and you know you had drink.
  19. They use them in Oz, but i think they have deerhound in them, and dont think they would be peds.?? I think a line bred 1x to a grey, could be a good dog for big stuff, but not rabbits.
  20. Keep at it, i stopped 16 years ago. I smoked for 15 years, i had 2 dummy runns first. Then on the 3rd time, i done it . I put a stone on [14st] then after 10 weeks came back to 13st, my wife said i was like Bear with sore Arse for 6 weeks , but you do snap out of it. You should save bit of money, But you will Definitely feel Healthy for it 100%
  21. There is alot of crap GSD out there. The best working lines are not in this country, a Mal might be a better x. They dont have HD, as a bad GSD's, and they have more prey Drive than GSD. The Malxgrey would make good lurcher, but they would need a ton of work, or you could end up with a big prob of a dog
