He supports PSG , mate ! Yeah, football is huge in Saudi. Cheers.

I've supported Newcastle all my life, went to all the home European games in the 60's and 70's, went to all the cup runs, home and away in the 70's. Still supported them when I could when I lived abroad. Been to a few games since I came home, and made sure I took my grandson on a stadium tour when he visited here. I, too, tried to avoid the Newcastle/Sunderland nonsense, simply because I don't consider it a "Derby" To be fair, I've allways said if there was darts, snooker and football on the telly I'd watch the darts, record the snooker, and miss the football, so I'm

Probably the best Speaker in my lifetime, certainly head and shoulders above the likes of Bercow and Gorbals Mick ! Cheers.

We haven't had anything to talk about in the last 50 years ! LOL ! Cheers.

Brexit. Success? Too early to judge? Disaster?
chartpolski replied to jukel123's topic in General Talk
I voted leave, but I can understand why people who voted remain were upset. What I can’t understand is why some are actively working to make Brexit fail, to the detriment of our country. Id go as far as to say it’s a treasonous act to actively support a foreign power against your own country. Cheers.- 644 replies

Brexit. Success? Too early to judge? Disaster?

Coincidentally, I was ferreting on some new permission yesterday, and the farmer said to help myself to a few turnips, So dinner today was sausage and bacon in gravy with onions, done in the oven, and carrots, turnip and new potatoes, no tomatoes needed. Good wholesome grub for a chilly day. Cheers. -
Brexit. Success? Too early to judge? Disaster?

Had my best tomato crop ever at the Allotments last year. I used to give excess tomatos away but last year we made loads of the "Dolmio" type sauces with tomatoes, garlic and onion, and froze them. Also made lots of green tomato and red onion chutney. I didn't have a Nostradamus moment and foreseen the shortages, just got lucky, I guess. The shortage is due to a few factors, freak weather in Spain and North Africa, home growers not being able to afford the greenhouse heating and lighting to grow out of season crops due to spiralling energy costs are two of the reasons, noth -
My barber in Saudi, yes, I needed one then, did that with the lighted taper, and also the bit with rolling the thread around your face, hot towel, wet, open razor shave, aftershave, the lot, and only two quid ! These days a quick once over with the electric zimmer does me and costs nowt ! Cheers.

Aren’t all these Turkish barbers Albanian ? Cheers.

What has the Muslim candidate, Yousef McJock, got to say on gay marriage, transsexuals, etc ??? Cheers.

To misquote the great Billy Connolly; “the mere fact that anyone would want to be a politician should bar them for life from becoming one..… Cheers.

I’ve no idea, but I doubt Lukashenko would agree. Cheers.

In Putins speech the other day, he said he regards parts of Ukraine and other east European countries as historical parts of greater Russia. I can't recal him talking about buffer zones, but that may have been lost in translation. Theres now talk about him "re-absorbing" Belarus into Russia. Im certainly no geopolitical expert, but it sounds more like recreating the USSR than buffer zones. Cheers.

At a local car wash, some years back, a bloke drove in with his Range Rover, saw the price on a poster and had his car washed by some illegal immigrant. When it was finished, they demand three times the price, and surrounded the car, threatening the bloke if he didn't pay. They made a mistake, he was a local hard man/gangster/nutter and revved up and drove into them, killing one and injuring others. He was done for murder and jailed........the car wash is still there. Cheers.

I agree, I didn’t mention digital, just photo ID . Cheers.

The idea of photo ID for voting is a good thing in my mind. Most of us have some form of photo ID now; driving license, passport, bus pass, etc. So a voter ID card for those without any other type of photo ID would be fine with me. The problem is "mission creep" once the voter ID is introduced there would then be some who who want it to be expanded and for you to carry it at all times and be produced when ordered by the likes of the police. Still not a bad idea, it could help in the tracking of illegal immigrants, etc, but I get the feeling it would be abused by the authorities

I can see Blair wanting this in his quest to be world President in the future globalist government, but I’m disappointed in Hague, he’s went very strange, (ok, he was always a BIT strange), since he left government and was elevated to the Lords. Cheers.

This one seems a bit of "overkill"; Nine dogs on one deer, but nevertheless, an interesting painting. Cheers.

I like those old paintings, Cheers.

We mightn’t have any choice, but I thank you for your offer. Salam Alaykum Effendi.

I think we’d be better playing Gillespie or even my neighbours kid, Max Thompson, our 17 year old Under 23, and England Under 21 keeper, Karius never recovered from his scouse experience! Cheets.
-
Third choice ? Or maybe fourth choice. Pope banned, Dubravka cup tied, Darlow out on loan, so Gillespie or Karius, or even my neighbours son Max Thompson, our under 21 keeper…… not good either way ! Cheers.

Newcastle are 2-0 down at home to Liverpool, and our ‘keeper has been sent off in the first half and will miss next weeks cup final…… do you really think arguing on THL is amongst my highest priorities? ???? Cheers.

I grew up, situations change, life moves on ? Cheers.

No offence taken ? Jukel seems to have a bit of a problem with me, I thought we sorted it by pm, but evidently not. I don’t get into arguments on line these days, so I’ll just ignore his comments. His opinions have the same validity as mine and everyone else’s. Its only the ‘net….not real life ? Cheers.
