  1. Ditch -It would be very nieve[spelling] of anyone to consider a pic on the internet as "safe" in any shape or form .Dont know the legal position as to who they belong to? .I had a typing battle with a twat who nicked a pic of mine off here and used it on another hunting forum as his own !.He was removed Im told when rumbbled but too late ,it happened .Any other pic ,other than the one nicked and I would of been flattered .
  2. Ditch-Your circumstances may prevent you from owning one but what pest controller does not own an airgun of some sort ?Talking about the legal side of things ie drowning it ,it is also an offence in England to possess ,own a draw stick of any description [Ask your local wildlife officer ].Can't believe the airgun is not an option !.Your only choice is to shake it out into the sack and priest it mate .
  3. Well done frank .Cut the end off the lamp and wire it direct to the battery mate .
  4. No mange around us thankfully. The killing goes on though so a return visit is on the cards ,when I can fit it in that is .The stalking has been paid for foxy but I never saw any sign of deer at all ,no slots ,beds or droppings.Probably seasonal here as its very wet now .
  5. A farmer near to my house had lost several fowl recently and asked if we'd like a look around his farm for the culprit.Got to the farm at 7.30pm and had the run down of the land from the farmer.Loaded the .222 and clipped on the new lightforce lamp and slotted on orange filter [as used by foxhunter esq].First shine revealed a fox running away down a fence .A quiet squeal brought it to a stop at roughly 30 yards and a quick shot off the shoulder saw it belly up .Down in the bottem fields ,the ground was saturated and a quiet approach was out .I chose a big field and set up for a squeak .Used th
  6. We were set to go somewhere else today but a call from a keeper diverted us .He was blaking in a game strip for the days shooting and had seen a fox chasing birds in a nearby covert .Sending a beater over to it ,the fox was seen to go to ground in a 15 holer .We arrived whilst they were having a coffeee from the flask .Netted up and entered a small pat' bitch. She bayed and then silence as is often the case .The next time she spoke ,she was shallow and on a bank.No need for the box as I could both hear and feel where the action was .This bitch is rock steady and screamed as charlie rushed her,o
  7. Get the clippers on that scruffy fecker and it will passs as anything :11: .Nice do mate .See you in the new year .
  8. Frank-you need to get out with the bullx boys mate .Diggit is right in saying that these dogs are the ONLY SERIOUS FOX LURCHERS .The beauty of this cross in my eyes is that they are not fussy about where they grab hold and secure as opposed to some of the other mixes.100% fox dogs worry noy if its day or night ,they just have to get a tooth hold no matter what .You also say daytime foxes are on own ground ,so too of a nighter .Even if it is a travelled fox,he will know where to elude capture ,given half a chance .Most foxes escape through human error in positioning the dog . Good hunting to y
  9. Good to see you back on the hunting life WW .Ive seen most of these terriers work and will see some next wednesday [hopeful].This lad is one of the most dedicated terriermen I know who never suffers fools either canine or .................Good luck mate ,see you soon .
  10. One of the estates we run on has miles of it and its electrifyed on a mains curcuit. Im surprised more of you dont stitch your own dogs though .Barbed wire is usually the cleanest cut of them all.
  11. As blakfut sats there is no longer a month when does are kit free .
  12. .............but if you do get caught ,I never met you before .................................... :11:
  13. Hobbies are regularly seen on the downland around us in summer but Ive not had a personal positive on honey buzzard .
  14. do you think thats clever you can get nicked for that you wouldnt be laughing then It wasnt big or clever but at a time when I was frantically feeding kits ,a chance shot at those disease ridden ,tile shitters was justified pay back

  16. All the work was well worth it then mate -now youve done one the corvids will flock in .
  17. For those of you more knowledgeable on the passage birds ,do honey buzzards frequent our lands at all in winter as a conversation today with a chap who is a bbc wildlife cameraman threw me right off .The bbc ,according to him are documenting passage birds of prey for or as part of a new program .He assures me ,honey buzzards are not at all uncommen here .Personally, due to the vast colour phases and sizes of the commen buzzard I think sightings are dubious but .............................?
  18. This is way below your league gentleman but an old boy I knew, worked a set made from a 15ft cut off long net section which had no top or bottem line or poles .The net was mearly draped over the middle of the gate [along the rungs]and trailed on the floor infront with slight bagging below the gate .We bowled many hares with this but by christ they took a bit of untangling as the hare took the net well past the gate before becoming hopelessly tangled .His lurcher was nearly as old as he was ,it seemed :11: and never chased a hare or rabbit that I saw but merely worked the feild thoroughly befor
  19. High powered rifles ruined the land :11: The truth here is that a centre fire is THE most effective method of control for foxes ,deer ,etc. Some lads promise the earth to farmers about being able to control numbers of these animals with lurchers but fall short ,well short of any sort of control or maintanence of numbers. The rifle boys move in and start CONTROLLING NUMBERS.That is the way it is around us anyway .There is always a surplus of any game to move into a void left by control as I know to my cost ,having lost land to people prepared to break the law .Going out at different times may
  20. Cant fault the answers but an explanation as to why these baits are used is here-The small partical baits are best which dosnt allow rats to carry off the bait to consume out of the reach of the dogs and forces them to eat it where you want them to and not vice versa .A pile of logs with grain tipped over them will do as well .Make sure all escapes are cut off before moving the baited area .Good hunting .
  21. Quality pics mate .You boys certainly have a wide range of quarry.KEEP THE STORIES AND PICS COMING ,WE LOVE IT .
