    it wasn't that long ago you was saying salukis are no good for running over here. funny how the price goes up on them and every one wants one cant wait till the price comes down and all the peddlers stop keeping salukis. When did I say that,Mush ? And why go on about price and peddlers ???? I have never bred a pup in over 45 years of owning running dogs !!! Cheers.

    is that the saluki centre job?,guess it is ! ok wouldnt tell you how to do your buissiness , but there is other breeders out there !! but good luck Yes it is, but my saluki was a gift from Prince Turki Bin Faisal of Saudi Arabia, and came from Beduins. It helps if you know the culture and the language when talking Salukis or Falcons to the Arabs. I lived there for 26 years and my son still lives there, so we have a slight advantage if I wanted to get the best. Cheers.

    Last time I was out to visit, Hamed offered me a pup, but insisted it didn't go in quarrantine, and preffered I had it from 3 month old, to socialise and train it. In Saudi there is the 2 month house quarrantine agreement with the UK now, so that may be the way to go. Cheers.

    When he died, I was given a replacement; unfourtunately it wasn't a Saluki !!! It was a Doberman !! I did import her, but that was before pets passports, and she had to do 6 month quarrantine, I wouldn't put a dog thru' that again, so I'm looking into the alternatives. Cheers.

    Had this old boy when I lived in the Middle East; got him given at 6 month and had him PTS at 17 years old. Pure bred Beduin Saluki; he would have added some decent blood to the UK stock, but unfortunately I never had the chance to import him; Still toying with the idea of bringing one in from Saudi, or the U.A.E. Cheers.

    The question is not which is the BEST X, it's which would make the best allrounder. Bull X's excel at what they do, but I doubt anyone would buy one specificaly for rabbits and hares. Whereas a Deer x could do these and, pre ban, run fox and deer. So for some one who wanted to do a bit of everything, then a Deer X would PROBABLY be better than a Bull X ! Cheers.

    Well, there will be people vehemently disagree with me; but I don't think you can class a Bull X as an "All Rounder"; but you could, posibly, get an "All Rounder" Deer x type! I don't think anyone looking for an all rounder would go for a Bull X. Cheers.

    A lot of lads, when asked how their dog is bred, will answer truthfully, "It's Lurcher X Lurcher" no need to mention loads of different breeds that may or may not have gone into the dogs make up. Also, "Suzuki" has been used as a name for Saluki Hybrids for many years around the North East, perhaps the lad was just carrying on a tradition ? Cheers.

    The Borzoi is used fairly commonly in crosses with the Staghound in the U.S. and Australia,but of course they are used to hunt different game than what we are used to, although I've heard they are more than decent on fox ! Isn't there an Irish Greyhound clearing up at the Lurcher racing, that is 1/16th Borzoi ? I can't see any problem with this cross the lad is proposing;I personaly would use a Non-Ped Whippet, with a fair bit of Grey blood in it, but thats only my opinion ! Best of luck to him ! Cheers.

    Whin, I wouldn't go anywhere near you for a run out with dogs !! I go out by myself or with a couple of close pals, ( LDR, Mally, Gin), lads who wouldn't dream of 'phoning people up behind my back and slagging me off !
