  1. I’ve said this before on a post. Two old dog men, sadly no longer with us, who I had a lot of respect for, had completely opposite views on dew claws. Typp Ratcher would penalise any dog with dew claws when he was judging lurcher shows, and I had many a “discussion” with him about this but he was adamant that they should be removed. Paul Sagar, the saluki man was just as adamant that they should NOT be removed as they were attached to a tendon that went across the wrist and would weaken the wrist if removed. So, who knows, I’ve had dogs with and without dew claws and to be h
  2. Isn’t “hand fastening” just an ancient precursor to exchanging rings at a wedding ceremony ? To show you are now “joined together in wedlock ? There used to be another practice, where the man would tie one of his shoes on top of the woman’s head to show she was his property and under his foot ! Good luck with that one ! Vestiges of that can still be seen with the little, silver shoes that are still sometimes seen on wedding cakes. Cheers.
  3. They tried the same with womens darts; the PDC bigged it up with new tournaments and better prize money and even gave a few women “wild cards “ into the mens competitions. Problem is there’s only two or three women in the world that could possibly get past the first round of any decent competition, and there just isn’t any audience for televised womens games. Its the same with snooker, I watch darts and snooker to see the very best in the world, same with football. Of course there is absolutely nothing wrong with womens sports, but it’s ridiculous to try and equate them with men
  4. The German establishment is getting worried about the rise of the right wing party AfD, Alternative for Germany, who are against mass immigration and EU membership. AfD have gone from 2% of the vote to around 30%, especially in the former East Germany. The established parties are seriously talking about banning AfD !!!! Cheers.
  5. The Irish government will do as they are ordered by the EU, whereas the Polish government is fighting back at the EU’s proposed law ordering the member states to take the number of immigrants decided by the EU. The Poles are to have a referendum on this to decide who’s laws are paramount; Polands or the EU’s. Cheers.
  6. You need more than one for a decent meal; Cheers.
  7. They’ve been realised on bail. Blair scrapped the treason law years ago, anyhow, as foreigners they wouldn’t be committing treason anyway. Cheers.
  8. Liver, bacon and onions, with mashed sweet potato, green beans and cauliflower; Cheers.
  9. The Bee Gee’s were true super stars, not only having their own hits but writing many classics for others. They, like David Bowie, changed their style as time went on and were always popular. R.I.P.
  10. Of course we have to help people in trouble at sea…… but why did we bring them 20 odd miles back to a British port when they were picked up in French waters only 4 or 5 miles from France ? Surely it made more sense to take them to a French port ? Cheers.
  11. Thanks mate, it was a very enjoyable start to the season. The big test is next week against the greatest club team in the world. If we can come away without a mauling I’ll be happy ! Im not sure what result my grandson will want Cheers.
  12. I used to get as many bones as I wanted for free from a halal butcher in the west of Newcastle. I called in the other day and they weighed a small bag of them and said £5 !!!!! I didn’t even answer them, just put down the basket of shopping I had , turned round and walked out ! A sign of the times, I suppose. Cheers.
  13. Wilf, now just by reading your posts it’s obvious you know more about the intricacies of football than I do, but have you never considered that Moyes may have just had his team playing a type of football, however much of an anathema it may be to you and other supporters, that could win them a trophy, which they did, and a European Trophy at that ! The end justifying the means ? Cheers.
  14. And I was just saying a team and their supporters that’s been starved of success for generations would be ecstatic at winning a trophy, any trophy Cheets.
  15. Newcastles last meaningful trophy was the Fairs Cup back in ‘69. I’d personally put winning the FA Cup above winning that or the modern equivalent, Europa Cup or Europa Conference League. I’d even put winning the League Cup above winning the Europa Conference League, but that’s just my opinion. One thing for sure, no matter who owns Newcastle or how much money is spent, FFP notwithstanding , if we are lucky enough to win ANY trophy, no one will be complaining !!! Cheers.
  16. I’d delete Mizzy……….with extreme prejudice. Cheers.
  17. We have a dish up here known as “panackelty” or “tatey pot”. Basically a layer of meat, usually corned beef, Lamb lap or belly pork, covered with a layer of sliced potatoes and slow cooked in the oven. No reason that chicken couldn’t be used instead of the other meats. Cheers.
  18. Lee Anderson , Tory MP , had said if they won’t go onto the barge, they can f**k off back to France, the usual left wing shithouses, lead by Dianne Abbot are outraged ! Oh dear, how sad, never mind ….
  19. Venison stew in the slow cooker; Cheers.
  20. All this site down time and we still can’t post emoji’s ??? Cheers.
  21. That’s the sort of meal you should be eating mate; fresh, steamed vegetables, low fat, low cholesterol, free range meat . Its why I’m such a perfect specimen at 70 years old ! Cheers.
  22. Gravy would spoil the picture, I added it afterwards Cheers.
  23. Boned roe shoulder, peas, turnip and carrot mash; Cheers.
  24. 50 are on there now . Cheers.
