I always thought it was Voltaire that said it, but now some are saying it was Evelyn Hall misquoting Voltaire ? Cheers.
-
To me, it’s not so much the free speech aspect; it’s what he inferred. Something like 83% of the country wants the illegal boats stopped, so the government comes up with a plan and Liniker likens it to the mass murder of 6 million people by the Nazi’s. Surely if he’s such a good broadcaster, he’d be aware of Goodwins Law ? ”As soon as someone mentions Hitler or the Nazi’s in an argument, they have lost that argument “ When Andrew Bridgend, a Tory MP said almost the exact same thing, the left howled for him to be sacked. Now that’s what I call hipocracy ? Cheers.

Just going by what was said on the news, but then again, who believes the MSN ? ? Cheers.

I dislike the c**t, but he has housed a couple of “refugees”, but not in HIS house, but in another of the properties he owns. Its easy to virtue signal when you are rich …… Cheers.

I’m a bit biased because I don’t like the arrogant, sarcastic, woke, left wing shithouse. I think he should have been sacked immediately and the rest of the sycophants should have been told “honour your contracts and get to work or you’re sacked as well “ ! Its nauseating to see Kier Starmer and Labour sticking up for Liniker when they howled for Andrew Bridgen, a Tory MP , to be sacked for saying basically the same thing ! Cheers.

What’s easier a daytime Rabbit or daytime Hare.
chartpolski replied to Allan P's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
When I read the post title, I thought “is this a joke ? “ In my mind there’s no comparison between a hare and a rabbit ! Obviously, to me at least, a rabbit is far easier. Then I had a bit of thought about it, and wondered if Alan meant “ what is better, a daytime, point and slip hare dog, or a dog that will work the land, off the lead, find its rabbits and catch them.” A completely different question, and I can only say it depends on what you want out of your dog. Maybe I’m reading it wrong, and absolutely no offence meant if others see it differently ? Cheers. -
Watching Sky News yesterday, it was announced that three US banks "lost $52 billion overnight". My missus asked how they could lose that much money, where's it gone, who's,got it ? I told her it didn't exist, it want real cash money, just firgures on a balance sheet that someone changed as they though the banks were worth less. A very simple explanation, but who has the authority to make these decisions ? Its just a guess, but I bet someone did make some serious, REAL money out of it ! Cheers.

I worked with a few Canadians around the world, and there reaction to how we go into a panic if the temperature goes to zero or we have an inch of snow ranged from bemusement to hilarity to contempt ! Cheers.

Quite right ? ”Never eat yellow snow “ ? Cheers.

I don’t think he impressed the parole board by saying there’s nothing more satisfying than trussing up a governor like a Xmas turkey ! ? Cheers.

I allways thought "grews" were first cross whippet greyhounds. Cheers.

Brexit. Success? Too early to judge? Disaster?
chartpolski replied to jukel123's topic in General Talk
I don’t know, mate. Different states have different laws. I was lead to believe that organised, formal coursing under rules was banned in Victoria, but informal coursing, pest control etc was legal, the lads I hunted with certainly thought it was ok . The Ozzie lads on here would be able to give you a better answer ? Cheers. -
So, if you disagree with paying an extra £12:50 per day road tax to drive your car in London, you’re a far right, Covid denying, Brexit voting oaf ? Well that’s according to Khan the London Mayor !!!! Cheers.

Brexit. Success? Too early to judge? Disaster?
chartpolski replied to jukel123's topic in General Talk
I’ve hunted a few times down under, Australia and New Zealand, and I know some states have brought in some hunting restrictions, such as the number of dogs you can have in certain areas, what types of dogs can or can’t be used on certain quarry, but compared to the UK both countries are a hunting utopia compared to the UK. Rabbit, hare, fox , pigs, goats, deer, ferals are all legitimate quarry, I don’t know the gun laws, but they aren’t as restrictive as here in the UK, but like a lot of western countries there are the left wing “liberals” who would love to see hunting and shooting banned -

What cucumber shortage ???? Lidl, right now ! Cheers.

My missus had a hip replacement at a private hospital, the Nufield, done on the NHS. The service was excellent . Cheers.

So a bit like , but not the same as, “the men in grey suits’, a small cabal of powerful people in government or the establishment who can wield influence ? Cheers.
-
No, I’m not worried. The only ‘Magic Circle’ I’d previously heard of was the club for magicians. I’m more interested than worried. Cheers.

I'm watching the Jacob Rees-Mogg Show on GBNews just now, and there was a discussion on the powers of the monarchy. Evidently the government has to put any law to the monarch for approval and usually the assent is given. BUT, the monarch can say no. Then Rees-Mogg said " but of course the 'magic circle' would strongly advise the monarch against saying no". Who are this "magic circle" ? What powers or influence do they have ? Are they elected officials? Francie, I think I may be becoming a conspiracy theorist! LOL ! Cheers.

A woman on The North East News tonight said " a loss at Wembley was disappointing, but a draw would have been ok"........ Where do they get these people from ? Cheers.
-
I was in my local Lidl this morning, and couldn't see any shortages, then the ITV news tonight showed a Lidl with rows of empty boxes in the veg area ! Now, Im not a conspiracy theorist, and I don't want to give my mate Francie any ammunition, but it looks like we are being taken for fools ! Just like the government is going to reduce the "cap" on energy prices, as the cost of gas has fallen dramatically, but our bills are set to go up by 20% !!!!!!! How the hell does that make sense ? Cheers.
-
Dear God, I've just heard that Lidl is limiting me to only buy THREE cucumbers at a time ! What will I do if Charles and Camilla call by for tea ? No cucumber sandwiches, ( with the crusts cut off, of course! ). What the f**k is going on ? Who buys three cucumbers at a time, in the winter ? I grew one cucumber plant last year which yielded 8 cucumbers, of which about 5 turned to mush in the fridge through lack of use. Of course, the gullible idiots will rush out and buy their allowed quota of cucumbers, thus exacerbating any shortage. If it hadn't been mentioned, no on

He supports PSG , mate ! Yeah, football is huge in Saudi. Cheers.

I've supported Newcastle all my life, went to all the home European games in the 60's and 70's, went to all the cup runs, home and away in the 70's. Still supported them when I could when I lived abroad. Been to a few games since I came home, and made sure I took my grandson on a stadium tour when he visited here. I, too, tried to avoid the Newcastle/Sunderland nonsense, simply because I don't consider it a "Derby" To be fair, I've allways said if there was darts, snooker and football on the telly I'd watch the darts, record the snooker, and miss the football, so I'm
