  1. Enjoyed the Borzoi coursing..... that land made the Fens look like my back garden !!!! Cheers.
  2. I've seen ex track Greyhounds that could destroy hare, fox and roe; unfourtunately I've also seen ex track greyhounds destroy THEMSELVES on hare, fox and Roe, on their first run ! I've never had the opportunity to bring a Greyhound pup up as a "Lurcher", but I'm sure it could be done ! Cheers.
  3. Happy Anniversary, Tom , for the Declaration Of Arbroath !!! Cheers.
  4. I can't speak for LDR, but if next years comp goes ahead, you'll be in the frame; unlike the arsehole with a 1000 names who is still trying to ruin it !! LOL !! It WILL be invite only, to keep the JACKERS and WHINgers out !! Cheers.
  5. Until some tree hugging rambler see's them and calls the police ! Cheers.
  6. When I read the report, I thought "what the hell do they expect !!!!".... six of them, saturday afternoon, walking fields where it's realy hot !!! Are they to lazy to get up at daybreak and have a mooch around by themselves or just with a mate ??? No sympathy here !! Cheers.
  7. Davey, your pup has Doxhope and Ardkinglas breeding on the Sires side;; http://kilbournedeerhounds.com/pedcreate.php?code=18497 Cheers.
  8. I've allways thought the 'arab would make a good addition to lurcher blood, also the catahoula, pity we don't have them here in the UK. The Borzoi we have here have more or less been ruined by the KC and the Wolfhound would add nothing at all to the lurcher, they are not the same dogs as you have down there, unfortunately. Cheers.
  9. Sorry lad. what I am asking is what is the best all round pure bred dog in your opinion. if a pure grey and a pure whippet is not an option. that help? Well in that case, the best "all rounder" in my mind would be a Saluki or a Deerhound, but neither would make a good allrounder. Cheers. Can a greyhound though in your opinion? No Dan, I don't think a Greyhound can make a good "allrounder", but, to me, they have to be the base blood in any running dog, and I personaly like about 50 percent Grey in a running dog Cheers.
  10. Sorry lad. what I am asking is what is the best all round pure bred dog in your opinion. if a pure grey and a pure whippet is not an option. that help? Well in that case, the best "all rounder" in my mind would be a Saluki or a Deerhound, but neither would make a good allrounder. Cheers.
  11. What exactly are you asking ? Are you asking what would be the best CROSS with a Whippet or Greyhound; or, as the title to the post suggests, are you asking what would be the best pure bred, WITHOUT Whippet or Greyhound in it ? Very confusing !! Cheers.
  12. Wag isn't the best complete food, even though I use it just as a "mixer" with BARF for my adult dogs. A pup should be on a mixture of foods, including meat, fish, eggs and milk, allong with some bone or calcium powder. I wouldn't have a 12 week old puppy on ANY complete food. Cheers.
  13. It will be interesting to see how your competition go'es this year.... Best of luck with it !! Cheers.

    NEW SHED

Shiplap and overlap are complete rubbish ! Be prepared to replace it in about 2 years !! Tonque & Groove is the best, ONLY if it is at least 12 mill thick. Also, whats the roof and floor made from ? If it is that pressed shaving stuff; forget it !! At the end of the day, you only get what you pay for !! Cheers.
  15. 4 TO 3 TERRIBLE SHOW TOUGH SURELY WE CANT BRAG ON THEM NUMBERS Who's bragging on anything ?? And why should you be interested ?? You wern't involved, were you ??? People entered the competition, traveled litteraly 1000's of miles, met other people who had the same interests, and had a decent time working their dogs, and forming friendships that will last !! The naysayers will allways complain....but never enter a comp !! Cheers.
  16. Sorry to hear about the dog, A, I know you will have done the best for him ! What pisses me off is people going on about tomato juice, honey, gator aid, etc;.... when a dog is in the posistion yours was; you just get to a vet, as you did !! You don't come on a web site and ask people who sit behind a computer screen for advice ! How many times have we heard "my dog has broke a toe"; "my dog is coughing up worms", etc ?? "What should I do ? " One lunatic advised a lad to put tabbaco down the dogs throat !! A dog I knew very well had the same problems as yours, after taking a massive bag of rabb
  17. Congratulations to LDR and Bruce; and well done to all who took part !! Cheers.
  18. why? are you saying you didn't say that? you had the same pictures up of your old saluki. As you know we don't have the old posts any more since the forum changed or i would show you :)it may even have been on another forum but it was you for sure . I've said in the past that pure Saluki's wouldn't be the best for the land I run, and I stick by that, but there is land like the fens, where they can excell !! I have owned pure Saluki and Saluki Hybrids in the 70's & 's, and owned and worked a pure Saluki in the middle east, so I'm hardly jumping on some "Saluki bandwaggon" !!! How l
  19. it wasn't that long ago you was saying salukis are no good for running over here. funny how the price goes up on them and every one wants one cant wait till the price comes down and all the peddlers stop keeping salukis. When did I say that,Mush ? And why go on about price and peddlers ???? I have never bred a pup in over 45 years of owning running dogs !!! Cheers.
  20. "Nice dog", "Well Done", "Fair play"... etc, etc,....FFS It's a dropped rabbit !! It might be a nice pup, but come on !! Cheers.
  21. Deerhound or Bull X... he's obviously talking about Deer X's, but I'll let the poster confirm this !!
  22. OK Mush, I'll run my "big, clumsy" deer x on the quarry I got her for, and if she doesn't do the job, then I'll wish I knew as much as you ! Cheers.
  23. have a big clumsy Deerhound cross for rabbits and hares Hmmm... I thought you knew your dogs...obviously not. Cheers.
  24. is that the saluki centre job?,guess it is ! ok wouldnt tell you how to do your buissiness , but there is other breeders out there !! but good luck Yes it is, but my saluki was a gift from Prince Turki Bin Faisal of Saudi Arabia, and came from Beduins. It helps if you know the culture and the language when talking Salukis or Falcons to the Arabs. I lived there for 26 years and my son still lives there, so we have a slight advantage if I wanted to get the best. Cheers.
