    Any animal in the wrong place or in large numbers needs culling .Forget those who deplore the act ,they dont live in the real world and are content to run one or two a week and see a few about .Some areas such as run ways ,ministry firing ranges and areas undisturbed in general are over-run with hares and some control is inevitable.Keep doing what you are doing mate and post the results for us all to see and take no notice of the moaners .

    No law to say you have to have any such certificates .Down to the discretion of your firearms department .

    If its seeds the crows are after mate and they are in numbers then you'll probably find they are rooks and will not be caught with a larsen .Larsens only work on territorial corvids by placing a threat in the territory.A ladder multicatch is the thing for rooks or jackdaws .

    The same farmer who had the trouble with a lamb killer ,phoned me last night in another panic as he'd lost 2 more lambs.Went there on the way somewhere else for a squeak and shine .I only had the .22 and my mate had the shotgun .Same as before ,a fox ran away from the yards as I flicked around with the lamp but a loud squeak had it stopped at around 60yds.Just about to line up a head shot when another 2 foxes came in to join it from out the nearby copse .These 2 were a bit jumpy and kept to the long grass .I was determined to provide a left and right for my mate and tried a variety of calls ,s

    Sambo 123-Take it from one who knows ,that trap will do perfectly for stoats mate ,without the extra mesh .Ive used the same for years and nver had a problem . Good hunting all .

    Day out sunday on an estate nearby .We get the invite after every pheasant season but not during .Tried several places along a bank by the keepers house with no mark until we came to a largish place where my terrier wanted in .Netted up ,entered the bitch and stood with a shotgun apiece in case this was linked to any other workings nearby .Neednt have bothered as the bitch took the fox to a stop end and after locating her we dug the fox at nearly 8 foot after just under 3 hours through sand and 3 layers of unforgiving rock .     A phone call from an anxious farmer dragged me away from rat shooting to have a look around a small holding for a fox thought to have killed 4 lambs on friday evening .Turned up to see the farmer who had already been round with the shotgun squeaking?Hed seen a fox in the lambing yard but it wasnt about to sit still for him and ran to the neighbours fields .The neighbour kindly allowed me to look around 2 fields and have a squeak .Where I expected a fox to come from was downwind but any other backstop was a bit dodgey so with the wind it hed to be .Nothing to my voice so I used the hare distres

    I may be proved wrong by some of the more knowledgeable stalkers on here but fallow are nomads ,following food sources and exscaping pressure .We have herds around us that travel an mile radius .Individuals are known by colour in each herd but can be spotted anywhere within that radius .

    CHIEF -We both know the defintion of REAL terrier work but are you saying that a terrier that is entered via small fry will never make the grade of the true working tyke or is it a bit blinckered on your side .

    Its got nothing to do with time of year, more likely your your technique in squeaking and with going over the same ground too often.You have to vary a squeak if you do the same ground week after week,along with different filters .Try holding the attention of a fox with a loud sqeak while you stalk in closer .
