  1. Yep i used to have that feeling, then I changed jobs, .....which saw me take a cut in pay, BUT i now work with people that i like, that is priceless!
  2. Guys i've got a University degree (and i am really not academic!), my friends at school who went on to do trades all own at least two properties, and earn considerably more than i do, ....however the University experience was priceless and gave me skills and knowledge outside the class room which has had a positive effect on my life. Take what you want from my comments. Cheers. Aled

    His last ride

RIP and condolences to family and friends.
  4. Bought a hand held chainsaw type Profon. Amazon no longer sell Saker, and people were complaining that they could not get returns etc if things went wrong! Anyway Profon means "Tested or Experienced" in Welsh! Gave it a go this afternoon worked well on the logs i tried it on, hopefully all will be well, and it will provide years of service. Also had a nice surprise as when i put it in my Amazon basket, the price reduced by £15! So here we go.
  5. I agree Arry, placed a style on the angling clubs stretch of the river last March....around 3 metres away from the river bank...it was washed away last week!!!
  6. I get where you are coming from chartpolski, my brother once said if he saw the name of a nurse with 25 years of front line NHS service on the ballot paper he wouldn't care which party they represented he would vote for them, i agree....however are you prepared to stand for parliament? I'm not! There are people across the political spectrum who see politics as a career choice, who do not have life experience. I would love to see experienced teachers, self made business people, the social worker, a council housing employee, Cornish Trawler man etc ( i think you get where i'm coming from) standi
  7. Yes my wife is as well, throw in my children's low protein diet and its hassle all round here!
  8. Totally agree with you littlefish, however fate can be unkind, my wife is a farmers daughter so was brought up on that type (as i was we had a smallholding) of food so of course....she hates it! As a bachelor i cooked that type of food weekly, no point cooking it for my other half!! Cheers. Aled
  9. As its a 6 Nations weekend a West Wales post rugby match favourite locally produced Ffagots, mash, peas and gravy served in a bowl and eaten with a spoon!

  14. Thanks guys. I've got a larger chain saw for bigger stuff, looking for a smaller one to get into those smaller gaps where you need a bit of thinning to start things off. Cheers. Aled
  15. Evening All With the hunting life forum being the broad church it is i am wondering if anybody has any experience of using the small hand held electric chain saw for pruning cutting small logs kindlin etc? See picture below. This isn't the specific brand i'm looking at (open minded as to type) but they seem to get mixed reviews so any advice appreciated. Cheers. Aled

    J P R Williams

A lot of that generation of Welsh rugby players had professions, quite a few teachers in that team of the 70's. I actually think that the Education act of 1948, which gave them access to higher education was one of the reasons the Welsh team of the 70's was so good.

  19. Wife did not want an engagement ring so i happily paid £1k for a wedding ring made with Welsh Gold, the rings partner was also £1k, i said no way was i wearing a £1k ring on my finger! So i bought a similar ring with some Welsh Gold in it for £200! Did however buy my Wife a nice ring for her 50th birthday last year. At the end of the day its your choice Wolfdog91! Do what suits you and your wife to be. Cheers. Aled
