  1. Who took the piss ? I certainly didn't. Cheers.
  2. I've just got round to fitting draught excluder around the doors, and filled holes in the back of the kitchen units with expanding foam. I went around with a lighter and couldn't believe the draughtsI found ! The rolls of foam tape and cans of foam were cheap as chips from Amazon, and there is a very noticeable difference. My gas /electric bills have gone up by £60 a month, but my pension has only gone up by less than £3 a week, so any savings is welcome. Cheers.
  3. What type are the dogs that retrieve roe ? Ive had a dog that retrieved live fox, not something I really wanted ! ? ! But never roe. Cheers.
  4. Sorry to bore people with this pic again, but it's how I imagine the deerhound may have looked before the KC got hold of them; Cheers.
  5. Neither of my two in the pics have anything to do with Platt. Both are first cross deerhound-Greyhound ? Cheers.
  6. I'm old school, Don.......don't slag the dog or the family. Slagging each other is fair game, sometimes even humorous ? Cheers.
  7. Play nice now, lads. Leave families out of it ? Cheers.
  8. They certainly throw true to type ; Lima at 10 month; Nancy at 8 month. Cheers.
  9. The council will give us the poison for free. I think with the cut backs they've probably reduced the number of pest controllers they have. So they want us to do it ourselves, but one of us needs the certificate. They used to do pest control for all houses, private and council, rats, mice, wasps etc, for free but now they charge you. Same with taking away old fridges and stuff, used to be free , but now it's a £40 charge ! Cheers.
  10. That's the one I've just looked at ? Ill check with Urban Green just to make sure. Cheers.
  11. The council used to come and put rat poison in the bait boxes, but now they've handed the running of the Allotments to Urban Green, and they've said they will supply the poison for us but we need someone with a rat poison license/certificate to refill the boxes. Ive had a look on line, and there's different courses ranging from 3-4 hours on line, one day attended course and three day attended course, prices range from £25-£130. I don't mind doing the course, but want to make sure I do the correct one. Any pest controllers on here can help ? Cheers.
  12. Years ago, Ryton Council in their wisdom decide to build an outdoor swimming pool. Of course it was far to cold most of the year up here for people to use it, so the Council decided to stock it with trout and have fishing. Some pals of mine, drinking in the Darkies Bar, just the other side of the Tyne, decided one night to stretch a net across the deep end of the pool and walk it up to the shallow end, and completely emptied it of fish. It was never used again as a swimming pool or trout pond. Cheers.
  13. My son was the Entry Clearance Officer at the British Cosulate in Saudi, and was tasked with implementing biometric passports in embassies around the world. He loved South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and other countries he went to , but hated every moment he was in India ! He got Delhi Belly badly, hated the filth, the beggars, the caste system, and vowed never to go there again, even if it cost him his job. He lived in Leicester when he was at boarding school, so I thought India wouldn't faze him ! ? ! Cheers.
  14. What about this cyclist, who until last month was winning men's races, but has taken testosterone suppressants for a year and is now entering women's races, even though he is two minutes faster than the women ? Or the guy who went from men's swimming to women's swimming ? As far as I'm aware, neither has had any surgery or gender reassignment, apart from the testosterone suppression. Should it be allowed, or will it ruin women's sport ? Cheers.
  15. It's on it's way south, according to the forecasts. Cheers.

    Snow.

Fair bit of snow falling in Northumberland People were putting seeds in and sunbathing at the Allotments last weekend ! Global warming, ehh ? Cheers.
  17. I liked him in "Enemy Of The State", but Gene Hackman was better. Cheers.
  18. I fish both of them regularly, but the best time to go is just after a big competition or charity fish, as they make sure they're well stocked just before. Keilder is allways good just after the Jack Charlton Charity Competition. Ive had some decent fish and big catches from both them, but also some blank days Cheers.
  19. I had a rainbow trout for my tea today. I caught it at Keilder or Fontburn, I know they are stockies, not wild, but would they be classed as "farmed" ? Cheers.
  20. I don't see how it's naughty, it was brought up at one of the Labour conferences , and it wasn't rejected. I didn't say they had voted on it. The mere fact that it was discussed should have alarm bells ringing. Cheers.
  21. Labour have in the past called for the banning of all field sports, angling, horse racing, Greyhound racing, the keeping of pet animals and birds. Cheers.
  22. We used to think that with the racing whippets. We'd mate our bitches with our mates or neighbours dogs, until the availability of transport and communications became available to the average working man, then we saw what we were missing and travelled further afield in search of the best. Would the coursing dog be what they are now without the saluki imports ? Cheers.
