It's one of the perks of being old ! ?? Cheers.

I got carried out of a British Consulate, blind drunk, after a Scottish pal and I bunged the Indian barman to make sure our glasses were never empty. I got a Marine escort out of an American embassy when I nutted an ex fiancé of my daughters. Funnily enough I didn't get banned from either and was welcomed back many times. I was a lot younger and sillier back then ! Cheers.

I worked for a Sheik one time, and his "fixer" was an old school tie ex diplomat. He invited me for dinner, and afterwards asked if I'd care for a brandy coffee. I said could you put the brandy in a glass and the coffee in a cup , as mixing them spoils good coffee and brandy ? I was never invited back ! ? Cheers.

Getting your Huxley's and your Orwell's mixed up could end your social life in my circles ! ? Cheers.

My dad and a lot of my pals worked at Seal Sands, good jobs and good pay back then when it was being built. Cheers.

Aldous, just to be pedantic ! ?? Cheers.

Although Sunderland has got nothing anyone wants, (sorry Mackem), its unfortunately right in between Newcastle and the immense petrochemical complexes of Teeside, another first strike target, so they get nuked no matter what, they've never had much luck...... Cheers.
-
I know that during the Cold War, Newcastle was a first strike target for Russian nukes, because of the Armstrong tank factory and Mitchell Bearings on Scotswood Road, and the Naval shipyard on the Tyne. Not sure if any of them are operational now, if they're not, I hope Putins updated his targets and leaves us the f**k alone ! ? ! Cheers.

Just been talking to a friend in Saudi. He is half Russian half Syrian . He told me his brother went to Moscow just before the invasion to visit family, and is now stuck there. Aeroflot has cancelled his return ticket as they can't fly outside of Russia due to the sanctions and there are no foriegn airlines flying. So, he's stuck in Russia and can't get back to his home, family and business in Dubai. The Russian people are slowly realising what the truth is. Cheers.

I was an ex pat, but have been retired a long time. Dose that make me an ex ex pat ?? Cheers.

There are opposing views and opinions on a no-fly zone, but my opinion is in line with the western leaders and NATO: the moment a NATO aircraft downs a Russian plane, it opens the door for Putin to start WW3 ! I think it's now obvious Russia couldn't win a conventional war with the west, so his option would be to go nuclear. Maybe starting with tactical battlefield nuclear strikes, which NATO would respond to in kind. That could, and probably would, result in Putin launching ICBM's, then its over for all of us ! So, I can see why NATO is content to supply Ukraine with state of t

To be honest, I think Boris is acquitting himself better in this emergency than in his usual oafish, bumbling performances. "Cometh the hour, cometh the man" ? Who knows ? ? Cheers.

Porg, (person of restricted growth), is the accepted woke term these days ! ? Cheers.

But Russia knew about these bio labs, they were under Russian control until the fall of the Soviet Union, then handed to Ukraine ostensibly to decommission chemical and bio weapons, who runs them now and what they produce, I haven't got a clue ? Cheers.
-
Isn't she Stephen Kinnock, the Labour MP's wife ? Cheers.
-
Do you not think every "developed" country in the world has bio labs, Francie ? Wether to develop pathogens or antigens, for medical use or as bio weapons ? These places, by their very nature, have to be secretive. What do you think the UK has been doing at Porton Down all these years ? Cheers.

I know it's just a microcosm in the great scheme of things when people are dying and being displaced, but what will happen to Chelsea FC now ? No one can buy it, Abramovich can't sell it, there can be no investment in it, no ticket sales, club shops closed, transfer ban. A "special license " has been issued to allow them to keep playing, and wages paid, but no money in, no money out ! I think a lot of their players will be consulting their lawyers to get them out of their contracts. Cheers.

I'm looking at the present, and if this atrocity was found to be committed by the Ukrainians, world opinion would turn against them, why would they risk that when world opinion is with them ? It would be a massive coup for Russia, so it makes absolutely no sense militarily or politically. It only seems to appeal to the wildest of conspiracy theories . To be honest, I'm regretting even debating this with you, as I feel it's absolute nonsense. You have your vision of the world, I've seen enough, travelled enough, and lived long enough to form opinions, that could be changed o

He's a difficult student, like a spirited horse or a recalcitrant Saluki, but I'm patient, I'm convinced there enough there to work with ? Cheers.

So you're still insinuating that the shelling of the maternity hospital may have been a false flag operation ? Dear God................
-
Just my own opinion , but Putin seems to have massively underestimated the opposition to his invasion. He hasn't been able to roll over Ukraine, and the resistance is massively bigger than expected. The sanctions are hurting far more economically than expected and socially. China is looking on and thinking " do we back our communist comrades, and risk sanctions, or stay out of it and continue getting rich selling consumer goods to the west ", they ain't stupid, sell to the rich west or support a skint Russia ? The sanctions have ruined the ruble, Russia is about to default
-
OK, I'll indulge you, who do you think shelled the maternity hospital? Cheers.
-
Don't patronise me, of course we are lied to and misled, but if you believe that maternity hospital wasn't shelled by the Russians, then I ill not afford you the least credibility. Cheers.
