Places like Marie Currie and McMillans shouldn’t need to be charities, they take a huge burden off the NHS with their cancer work, palliative care, end of life care and support of families. They should be funded, like the NHS from general taxation, not having to depend on charity. Cheers.

But I’m not trying to justify anything. I’m pointing out that Newcastles new found wealth hasn’t made them the mega spenders some people think. They are staying within the Fair Play Rules and are no means the biggest spenders in the Premier according to most estimates, with even, as I pointed out, spending less than the likes of West Ham, and far less than the likes of Chelsea, Man U and City. Im in a rather unique position of having Saudi family and connections, so I understand that having Saudi backing the team I’ve supported through thick and thin may not resonate quite as much as for

I asked Hamed Guhnaim if he preferred feathered or smooth, he said in his opinion coat made absolutely no diffence. I think it's the same with lurchers, rough or smooth makes no difference to performance, it's purely aesthetic and personal choice. ? Cheers. -
Those balloons will have been tracked since their launch. Something as big as three buses flying at 60,000 feet will have been watched and handed over by dozens of air traffic controls, both civilian and military. Only when they violate airspace will it be let known. Cheers.

A million would be nice, but to be honest, if a young couple win a million, they could buy a nice house, a decent motor, have a holiday, but couldn’t retire on what was left ! They’d still have to have an income. Bit different for us old ‘uns who probably have a mortgage free house, etc. I could manage on a million ! LOL ! Cheers.

Man City have been charged by the EPL of over 100 offences concerning Financial Fair Play. I bet Chelsea’s lawyers and financial people are in a panic as to how to explain spending half a billion pounds on players this season and staying within the rules ! Cheers.

I was gifted a Doberman to replace an old saluki I had lost. Not adog I would have ever considered owning, but it would have been churlish and disrespectful to refuse it. Anyhow, I brought it back from the Middle East when I retired, and it started a new career working with the lurchers, and even got a mention in one of Darcy's books ! It was dog and people friendly, but a decent guard dog. My only experience of the breed, but I guess there's good and bad in all breeds . Cheers.

Can't find anything on the news, but I'm not supprised at the msn suppressing bad reports about immigrants ! Cheers.

How many lurched men would have thrown the hunts under the bus if it would have saved lurched work and coursing ? Not me, as I course, hunt and shoot……but people can be very selfish when it comes to protecting their own. Problem as I see it, we ALL marched against the Hunting Act, but as soon as it was enforced, we all went our separate ways in support of our own peculiar field sports. The Countryside Alliance didn’t just stop supporting coursing and lurched work, the turned against us !!! Cheers.

I remember drinking in a pub called The Boathouse, in Lemington, right on the river bank, over fifty years ago, and lads cropping bull dogs ears on the bar table ! Dogs ear on a beer mat, swift slice with a Stanley knife, a coating of flour, and that was that. This was done in the pub when it was open, people sitting drinking, playing dominoes, no one batted an eyelid, it was like being in some dystopian, Dickens novel. Game fowl in the yard, trotters in the stables, lurcher shows in the car park, pair of rabbits, trout or maybe pheasants on the domino card. God knows what

As the old saying goes, "there's lies, damned lies, and statistics". This quick Google says Newcastle are the 5th biggest spenders in the Premier, one place below West Ham, and a long way short of Chelsea and Man United. Premier League five-year net spend table: Chelsea take over from Man Utd; Newcastle move up WWW.FOOTBALL365.COM Forget the league table, it's all about the Premier League net spend table. Man Utd have been hauled in by Chelsea. But I wasn't on about how much they've spent, rather the way they are spending it, on player

I may agree slightly, but a lot of those players were there before the take over and Howe has improved them. I think Newcastle are doing it right; not going for “galicticos”, but getting players that steadied the ship, avoided relegation, buying youth for the future, and building a good team. Id say they are ahead of where they planned or thought they would be, and I hope there’s no disappointment if we don’t finish in the top four or win the cup. But it’s a very happy place to be tonight ! Cheers.

Ate him yesterday, Hardest, meanest bird Ive ever seen. He won three matches but lost an eye and was going to be knacked, but I took pity on him and gave him a home in a big run with a young hen for company, but he got more and more "manny" and vicious and almost had my face when I bent down to collect the eggs. Few hours in the slow cooker with onions, garlic, chilli's, and soy sauce, and he was supprisingly tasty and tender ! I like to think he wasn't wasted ! Cheers.

Some of us don’t watch coursing videos on YouTube 24/7 ……..LOL ! Cheers.

I was one who was unhappy with Nicepix being made a moderator, and openly said so. But him being an ex policeman wasn't the only reason; he still got involved in arguments, and treated some members worse than others, with bans, and openly mocked others. Behaviour, I thought, unbecoming of a moderator. However, he has absolutely no obligation to explain to anyone why he isn't posting.....that's his business, no one else's. Just my take on it. Cheers.

I've only drove past Moffat on the way to Abingdon and Crawford numerous times to hunt the hills around there. Kielder is one of my regular areas to hunt and fish. Cheers.
-
Can't open the link, but is that Moffat just up the M74 from Carlisle? If it is, there's plenty good hunting land around there, and Tomo, you can be in Carlisle in less than an hour. Hardly isolated. Cheers.

They basically banned hunting with running dogs in 2005, apart from rabbits on permission . I never had permission before or after the ban, but I kept hunting. This shite law will affect me in that I've been invited up to Scotland many time by good lads like Beddy Dave on their permissions, but it won't stop me doing what I've done for over 55 years. If you've walked "the other side of the fence" all your life, it won't make any difference, just be more sensible and careful. but of course we shouldn't have to.....it seems the rights of perverts, peadophiles, murderers, etc,

Newcastle City Council, (Labour), are bringing in a ULEZ for the city centre for " older buses, trucks, taxis, vans and other non eco vehicles ",whatever that means . When asked if it will later encompass ALL internal combustion engined vehicles, they refused to say. It will cost each vehicle £12:50 per day. Some businesses have already said they can't afford compliant vehicles, so the cost will have to be passed on to the customer or go out of business. Retailers have said this will kill the High Streets, and The Eldon Square shopping centre has said it will drive customers out -
Mussels in wine and white sauce, on a bed of noodles, accompanied by a rather nice South African Sauvignon, Bon apetit, mes amis.

China is also the Eu's biggest trading partner, but that doesn't mean the EU is going to ditch the Euro for the Yuan any time soon. All major countries hold foreign currency reserves and trade in foreign currency, including the U.K., but the USD is still the "worlds currency". I don't know how much you've travelled, but if you are in Moscow, Hong Kong, Havana, New Delhi, Brasilia, etc, wether you're getting a taxi or buying gold, they will invariably ask " you have dollar ?" . Ive never been anywhere when they ask " you have ruble, yuan, rupee or Brazilian riyal" ! LOL ! An
