Mate -if your switching to raw from another food ,say dry then its imperitive that you introduce slowly ,especially a pup .Increase the amount of raw slowly per day and this means mincing it and allowing it to stand for a while mixed with the dry .The dry will absorb some fluid off the raw and hopefully will not be left in the dish .Incease slowly until the pup is on raw only then feed as it comes .A propper raw diet as I know it will only contain 20% bone .You need to remove the bone to achieve this .In the case of a pup its not good practice to let them gourge at one sitting .Stomach upsets

Bitumen sheets are false ecenomy as they warp easily in the summer no matter how many fixings.Go for the ply roof and mineral felt top mate .2 layers .

Somewhere in between me .Talk to anyone but soon get the measure of them ,good or bad .Youngsters are encouraged ,old experts listened to then seive through the bits of info I deem worth hearing .Dont be scared of telling someone they are talking bollocks if you know damn well they are .You will be respected for it .

pictures of my terrier before the ban

The upshot of it is this .Scars are no reference to the dogs ability to stay till dug season after season .A dogs first experience to ground can produce bad results ,Ive seen it ,with the dog refusing to look at a hole for a long time after. To look at him you would at first glance of thought the dog was a regular but not so.The dog eventually worked but too far back from quarry.Whether the dog sticks to the game is in its make up .Fair play to you boys if the terriers a good 'un though and I like the head shot too . -
Im sure someone will correct me if im wrong but ivometin was once the main ingredient of a sheep dip.Shepherds/farmers used to put the collie in last and submerge it with the crook. The dog injested large amounts of the stuff and some died as a result .This is where the tale comes from .If shepherds used poodles instead of collies the same result would have happened .Ivomectin is only safe if you know what you are doing or are shown by someone who does .Better products available to those who only dabble in dog health .

Just goes to show the difference in regions of firearms officers .The chap who came to me couldnt do enough and even pursuaded me to add calibres Ive no intention of using .He showed me a chart of bullet sizes and basically said pick what you want .A mate of mine was applying at the same time and he knew this .When I asked for the 243,he said ok as long as my mate was my experienced stalker ?.Later learnt that he told my mate the same regarding me and his 243 ?.Because of the number of shot guns I have and the proposed number of firearms I applied for ,I needed a security system fitted ,which

You can go on all day about the bull cross being a rabbitter but its not .Ive owned bullx and small lurcher types all my life and the smaller dog make the bulls look silly on rabbit .The bull cross was intended as a fox ,draw dog and excells at this .No such thing as an allrounder .You have to ask yourself if you really need all that power to catch a few rabbits.
-
The first cross I know of was very easy to train ,almost to field trial ,gun dog style. It was very puppyish for a long time ,almost 2 1/2 years before it settled down .Takes deer in open fields with style and ease .Once saw it clear a very wide ditch on a course and gained twenty yards in doing so .The urge to guard is strong ,with all family members .Its nose is first class and is a 100% marker to a fox .The feet are large and not double toed .The coat is harsh and needs grooming .The down side to it is that its not mine :11:
-
Control ,pure and simple.Good work .

No amount of night vision will allow you to get close to a rabbit at night unless it has mixie :11: .The normal lamp,if used properly ,will allow you to get a lot closer as it block out your outline .Without the lamp you are in their world and they are a lot more equipped than we are .

The first signs of age to me is the time it takes for a dog to recover from the days ordeal .A dig of 4 foot will have the same effect on a dog as a 10 footer .What Im saying is the time to ground will take more of a toll on the dog as it gets older ,as has been said ,the amount of work and the injuries play a large part in when this will occur .A young ,fit terrier in its prime will bounce out the kennel the next morning expecting ,wanting to go again . Playing it by ear is the way to retire a terrier for good and concentrate on the new entries.
-
For some of the lads on here, digging is hard comeby and even harder to keep following certain moves by our government. You will be doing well to get an invite I fear .

Ditch-As someone who USED to pin insects I feel I should tell you how I attracted moths, which would work for the perfect photo opportunitie . Take one WHITE bed sheet and hang it over a washing line in half .Attach cord to the 4 corners and peg out to form a "tent".Stand a chair underneath it with a lead light on it ,the type used in car repair .Mix up some sugar/honey water and sprinkle it on the sheet .Do not pour on as it looks like piss stains The light works as your moon and the sweet water acts to keep them there .The white background is the perfect backdrop for pics .

Its all very well giving advice on wounds to a stranger but it matters a hell of a lot on what sort of wound it is .If its a puncture wound then DO NOT use peroxide in any strength as it will kill tissue as well as bacteria. I bathe the dog using teetree shampoo and allow the dog to shake itself ,the action of which expels any water trapped inside thus leaving a clean hole.A bad puncture wound needs to be dealt with from the inside by the correct use of antibiotics . A slash wound that dosnt require stitching is best kept clean with salt water ,any slash over 1inch is deemed stitchable in my

Recharge? If geven at the right time then this is a good fluid/energy replacement This sort of thing was in fashion around me 10 years ago and used before a night /day out but people realized it has the ability to mask injuries and faded out .I know your not doing it mate but dont be tempted to run the dog on instant energy .
-
Good advice. Its the time of year mate.Wipe the pups eyes gently before applying but not with same bit of cloth as one eye can clear up before the other and you re-infect .
-
Ill swap you a day is a wet ,windy pigeon hide for one of those golden days on the duck . :11: Only joking ,I love it .Good luck mate .
