  1. The lines are old. But how long have they been known to the masses? Every man in the country has heard of AC now. Before he was in the Ireland book only a few will have heard of him. Im not crabbing the man btw. Im talking of the wannabes that constantly want the 'in' thing.
  2. That's what Im getting at. Everybody claims to have them but most of it is bullshit just because they've heard his name.
  3. 2 or 3 years ago Id never heard of the man. Now every man and his dog claims to have one off him. One lad I know even said his mate had bought one for £700! The Stevens stuff was all the rage before that. I'm sure the phase will pass and before you know it there'll be another name being the 'in' thing.
  4. Ive dug a couple with no brushes. Ive also bolted one with no brush and when the dog appeared behind it the brush was in his mouth. Which is how I think they lose them.
  5. Sound like well bred stuff to start a line with Glyn. Is that the Rags that went back to Parks blood?
  6. Some take longer to mature. Good breeding mixed with patience is usually rewarded with success. Hope he carries on for you.
  7. So whats the craic? I cant see the pic. Is it the teapot dog you were talking about before?
  8. Im talking about the photos of the two lads.
  9. I have a dog that's similar also. The warm weather seems to make it worse for him. In the Winter he's fine.
  10. Ring your provider. They'll change it the first time for free but it's £25 a go after that. That was with O2 so I imagine they all have similar tariffs.
  11. Think this is the dog. Taken from Didriksens book.
  12. I'm pretty sure there's a chapter on the dog in one of the old Terrier Yearbooks. Also gets mentioned in Didriksens book, Nick Stevens book and Plummers Fell Terrier so was pretty well known it would seem.
  13. I agree with that last bit . I've been quite disappointed with some people I've met but on the other hand I've been impressed by people that I didn't think I would be. So it's swings and roundabouts.
  14. I'd say worry about them entering before how they'll work.
  15. I've never dug a rabbit with one of my own dogs but I have dug them digging on in tight tubes and bollocked them for 'rabbiting'. I did once dig 2 rats in a stop end with one. A young dog only gave a slight mark on the lead so I let him run through and got a mark at 2 ft, dug down and he was digging up a tiny tube. Pulled him out and a rats head appeared, it jumped out and was away. Then another appeared and it only made it to the edge of the dig before my mate volleyed it into kingdom come! Lol
  16. My biggest influence showed me a different viewpoint to the way that I looked at it. That it's not always black and white with terrierwork and that its as much to do with the bond between you and the dog as too how far and how much success you can get from the dog. Also not to be too hasty with a dog and give it plenty of time to mature and progress before making any rash decisions. Lads that put a dog down at the first opportunity don't impress me and rarely have anything of note in their kennels.
  17. Im not on facebook, but some pics on there that my mates have shown me are ridiculous regarding working terriers. Lads bringing unnecessary attention to themselves and to the past time we love for the sake of a pat on the back is embarrasing.
  18. I never realised you did the mating Mik. How did they turn out and did they make decent sizes?
  19. The problem with the Meindl Dovres and the Lowa Extremes is theyre made for walking comfort and have a spongy type material in between the sole and the boot and any type of digging soon damages the sponge and is very difficult to replace. Id be looking at Glockners or Hanwags if you're doing any digging. Also footplates on the roundmouths make a world of difference.
