Earliest cubs Ive been told about were New Years Day,in an artificial earth .Never saw them myself though .
-
Found an earth so far undiscovered on this estate, away from the beaten track so to say .No prints in or out nor scent available to the human nose but my bitch wanted in .Used to be fairly big at one time as depressions in the ground indicated old entrances. We found the bitch a good 7 yard from the only hole open and in a tree free area .The soil is pure sand here so the dig was over in minutes. The bitch was up to the fox and as usual was eager to get hold .My mate lifted her and the was fox shot .Simple as that .No drama ,just an honest dog doing what she was bred for .Turned out to be a st

Nice one Tom and Steve

I for one have no problem with what you require from a dog but no doubt the hard liners will have something to say.As long as a man is up front and knows the strengths and weekness of his terriers then he is in my eyes a better man than one who thinks he has the best and thinks he knows everything about the digging game. You will miss that bitch when she goes on no doubt. Every fulltime professional terriermen Ive met has one or two of these terriers but theyve been slagged off too! Dogs like yours come along every now and then ,not necessarily through entering or anything you do ,its just t

When I read this from start to finish ,it just reinforces the fact that not many get the chance, or wouldnt want the chance of hunting big bags of rats but still they have an opinion on those whos terriers have done so .Ive worked earth dogs definately longer and more often than some on here and know what constitutes a good dog and an outstanding one .Those who decry the breeding of non digging terriers are in my opinion right to do so and I would never breed a terrier that worked rat alone or expect any of my digging mates to do so .Ratting IS physically testing if rats are in numbers ,400+

the ethics of muntjac shooting
Squirrel_Basher replied to Nemo's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Its up to the individual as to what they shoot when and where .Down south ,around us, muntjac are shot on sight as vermin .Everyone has different reasons but mine is to stop foxhunter from getting one down here come May.lol. -
To move off thread like everyone else has ,it appears that those of you doing the slating now dont appear to have really tested a dog ratting .Go on laugh ,but I tell you many a digging dog will not see out a day on LARGE NUMBERS of rats. When the mouth is sore and the energy is sapping ,thats when all but the best of TERRIERS are still slaying rats as they did the first .I'm a digging lad as well and value the worth of a terrier that stays but I also hunt rats in numbers and know that phisically, for the terrier, there is a difference between a day of ratting to a long dig .Its the mental s

I'm not very well up on these critters but isnt the american signal a threat to our own native cray?.Do you need a licence to catch these pests or is the licence because the traps are unselective?.Are the signals good eating ?.Sorry for all the questions .

Mustelidae#1 Mustelidae#2 Mustelids form the majority of Britain's carnivores, and consist of weasels, stoats, badgers, otters, polecats and martens. .. im sure ive read somewhere that roe deer have delayed implantation aswell.. The lad has already had the dog to the vets and they would have shaved the area before doing anything , I hope .If the dog can reach the area to lick it ,then contrary to others beliefs ,this will prolong the healing.Fit the dog with a plastic anti bite vet collar and wash the wound with hibi scrub twice a day .A squirt of wound powder on it after wards will start the closing process.Pay special attention to cleaning the edges of the wound as this is where trouble starts if its going to .Dont worry about washing off any scab that forms early on as the day will come when the scab will be too we

I live near swindon, near enough to hear about the night time battles between our boys and asians and now immigrants .There is now a no-go area in the town for whites!.I've had first hand experience of the work being taken by these so called "european craftsmen" .My arse, its cheap and that all that matters it seems in todays economy .It will come to a head in this tiny island of ours and sooner the better .Fecking mosques[spelling, but who cares ]built all over the country ,you try and build a church in pakistan! .The rot is well and truly set in and is past any governments ability to put right

Used to be a good spot for a tunnel trap underneath the line especially for the now protected hedgehog.Used to be a line 50yds or so long ,along the main drive into the estate! A keeper had to be seen to do his job .

Bless him,he's obviously not right in the head .Torrets[spelling]they call it ,swearing like that .I was quite offended ,little prick.I could seriously dislike him up close .

Judging by the bird sound and foliage ,thats got to be Australia?Hell of a lot more foxes than we have . I've called in day light and as said before its tricky because they see movement so well .If your still ,they will come right up ,providing the wind is right and thats where most calling comes unstuck .An animal responds to a call but soon works up wind to determine what it is and to pin-point it if its edible .One way to combat this I've found is to take along a recently dead rabbit and open it up down wind of you but where it can be seen .Works sometimes but not always .

As long as you are not in a row of terraces mate ,Im sure the law is on your side if you shoot it and have tried all other reasonable methods of prevention ?.
