  1. I dont know if they would be any good for a lutcher x, but my sister had a S.P and it was agood guard dog, and it was fit and could run a bit as well. They are alot tougher than what they look.
  2. A well bred 3/4 grey 1/4 collie, say 25ins 60lb would take all quarry. They got [speed, brain, guts, agilty] easy to train.
  3. if it is a 1x [line bred] its a cracker my 1x is racey, and is fast for 1x, they make a top rabbit dog [day+night]
  4. yes it is very easy 2 train a pup 2 retrive start off with a ball make them enjoy it then move 2 d rabbit skin then once he catches his first rabbit should bring it straight back 2 your hand thanks for that. i thought they would be more to training a lurcher because im only used to springers. wat age would be suitable to start that crack? No it is differnt, with most gundog breeds it is [NATURAL] Retrieve, it is not [NATURAL] running dogs[Lurchers] to Retrieve, But it is [NATURAL] to chase+kill. And dont forget most quarry[ Birds, rabbits] are warm but [Dead]. Ok you get a runne

    NEW PUP

A nice pup , where did you get her from.?
  6. Spot on mate, its feckin pain in the arse in the summer time, you dont see the wankers in the winter . Any lurcher+ terrier, thats been worked can do alot of feckin Damage to another dog. My dog as a very soft+nice temp, and i like to keep him that way. He is 1x collie grey 24ins 58lb, and he is a strong+fit dog. You seem to meet 2 types dog owners [ macho, idiots.] I always keep him on the lead, when i see another dog. The one thing i try to do, is not go to public places ....... taking a dog for a walk, should be a pleasure, not a feckin nightmare
  7. This is a hunting website, not exchange & fecking mart. Nothing wrong selling stuff, but as above posts should be on [HUNTING] 1st, then selling.
  8. A colliexgreyx deerhoundxgreyhound, were popular in 70-'s. They were good on rabbits, fox, deer, not to bad on hares. The ones i saw, would kill quick a fox+hare. They might not be like the [specialized ] fox+hare dog of to day, but they make a real Dam good lurcher, if there is such a dog as a alrounder, they must come Close
  9. Spot on, it give's them the RIGHT start in life.
  10. Most hunters on here, go lamping [spot lighting]. With running a dog in the dark at 30 mph, can very dangerous. And if you dont know the ground 100%, if its [hot ] it can be very dangerous.
  11. COME ON THE WOLVES, if they spend they will [sTAY THERE] FECKIN GREAT
  12. Nice pup, is it a ped whippet.?
  13. Top stuff Dan, love them Stags
  14. Top stuff Dan , love them Stags ,said i loved em
  15. Yes its one x not for lurchers , they move the sheep by barking all feckin day long . My mate went to NZ to visit h is sister, and saw them working .And some of the kelpies were [vocal] as well . All OZ +NZ dogs are great working dogs, and they do make good lurcher xs, But its [something] that you have to REALLY keep a eye on, Especially if they come from Working stock.????
  16. Are they as big as bullmastiff, and a better guard. I saw one last sat, and if they like the one i saw , they are a breed not to feck about with.???

    Your Job

BOUNTY HUNTER + PART TIME POACHER
  18. aye, thats the way, after a hard nights graft in the freezing wind and rain, getting banged and bruised as they relentlessly pursue their quarry and all just to please their master, after all that, just sling em in the kennel to dry themselves, sorted, im glad im not your dog When ive been lamping, if its been raining , towel the dog down, and check body+feet for any injuries i do this wet or dry. Then put him in his kennel, and give a nice warm meal. Thats where a dog belongs out side, its a[ animal] not a human.
  19. It depends on the 1/2 x you have I suppose some can be very racy looking....on the + side very intelligent, easy to train, follow instructions quicker, a very versitile dog. The downside if you can call it that is some are a bit on the cloddy side and lack the pace of a 3/4 x. A 3/4 x will be faster in most cases more streamlined and more suited to coursing and in terms of being an all rounder in the proper sense of the word more suited to bigger quarry....and in my experience a bit more game. Ive had a 3/8 collie 5/8 grey, got a 1x collie grey now. As above my 1x is fast for a 1x, m
  20. 12 months old, and then only a couple runs. It takes 2 seasons before a lurcher, really knows the game, and on the 3rd season you will have a good lurcher [day+night]. Regards yaping, if its just a little yip, it might stop when it starts catching , when its older .But full blown yaping, no way you will have to start with another pup, and put it down to Experence
