Yes, it was a breed of dog a long long of time ago, now it is a hybrid reconstitute.?
  2. No mate, to me this post about killing dogs [ because of money]. All my dogs are broke to Stock, and every dog ive had in 25 years as been, but dont feel sorry for any farmer, because what he looses in stock, he will get back easy eg ..... from the goverment. Ok the dogs should have been under control or on a lead, but he was wrong what he did. And most farmers hate lurcher lads, i walk my dog by sheep every day on and of the lead, and the landowner is fine with that. But as i said stock is just money to a farmer, my dog worth alot more than money to me.
  3. Spot on, what gets my back up, is all stock is bred for the dinner plate, and all means to a farmer is money. They dont think of any animal like we do, even there sheepdogs are just a tool to them, and they shoot them once they are to old to work. Go back in the night and kill as many as you can, and hit him were it hurts in is pocket. It might make him not so trigger happy next time.
  4. Great Dogs, do they ever use bullx greys on yotes, as they have plenty of pits out there. ? or do stags do a better job, as a 45lb yote must be alot tougher than a 20lb dog fox? and thats what some bullxs were bred for as a fox dog in the UK pre ban?
  5. GREAT , my lad is 22 now, but i can remember when it was like that on xmas day when he was little

  7. Spot on, i carry a stick and only hit once, and it never forgets so it done the job. And i have never had to hit it again.
  8. Thats not alot for a three old dog , of that breeding.
  9. Spot on, ive got 1x collie grey , he is 24ins 60lb . He is good size for any Game [small -large]

  11. Xmas is for kids, think of the poor little feckers in hospital. If you have the time+money have walk in there on xmas day, with a few presants. you Will think differnt about xmas from that day on.
  12. Spot on, i still walk mine by them every day, and he is 14months old. You can never really trust them a 100%, some can be great with sheep, but get excited by lambs.? it must be size and movment thing . I train them the same way with both, and get same result's, which is fine. But as above keep taking them what ever the age
  13. Simple......dont ! .....get someone who knows when why and how its the sort of thing you can easily do more harm than good . Go to the VET
  14. Spot on, i was out last night, got 7 from 13 runs, 4 were squatters, but he only takes them when they move he his a ix collie grey, and alot of colliexs are like that. Still its 7 in the bag.
  15. I'd wager the dogs used to bay a lion over a hundred years ago are a far cry from the dogs mincing around the show ring today........... Spot on , even with your game bred breeds, some never make it.
  16. An excellent post. I agree 100% with everything said here. It's like the advert, 'free to good home'. What exactly does that mean? How the hell does the person know it's good home? It just gives a fast way of getting rid and frees the owner up of any guilty conscience . If I couldn't keep my dogs (I accept that it can happen) I would search all avenues to get them rehomed. If it wasn't going to be a working home with someone experienced and a true dog lover I would look for a family pet home. I would hate to think of some inexperienced a/hole treating them like s-- t and feeding th
  17. Spot on, Stew and it tastes better if you keep it a couple of days
  18. What can you say life is feckin cruel at times.
  19. VERY TRUE, a 1x or a 3/8 collie 5/8 grey, will take any thing, a top dog
  20. karl as i keep bull crosses i may be biased but the answer is easy - preydrive- a good bull wont let you down - ive used them for lamping and drawing and if hes a good one he wont shirk the issue iv keped both, bull and collie x iv had a bull x that took deer and fox pre ban,but it never had anymore pry drive than my collies, just more kill power is all and most dont notice pain, always enjoyed my collies, can do anything a bull x can do if bred and trained properly, Spot on, same here both xs were good. ive found my colliexs more agile than bullxs both were the same weig
  21. I asked my vet about frozen rabbits, he said worm will still be there , it will Dormant in the muscle tissue even when frozen for what ever time. He said you would be better of boiling the meat, boil up to 2 hours, and feed on or of the bone. I do this and never get worms, the boiled bones wont hurt but i feed of the bone. I know alot feed raw, but thats what he told me.??
  22. Its about time to, Maybe they will breed healthy dogs from now on, and not feckin crap dogs that carnt walk or live more than 8 feckin years. but money talks
  23. True whin limited but should flush or retreive most things,no hare coursers for sure but should be able to run all day or night, robustness in heaps was part of the plan mate. nice healthy looking pups, as you say not your run of the mill lurcher. But maybe a bit more running dog in there, and what a good alrounder they would make.??
