  1. House for Human's, kennels for dogs, .??
  2. Yes mate, there are sheep dogs here that are to hard and are used for bullocks, and also cow dogs that are to soft and can only be used for sheep. This is one reason why the collie bred lurcher is so hit and miss.. The 3 main reasons collies are used in out crosses for lurchers are stamina, brains and coat....and the reason there are so many "hit and miss" with this x is the majority of the owners either dont use them to their full potential or ruin them by entering incorrectly Spot on, and with a dog that [Thinks] about things, regards [some] quarry , they Will or they Wont.
  3. plus if you are on hot ground, the cluson aint going to light all the feckin field up
  4. Spot on, what great fox+deer dogs they would have made pre Ban.
  5. hat do you think it ill do to a dog turn it into a feeking wear wolf!! NO, you can catch with the moon up, i have done. But why make it any Feckin Harder for your Dog,as long as you know you wont get [MUCH] do it then
  6. Great Post+info Dan Deerhoundx's of the 70's, which had a little bit of collie, and some times irish in them. Would take all game in the UK. They were very popular x, they still have alot to offer to the lurcher game today.?
  7. Yes a 3/8 collie 5/8 grey, 27 ins 70lb, i would'nt say i had him just for foxes, but he would kill them feckin quick no prob. If you can get a well bred on, they make a good x. Dont forget there's Shit in any x
  8. A well bred bedxgrey, 22-24ins 40-45lb, would be spot on for any game, and a nice size aswell, carnt see the point of adding whippet. A dog of this size just right for daytime+nightime. Iam not fan of a beddyx but if iwas going for one it would be a bedxgrey
  9. [ bullmastiff, bull terrier, greyhound] , if nothing else these type of dogs, should be more healthy than the ped bullmastiff +mastiff. The bullmastiff +mastiff, are Plague'd with HEALTH PROBS, that why i came out of the breed [bullmastiffs]. Not long lived, H.D etc......, The bullmastiff in the 1930's was more like a Alunt, than the feckin show things of today [ fact] Read the [ THE MASTIFFS] BY Colonel David Hancock .??
  10. Great pics+post, the only Breed that might and that's a Very Big MIGHT , is a C.A = Russian Mountain dog. They are supposedly 30ins and 170lb's, and you would need [2] or more ,by the size of that Feckin Wolf
  11. I think 2 is more than enough, how many REALLY can work more than one dog PROPERLY. . A good dog should handle 2-3 nights lamping, maybe a couple days ferreting+mouching. OK dogs get hurt, but a 2nd dog would cover that easy , till the other dog is fit.? Look at all the shit you have to get up, the feckin food bill for what,????? After all they are working dog's 1st, pet's 2nd. Ive had lurchers 25years, and i would rather keep 2, that work properly and do what there were bred for, than keep 3 etc..... and never see a feckin rabbit. [food for thought]
  12. Top stuff Dan, did you say there was a bull in your fawn stag once, the one that nail's the yotes.? good pics
  13. You will have top dogs there, i had a dog out of Nugget , a great game bitch. Joes dogs a bred for hard work, who ever as one will get a good honest+tough lurcher.
  14. Well ive had lurchers for 25 years, and farmers+keepers still view anybody with a lurcher , is up to no good Even if you were , they all live in time-buble, they still think they are in 1920's. Where you had put food on the table, you can buy a feckin chicken today for 2quid£, times have moved on they havent.??
  15. 18 1/2ins , most have done by 9-10 months [bull,staff,pit,] weight up to 18 months-2years.
  16. Good thread, i know Stags are line bred [stag-stag] and they have alot of deerhound in them. His there a lot of differnce, from a 1x deerhound greyhound of good stock and Stags.? As the Deerhound seems the[ Dominant] breed in both dogs.? just a thought
  17. Keep it way from them feckers, just put it on rabbits when its older= 10months old not 5months old
  18. Bad news that, some times you have to be[ Cruel to be kind] and if it was me, i would just keep my happy memories of a great hunting friend.
