    All mustelids pursue quarry underground mate and kill there too .Once heard a squealing whilst out with the dogs from a bury along a river side that I was trapping mink.Sure enough a mink emerged but was driven in again by the terriers .Heeled in the holes and went home for a couple of cages .Opened up either end of the bury and dug 2 cages in ,one on each exit .No bait.Continued the walk and had the blood stained mink on my return .Curiosity was the lure this time and worked a treat.Otters will also hunt under ground ,all are opportunists .Bolted several stoats and weasels down our way with t

    i personally dont give a fxxxk about hunt work most ive encountered are arrogant and ignorant and seem to think they own the countryside and all its foxes!! Christ ,if captain fuckup heard you say that around our way you'd be nailed to the pub door .LOL. Some time ago ,a tenant farmer who was fed up with a fox killing his chickens up and shot the bugger one morning .The hunt found out and the farmer had a sign put on his farm gate saying "this man shot a fox ".He was shunned in the pub for quite a long time after .     Facts-The tenant farmer only has the right to shoot,control, pests ,vermin on leased land.He can authorise or appoint someone else to do this duty but it must be made known to the landowner . The sporting rights however ,are not his unless agreed or paid for . Problems arise when a dispute over what is a pest occurs as in your situation .The farmer regards them as a pest but the landowner may regard them as revenue ?Best to see the landowner first mate .Good luck .

    [The Silver and the BEW genes are both the same, the silver is how this ferret started off and in his next year he was DEW or BEW] heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey.Explain this in finer detail mate .I'm no stranger to genetics but this leaves me bewildered The genes of whites and polecats are different.The bew is closer to the white albino than the polecat ferret and the silver has polecat blueprint ,just different colour.

    Couple of points I'd change mate -1] The bait needs to be more pungent ,mink are drawn first to a land based bait by smell. 2]The lure stick ,while being a good thing ,should be under the trap,between bait and plate or on the plate .If the lure is the draw and to the side ,then there is a strong chance of the trap being turned over as the mink tries to find the source .EXPERIENCE.

    Out first light on Friday with no real expectations of a shot due to the weather,absolutely swilling down. Decided on a walk around a quarry I have which would be the most escluded place for a deer to lie up on this farm .Checked out the surrounding area with the bino's and saw nothing so a slow walk into the quarry mouth was in order .A rabbit bolted at my feet and around the corner and must have disturbed some deer as I heard the clicking of hocks before I saw them.Peered around the first hedge and saw the biggest roe buck I'd ever seen ,stood staring straight at me .I knew he wouldnt be a

    What nobody has failed to mention is that of RECESSIVE GENES .That is to say ,how is the silver bred or the black eyed white .If they come from true breeding parents[those that throw only that colour ]then the chances of deformities are higher when bred to a ferret of similar breeding but a different colour.IE-as you say ,a bew to a silver mit .These two ferret colourations are misfits really ,bred from a chance breeding off two normal coloured ferrets ,some time ago .These original parents had genetic defects ,affecting the colouration which we found attractive .The problem lies in that the c

    Worst year ever .Geared myself up with extra ferrets this autumn as numbers were at an all time high ,then wallop,lucky to see 10 all night on previously heaving pastures .Not seen the dead and dying of the mxy scurge so some are saying its RHD?
