Evidently he was granted asylum in Sweden, but because of the Schengen open borders agreement, he was able to settle in France without any checks. Cheets.
-
Syrian asylum seeker……. Asylum had been granted. Cheers.

Trout and leftover chard and potatoes from yesterday; Cheers.

It seems to me that the choice now isn’t “left” or “right” any more in politics, many of the Tory and Labour policies appear almost identical; mass immigration, high taxes, high debt and borrowing and the insane rush to “net zero”. The choice seems to be between Populist or Globalist, with no middle ground. Boris and Farrage being populist’s and Sunak and Hunt being globalists. While it’s obvious we need global trade, I don’t think global government is a good thing, so I’d probably prefer a populist Prime Minister, one with morals and not a desire to enrich his family and friend

To paraphrase Billy Connolly; “anyone wanting to be a politician should be banned from ever becoming one.” Cheers.

Coincidentally, I was watching the Chelsea Newcastle game last week with some pals and one of them lives in Snods Edge and one in Consett. They like to visit the big city now and again. Cheers.

C’mon Mackem mate ! In what world is Leicester “up there” or, as has been said, “up north “ ? LOL ! Its the “midlands”, not the north ! We’ve both travelled extensively, but should never forget our roots……. But in the case of Sunderland, you could be forgiven !!! Just joking, mate ? Cheers.
-
No idea mate, but they looked a lot more lively than the one I took my grandson to see in Edinburgh zoo ! Cheers.

You’re right mate; when I have a load of pigeons I just take the breasts; but I shot four while in the allotment and I had a bit time in my hands so prepared the whole birds. Swiss chard I can only describe as a cross between spinach and cabbage, taste wise. Very high in vitamin c evidently. You plant it one season and take the leaves as you need them, then cut them off at ground level and they grow again the next season. Everything on that plate was shot or grown by me apart from the soy and fish sauce. I get a certain pleasure at catching, growing, cooking and eating

Two ways of looking at it mate; If it’s good news, you won’t have spent weeks worrying about it. if the news isn’t good, they can start the treatment earlier. Stay positive, all the best ? Cheers.

Slow cooked wood pigeon, in onion, garlic, chilli, soy sauce and a splash of fish sauce. Served with fried new potatoes and Swiss chard wilted in butter; Cheers.

I also like the crocodile farm, I had old videos of my wife and daughter having crocodile eggs hatching in their hands. Very interesting talking to the people there. They explained how the temperature the eggs are kept in decides not only the sex of the crocodile but wether they will be passive or aggressive. some great places to visit in Thailand, it’s not all about sex and booze and drugs ! LOL ! Cheers.

Been to that place a few times with my kids. I’ve got a load of pics somewhere, like the tiger kittens suckling on sows. Evidently the most tigers in one place in the world. I want to take my grandson there sometime. Cheers.
-
To be fair, they reckon there’s more pet tigers in America than there is wild tigers in the world ! Cheers.

My vet in Saudi was a Scot’s expat, a great vet and a great bloke. When we had a drink around the pool at his place, he would bring out his pet lion, which was a bit disconcerting, but it was huge but harmless. A Saudi had brought it in to be put down, it had been de-fanged and de-clawed, but he had got bored with it. The vet gave it a good home, it ate huge quantities of meat, but was a great talking point at parties ! Cheers.

I would never tell anyone what type of dog to have….. it’s their choice and their money. BUT I would advise against buying one of these designer mongrels for outrageous money. It only encourages and supports the puppy farmers and peddlers. Cheers.
-
Yep; he's a top class photographer, as well as a top class bloke ! Couple of pics he took of my old dogs in their later years, when he called into my place some years ago; Cheers.

If you win the lottery; you won’t need to worry about mpg ! Probably need leaded petrol unless it’s been converted . Cheers.

Crude oil . Cheers.

He hasn’t been accused of doing anything illegal…….. yet! Im sure more will come out; if he hasn’t done anything illegal, why isn’t he suing ITV for wrongful dismissal ??? Cheers.

FFS, Sharky, you’re a bigger trouble maker/ wind up merchant than the Grebster ! That post is going to have my protege’ mC delving into Google now, to prove that Fury is a million times better fighter than Harry Greb !! Just when I though I was making progress with him ! Thank you very much; Thank you very f****n much !!!!! Cheers.
-
A “Greb” is a semi mythical creature, akin to Bigfoot, Sasquatch and the far more elusive British wild big cats ! Its supposedly been spotted in the wild, usually near railway lines, but is far more frequent on the forums of THL. It uses its chameleon like powers to change appearance regularly, but being not to bright is quickly found out and frightened off. Its argumentative, but relatively harmless, often inquisitive and has been spotted in the company of a large Akita. Cheers.

Willful Blindness.....just the beginning?
chartpolski replied to Neobliviscaris1776's topic in General Talk
Covid is real, mate. I had it bad for two weeks, and it took months for me to get back to normal I had the two jabs, and the way I look at it is, at my age, how much more serious might it have been without the jabs ? Who knows, but I made my decision. My post isn’t covid denial or anti vac, just that I know of people who phoned work saying they had covid, but didn’t have tests and it could quite easily have been a heavy cold or ‘flu, and thus skewing the data. I believe the government lies to us, and I believe in SOME conspiracies, but I don’t see conspiracies in everything. -
Pure greyhound bitch

That’s a great price for a bitch where all the hard work has already been done ! Cheers. -
Willful Blindness.....just the beginning?
chartpolski replied to Neobliviscaris1776's topic in General Talk
Yes, I know that, but it is a respiratory disease. The common cold is also a respiratory disease, but I wonder how many people who have had a heavy cold thought they had covid ? How many people had seasonal ‘flu and thought they had covid ? The covid figures went through the roof but ‘flu figures dropped dramatically. What I’m implying is the figures may not be accurate, with people suffering one ailment and thinking it was something else. Cheers.
