  1. Well behind this year due to the wet weather, really hoping for the dry weekend promised this weekend so that i can get stuck in and turn the patch over and get ready for planting. Tomato, Cucumber and French Bean seeds are growing under cover indoors for now. One lot of container potatoes planted, the other container has potatoes from last year growing very well! How about the rest of you? Cheers. Aled
  2. Have you had your cholesterol checked recently? (I think you'll get the joke)
  3. Some lovely looking sea trout there.
  4. Dad's 80th & Brothers 50th so a family week in Ibiza this summer.
  5. My mates Father used to drink Whisky with water.
  6. Yep know that part of the Gower quite well, cracking location. Cheers. Aled
  7. Well guys hearing your responses I've learnt something new which is always a good thing. Shows that looks can be deceiving! So presume that beagles are no good for beating and useless at retrieving? Too headstrong, too hard mouthed? Cheers. Aled
  8. tatsblister: That dog looks a cracker, could probably join the beating line or down on the marsh wildfowling.
  9. Enjoyed reading those, nice one guys.
  10. Nice reply Yokel i agree.
  11. Cheers for the replies guys, just wondering I'm sure we've all come across dogs who were answerable to one person and if that person wasn't around there could be trouble! (Well i have anyway!)
  12. Question; Do these XL Bully breeds ever attack their owners or are they very faithful to them? Cheers. Aled
  13. Loved that song, funnily enough it was on a Netflix programme I watched last night, i was surprised by how much of the songs lyrics i can remember! RIP and condolences to family and friends.
  14. The woman was not well liked, she was known locally as "Y Hooch" which is Welsh for Sow. She should never have been allowed to be a playground assistant even in those days! I was not the only person who had an irrational run in with her.
  15. Found that comment quite interesting, got a few clips/smacks during my childhood years, now the only 2 that bug me were 2 i didn't deserve,...and one of them was given to me by a playground assistant when i was about 7, now had she left it there (as my teachers and parents did) it would of probably disappeared into my memory, however she kept reminding me of it which really got on my nerves...until one day in my early 20's .... i was working behind a desk at an establishment...she came in saw me behind the desk came up and said in Welsh "your Mam has said i can clip you" (she hadn't) and swun
  16. I get where you are coming from, my wife is in a similar situation. Wishing you well mate.
  17. Yep i used to have that feeling, then I changed jobs, .....which saw me take a cut in pay, BUT i now work with people that i like, that is priceless!
  18. Guys i've got a University degree (and i am really not academic!), my friends at school who went on to do trades all own at least two properties, and earn considerably more than i do, ....however the University experience was priceless and gave me skills and knowledge outside the class room which has had a positive effect on my life. Take what you want from my comments. Cheers. Aled

    His last ride

RIP and condolences to family and friends.
  20. Bought a hand held chainsaw type Profon. Amazon no longer sell Saker, and people were complaining that they could not get returns etc if things went wrong! Anyway Profon means "Tested or Experienced" in Welsh! Gave it a go this afternoon worked well on the logs i tried it on, hopefully all will be well, and it will provide years of service. Also had a nice surprise as when i put it in my Amazon basket, the price reduced by £15! So here we go.
  21. I agree Arry, placed a style on the angling clubs stretch of the river last March....around 3 metres away from the river bank...it was washed away last week!!!
  22. I get where you are coming from chartpolski, my brother once said if he saw the name of a nurse with 25 years of front line NHS service on the ballot paper he wouldn't care which party they represented he would vote for them, i agree....however are you prepared to stand for parliament? I'm not! There are people across the political spectrum who see politics as a career choice, who do not have life experience. I would love to see experienced teachers, self made business people, the social worker, a council housing employee, Cornish Trawler man etc ( i think you get where i'm coming from) standi
  23. Yes my wife is as well, throw in my children's low protein diet and its hassle all round here!
  24. Totally agree with you littlefish, however fate can be unkind, my wife is a farmers daughter so was brought up on that type (as i was we had a smallholding) of food so of course....she hates it! As a bachelor i cooked that type of food weekly, no point cooking it for my other half!! Cheers. Aled
  25. As its a 6 Nations weekend a West Wales post rugby match favourite locally produced Ffagots, mash, peas and gravy served in a bowl and eaten with a spoon!
