  1. Whoever it is knows the place, knew the pups were there and knows the lads routine. Narrow it down to them 3 things and the list will be very small IMO.
  2. Must be someone that knows they were there. Narrow it down amd youll find the culprit!
  3. When money's involved bullshit is never far behind.
  4. I know of more than 2 instances where terriers have pulled another terriers leg through the gaps between runs and either the dogs have hadto be put to sleep or lost limbs. And these weren't idiot kids but seasoned terriermen that know their dogs inside out. At the end of the day theyre animals and one daft thing can set them off.
  5. I put in a soakaway for my dog pens last summer. 3 foot deep with a soakaway pipe at the bottom sloping away and filled in with pebbles.. I swill the dog pens into it every day and Ive had no smell whatsoever so it must be the fact you havent put a pipe in and its soaking into the mud and the smell is coming from there.
  6. Most of these litters where the 'mystical' white pup pops up is not from years ago when Cyril Breay put a white dog in or Anthony Barkers Illfracombe dogs were introduced etc despite what the seller claims. But more likely because the seller bought in the litter as an unknown and passes them off as their own.
  7. I've looked at these myself but they didn't work out much cheaper than the solid Galv panels. Not sure how it would work out building your own. But I think I'm going down the solid panel route next with bar dividers and bar front gates. Small wooden kennel inside or a plastic barrel and a decent roof... Definitely use solid dividers between pens. Don't want a dog getting dragged through the bars!Dragged through the bars? Do you keep lions and alligators? LolIt's happened in many a kennel over the years.
  8. Always enjoyed Darcys books but wish he would bring more terrier than lurcher ones out! Another big one like Little Dogs or Dig Deep would be my cup of tea.
  9. The perfect type of stamp for a terrier! Lovely pair.
  10. What's a micro rabbit? I know you can have dwarf lops an those Netherlands dwarf rabbits are tiny. All I know is theyre some sort of miniature rabbit. And I also know that after the initial week or two the novelty will wear off and I'll be left to look after the bloody thing, as well as making sure the dogs don't get it!
  11. When you look at it that way HPR I get where youre coming from.
  12. You're lucky. My 7 year old daughter wants a 'micro rabbit'! FFS.
  13. Ronnie f***ing Pickering
  14. Youre lucky with your annual trip. We have them 365 days a year!
  15. I dont know how you can say that for a 100% certainty with terriers. Ive never dug a dog or failed to dig a dog and thought the dog would have done better with more fitness. How can you say? I'm talking the difference between a dog thats walked twice a day, fed good food and kept in good kennels between a dog that runs on a mill. How can you tell the difference between the 2?
  16. Yes a dog can be made better by being fitter, heart comes in when there tired. I'd disagree with that totally. Heart (gameness) doesn't come in to it with fitness. I've seen terriers that are fit as a fiddle walk after 5 minutes and refuse to enter without even being out of breath.Obviously day to day fitness such as regular walks and exercise are necessary but optimum fitness found on a treadmill won't make a dog that lacks heart any better IMO.
  17. I sort of agree with you HPR but where is the line between a dog failing because of lack of heart and lack of fitness? Are you saying that a dog that lacks a bit of heart can be made better by fitness?
  18. I work 5 days a week and in Winter I leave the house in the dark and get home in the dark added to the time restraints of having a young family but the dogs still get plenty of exercise and are fit enough for work. I fully agree it's a handy tool to have but I think it could make a lot of owners lazy, they look good bits of kit but how necessary they are for working terriers is up for debate I think.
  19. I think the dog in the pic is a nice dog but doesn't look any different to many black, rough coated 'Patterdales' do when theyre clipped out.
  20. I'd agree with that Neil. I enjoy getting the dogs out and having a bit of peace and quiet over the fields aswell as keeping them mentally and physically fit by doing so. Ive never struggled with a 'digging dog' failing through being unfit so trotting them on a mill IMO could be a bit overkill and like has been said could make them total superfit head bangers during the summer and a nightmare to kennel. But each to their own.
