Is there a lot of feral cats in your area, Nick ? Didn't see to many when I was down there, but the dogs seemed to deal with them ok when they come across them. Cheers.

Perhaps this will put to rest the question "can one dog take 100 rabbits ?" It's been done in the past, and these lads have proved it CAN be done ! They went out of their way, with good dogs and did it !! Well done lads, and dogs !! Cheers.

Of course he's right !! But posting another bitching topic that will only invite the type of replies it has, doesn't help !! Why not post something about hunting if you are so keen ?? Cheers.

Rather ironic, isn't it ? Posting a topic bitching about...... bitching !! LOL !! Cheers.

When Parvo first started to appear round here, late 70's, early 's, I had 3 dogs. Two adults, (a Collie x and a Saluki x), and an 8 month pup, (Deerhound x), in the same kennels. The pup caught Parvo and died, even with extensive vet treatment. The other dogs were fine. All of them had been innoculated. I burnt all the bedding and cleaned the kennels out with Jeyes Fluid. I think it's just luck if your other dogs get it or not. Hope all works out well for you and your dogs ! Cheers.

So, going by your calculation; the dog that did 101 would have caught one rabbit every 4 to 5 minutes ? Cheers.

England judging terriers/lurchers
chartpolski replied to sillydilly's topic in Gamefairs, Meet Up's and Events
I'm one of these extroverts who LOVES judging !! I must admit, I prefer judging Whippets, as there is a "standard" to work to, rather than with Lurchers, where it is simply the Judges preference ! Of course, if like me, you like rough coated dogs, you MUST have the integrety to put up a smooth coated dog, if it is the better specimen ! Same with size...... how many times have we seen the under 23"; literaly and metorphoricaly, overshadowed by the bigger dog ? Very rarely will you see a top class Beddy/Whippet win over a mediochre Deerhound/Greyhound, but it's only in one persons eyes that's th -
feck me charti , dont say that you'll be labeled a cruel b*****d like me Chid; there's some VERY well known people from this site have had their dogs in my kennels, and no complaints, (also had a few of thier dogs in my house and bedrooms, and no complaints from me !!) !! If a dog is good enough to graft.... it;s good enough to be well looked after !! Cheers. what you had whins dogs in your kennel.................lol.............. there dogs...........dont make a difference if the people are well known or not , dont make his or her dog any diferrent to the next..............
-
I would imagine we all have...... but wouldn't come on an open forum talking about it !! Cheers.

Am I reading this right ?? You've been chased off some fields you haven't got permission to be on................... and you have come on here asking for comments ????? Cheers.

England judging terriers/lurchers

So what if a Judge has MANY friends in the show scene ? Should he/she not be allowed to judge ? Or should his/her integrety not be taken into consideration ?? There are Judges who would rather fall out with "friends" than corrupt their integrity; and frankly, without these genuine judges, the show scene would be f****d !! Cheers. -

Old, or even new, duvet's are crap ! They hold moisture and the dogs tear them to shreds !! If your kennel is draught proof, water proof, and insulated enough, you should need nothing more than a raised bed and some old carpet ! Carpet samples can be got for free from all carpet shops or carpet fitters. The main point is DRY & DRAUGHT FREE !! Most dogs are tougher than we think, and prefer a decent kennel, than being in the house ! Cheers.

I'd make sure you are going direct to and from your permission mate.............stopping of for a spot of lunch in the town centre with a knife and your up shit creek. We have all done it...you just forget its in your pocket. I went to a Celtic game with a box of 50g .222 bullets in my pocket.............. Well the box WAS wrapped in a pound of semtex and aimed at some poor b*****d you thought had been taking your birds... shame you were at the wrong game, and should have been at the Toon game !! LOL !! Cheers.

I'd say it was a fairly regular occurance, and if it worries you so much; then just boycott those shows ! Cheers. -
I've tried to post a comment on the link, but I can't. These people should be made aware, in no uncertain terms, that hunting rabbits with dogs IS legal, as per "The Hunting Act 2004" !! If these people had their way, not only would ALL hunting be made ilegal, but it would also be a crime to have a pocket knife on your person; something which IS NOT ilegal in certain circumstances ! Well done to Gragman and Goz for putting our side of the debate so eloquently !! !! Cheers.

Have seen the D. Slieght show where he races the pigeon against the Greyhound, a few times ! Good craic, and the pigeon wins every time !! Cheers.

Quite right it doesn't help the way the media fill Joe Public full of shit too, you only have to look through some of the press/tv etc informing the layman "if you see lads with Lurcher dogs, terriers, spades out on a sunday they ARE Badger baiters phone the police straight away". I've been sat the other side of a hedge quietly whilst listening to a rambler on their mobile " Hello, I'd like to report a foxhunt, yes we are at blah blah blah and there are about 40 dogs and twenty riders blah blah blah " Not a fox in sight, not a single hound making a noise but this person believes that hunti

Doc; I'd suppose when people say they want a dog from "your line", thats when the dogs you've bred and proved themselves for long enough on the quarry they were bred for, that it just may be "your line " !! Cheers.

Inan, I agree that the SYMPTOMS of kennel cough are treatable, I've always understood that it is not curable ? Vets will definately take you for a ride with what they prescribe. A retired vet I used to beat for on a shoot said just seperate the dog(s) with the cough, keep them warm and well hydrated, no excercise and it'll pass in a week to ten days. It will run like wildfire thru' kennells and is easy picked up at shows. Cheers.
